Hi Daniel good day. I'd like to acquire your fertile eggs to be delivered to Philippines. How much it would cost for the minimum orders including shipping? Thank you.
"Thou shalt not judge" and "Follow your conscience" but "I'll never, never keep my birds in cages". Speaks a lot about you Dr.Daniel. The biggest challenge is when we become commercially successful or face crisis we forget our farming principles. On the other hand your objectives outweight your wealthiness. Your passion is a great inspiration especially to those farmers in Africa and developing Nations. It not just important to have commercial success but we need to keep in mind the life of farm animals and their right to a good life in their life time. I would still stress barnyard poultry are a way more safe and happier than unhappy caged birds.
It is never about age, 30 sano ayaan jiraa hawshaanna waan ku jiraa, 800 layers ayaan marsiinayanaa hadda. Do it now sister, you look nothing more than a teenager.
Nice Video Daniel . You give a fairly balanced argument for deep litter vs cages (although you are clearly biased against the battery cage system) .I agree with your assessment-Cages are more commercially viable -less labor required for maintenance, less space, easier disease control and egg collection (lower risk of damage and vices )and cleaning.I think the manure from cages is better because it’s pure and not mixed as is the case with deep litter . deep litter manure depends on what material was used initially (coffee husks/wood shavings ) and how long it spends in the chicken house as well as effects of water spillage which make it harden .It can be quite exothermic when applied directly to plants causing wilting . Having tried out both free range and deep litter ,I understand the moral dilemma with cage system . But I believe as a farmer you have to set out clear goals and follow through. Chicken should be free to roam around but we still keep them in enclosures so as to manage their production more effectively. Battery cage system takes this to an extreme many are uncomfortable with .
Thank you so much for the videos, they are so educational. I would also like to go into poultry farming. I think deep litter is the best but due to my limited space i have to go for cages
Thank you my brother, you really are a good teacher. All these information came handy and useful. We are in the planning phase of starting this business
Am quite amaze by you n your job ,concerning the poultry farm, you r such a nice guy really helpful. Thanks a lot.... One thing has cross my mind n that oblige me to ask a simple question to you, please can you make a video that shows how the chicken lays there eggs, n how you pick them all,,, plz don't mind thanks in advance, take care
Iam out, i will never think of battery cage system again. The reason why i wanted it was because of easy management since i wont be at the farm 24/7, secondly the labour is way cheaper and lastly, eggs dont easily break as they just roll and boom ready for collection and also easy to clean etc...... Okay after your detailed explanation, i will never use battery system. Oh i love chicken breast but not bruised with with cages...
@@AMANFIFARMSthis people are just being emotional. When it comes to business, I believe one should use what is profitable otherwise even for cows which is more profitable in zero grazing we will be told to go back to traditional cows whose production is so low. This is business, they should stop with their nonsense sentiments n emotions.🙄🙄
Daniel ..l for not know you ..but with your ambition .& Desire ..education being key ..you will reach the sky..from med doctor ..to an inspirational poultry farmer ..eii lm happy for you ..ho high 👍🙏
You have a perfect chicken system bro..some people call it holistic approach..with hen and roaster together in cage you have definitely better produce eggs more natural with perfect nutrients for consumption..Kodus Bro happy farming.
Thanks brother leaned alot i love chickens in the near future i will be able to have big chickens farm . I want to get more lesson from u pls keep it up.
I have a free range/deep litter chicken farm and If you automate a lot of the feed and water requirements, it makes it easy for you to manage. Animals know how to take care of themselves if the resources are there for them. I spend about 30mins per day with a flock of 5000 broilers . Cages are convenient but also more startup costs and just cruel. You won’t have good production .
Nice videos...I have been watching your channel ever since i had the desire to start poultry farming.. i have just secured my land in Ghana for the layer poultry farm even though I live in the UK. I need more information bro.
@@FarmUpplease I have few questions. 1. what are th stages you need to vaccinate these layer chicks. 2. Do you vaccinate your chickens yourself or you use a vert. 3. What sort of vaccines do you give them and how do you get them.
I am for deep litter system. Watching birds in the cages always leave me feeling sad being that it's a maximum prison for a harmless creature. As usual, you did an excellent job in this video 👍
Thanks for the video. I appreciate. This is mt next venture, in October. And i have learned a great deal from your videos. I would like tk know how much i need ti start up, for everything. And i only have a 100 by 50 plot of land. How many birds can i do on it. Lastly do i beed to fence up the land for security purposes? Won't it hurt the birds? Thanks alot..
I love poultry farm so much but I couldn't continue with the business. The little potion been given to me was collected by the owner of the house. I started last year wit 150 broiler, but people make things difficult for me this time. No business like poultry farming.
Well done Sir. You're doing a very great job. Pls how do you clean up the floor and what do you spread on the floor for the birds? I use Sawdust from wood. I would really prefer your method of constructing the poultry farm. I thanks.
Thx alot for the information. I want to start layers and i have a small space. I will go for the cages. Can i put 2 weeks old layers there or should i buy a little bit older ones?
Great info! I also started with the deep litter system on a much smaller scale though for similar ethical reasons. Off topic question, have you ever raised rabbits and is it a popular meat source in Africa?
Thanks so much Dan. What causes water belly in broilers n how can this be prevented plz n then what causes blindness in chicks especially kienyenjis n how are they treated plz? Thanks
Hello Daniel, I have a farm in Uganda/ Tororo though I’m based in London. I use deep litter system but I use automatic water drinkers. The cage system is very cruel way of raising birds and most countries are outlawing its use. I have 2400 layer chicks delivered to my farm end of this month to add on the 800 layers already in the farm. I watched your formulation video on feeding and I observed you still use old school method which can be very frustrating to resource the ingredients. I use broken maize and brand and concretes . This kind give a better performance than the old school feeding method .Maybe we can share ideas you visit my farm and give us more tips. I started my farm with pigs which I still have few sows as I got rid of most as performance was poor. Thanks
I'm a newbee in poultry farming after watching your lessons I have been inspired but at the same time, I feel like I have made a wrong choice to start with layers. 😨😂
I want to start poultry farming but i don't have books to read and know how to control diseases and how to keep chickens both layers and broilers doctor Daniel please help me. I always follow you on RU-vid am a Zambian (solwezi town)
