My Mom was born a few streets over from Battersea in 1924. She and the neighborhood kids would play on the front lawn ... because nobody cared. Im not sure if anyone lived in the old mansion at that time but all the kids from that area of Petersburg played at Battersea. They have really been working hard to restore that place.
