Battery Drain Emummc Bug Nintendo Switch IC Reset/Fix Software

So this homebrew app is pretty much only suited for those who have a switch suffering from these special symptoms. Your battery drains incredibly fast but stays on for hours at 1 or 0 percent i'm talking with-in seconds... a 100% charge goes to 0% for other wise what seems like no reason. And when you turn the switch off it acts as if the battery is completely dead and won't turn on.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Text Based Tutorial For Resetting IC-
1.Copy the homebrew app to your affected sd cards I suggest putting it on all the sd cards you got with emummc set up on them.
2.Boot into stock and charge battery in-till it is full don't worry if the percent drops while you turn it off.
3.Boot into your emummc and then launch the homebrew app from the gallery. Again don't be worried if the batter is dropping or displaying wrong right now.
4.The app will say push x to reset the IC. I suggest reading and making a note of the IC/Battery stats that will be displayed at first.
5.After pushing x you should be done. You can exit the app and should be set.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do recommend charging your switch to 100% before you power down.
I forgot to mention that in video but it isn't 100% necessary. Just it will help keep the IC in sync with the stock HOS values.

Let's see if I understand, I should charge the console for approximately 4 hours or more until I make sure it is fully charged (here my first question arises, should I charge it while it is off, or on the system with the hack, or the original?), then simply run the program to restore the battery values in the system with hack (because it also restores it to the original) and that's it? Shouldn't we do something later?

If you can boot to emummc do so. Then charge for about 3 hours then run the homebrew app. You can run the app when docked as well but wait the 3 hours. Running the homebrew resets the ic "fuel guage ic" its the same as unplugging the battery but in software so running the homebrew in emummc will reset it as well as on stock it does not effect nand so no worry about a ban risk since all the switch will think happened is the battery was swapped or un-plugged. Sorry for the late reply but hope this helps clear things up.

I suggest charging to full in your emulated nand as well before powering off to help keep HOS firmware and your emulated nands closer in percentages as to not confuse the fuelguage ic again.

Usually its a software glitch caused by using a emummc rare cases it can be caused by other stuff I know the linux os on switch caused it before too. But if you used a emummc I would boot it up and run the payload should fix it on both stock and emummc it just makes switch think you unplugged and replugged the battery resetting the ic so there is no ban risk. If you never ran a emummc I would look up how to set that up and give this homebrew a go.

In the github instructions it says that after using the app you have to do 2 power cycles in sysemmc/stock and then repeat the whole process in emummc. If I understand you correctly, you recommend instead to just start by charging the switch (with no microsd) up to 100% on stock, and then booting emummc, run the app once and it should be done?
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 Год назад
yes that is correct it is what works for me. I sometimes have it docked to make extra sure its at 100% before I run the app. But once I run it my battery is perfectly in sync. I haven't experience battery de-sync in a long time now and when ever it does happen I just repeat the same steps.
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 Год назад
Yeah the 2 power cycles is to make sure the values are for sure 100% but if you wait like 3 to 4 hours or longer when charging then most likely the battery is full and you won't have to do a hard battery drain to reset the ic doing some math and the amount of time it takes to charge the switch can be estimated. I get why he wrote it that way though its so you for sure know the value. Either way will work but its the method I chose for mine it's also less work and strain on the battery to do it with out draining it flat.
@MVergaraQ

@@everythingdigital1 thanks for the reply, I’ll try your method then, as I also don’t like the idea of doing too many power cycles

Hi. I have read some comments on this video, but I'm still confused about how this works and also confused by some terms. If I understand correctly, do I just need to fully charge the Switch in the stock system until 100%, then reboot and enter the EMU CFW, run the app, press X, and then press B and that's all? Or do I need to press another button inside the app to save to the SD card or restore it? Also, is it detrimental to the battery or the Switch itself to run this app so often? Sorry for my bad English, and thank you so much.
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 4 месяца назад
Just be on your cfw emummc. Charge to 100% I suggest waiting 3 hours just to be sure it is100% that it is fully charged. Then you run the app. This all can be done docked if that is easier. There should be no detrimental effects its just a software method of disconnecting the battery and resetting the fuel guage ic. Also sorry for the late reply had a late night and was worn out all day and couldn't get on till now.

@@lee-andro4768 You want to make sure it is at a strict 100% the switch battery only takes from 0% to 100% about 3 hours its just a rule of thumb thing I made up but feel free to run it when you think it is ready but I suggest the 3 hours because then for sure it is full. No hekate will show the wrong value as well ,this homebrew app reset the fuel guage ic then it should show up correctly in hekate and stock hos.

If you messed with emummc and homebrew probably wouldn't hurt. I would charge too full on stock horizion os and on emummc you can wait 3 hours while plugged in should be long enough to tell its fully charged. Then run the app docked or in hand held. @everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 28 дней назад
Just atmosphere. Hard to explain it just resets the ic so resetting it in the emunand will fix it on stock and all it does is trick the battery ic into thinking you unplugged and replugged it in resetting it so no ban risk. -Sorry for late reply back but hope this helps explain it better.

@everythingdigital1

Have you used a emummc? Does it rapidly go down to 1% or 0% then stay on for a few hours? If it does that or you have used a emummc it could be the battery calibration bug and resetting the fuel guage would fix it.

I used Battery Desync Fix NX - 1.3.0 on my old(erista?) version switch. It makes my switch to show battery level 60% at the first time. And I turned it on as OFW. during using switch to consume battery, 60% only down to 49% and the batter alarm was shown. and then Put it on the dock for about 1 day, but it was only 58%...... and do the same sequence and it is now 7x% and never up to 100%... Battery time is quite good (possible to do the game for 3~4hours) It it can't be charged to 100%. Is it the battery problem? Or did I do somethig wrong?
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 10 месяцев назад
Charge to 100% on stock switch to your cfw or emummc charge again till your sure it is full I suggest leaving it on the charger another 3 hours after it shows 100% to make sure it is for sure at 100% then run the battery desync fix.. That should re calibrate it. Sounds like you ran the homebrew app when the battery wasn't fully charged. But if this don't work there is a slim chance it is the battery but I think you just ran the app when the battery wasn't full. Also sorry for the late response long thanks giving had me wore out lol.

Yes it resets only the battery charge ic "fuel gauge" it does not touch stock nand. So if you launch it in emummc or cfw and run the homebrew like I described it will reset it for the emummc and the stock horizon os.
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 6 месяцев назад
Oh I re-read the comment. You have just plain stock switch like you never ran mods? I mean it wouldn't hurt it to try but if the homebrew don't fix it then look into a battery. My suggestion is to charge it for 3 hours and when docked run the homebrew app. If this don't fix it like I said might be more then the fuel guage bug caused from emummc or cfw. If that the case new battery might be needed.

Should be fine. Although my switch is not new so I can't confirm it but I suspect they test them before they ship. It could also be a used switch and probably still is fine. If you think the battery is miss-calibrated and that the switch might have used a emummc before I would just run the homebrew app. If you run the homebrew app on a emummc there is no ban risk it will apply to the stock nand as well all it does is reset the ic by making the switch think you unplugged and replugged the battery in.

i went into homebrew, pressed X, then exited with B, let it charge to 100%, from there i let it drain to 0%, recharged it to 100%, let it drain again to 0% and then recharged it to 100% again, then i went into homebrew saved it, went into sysnand and restored it, went back into emunand to test, when it reached 9% it forced sleep, did i do something wrong? if i take the card, format it and redo the emunand from scratch, will it fix it? or would i have to open the nintendo switch to remove the battery connector? remembering that my nintendo switch was manufactured in 2022, model v2, sorry for the translation, i'm from Brazil.
@everythingdigital1
@everythingdigital1 8 месяцев назад
Is it a mariko model switch? Well either way should be the same I believe. All the homebrew does is reset the fuel guage ic. " I would charge to 100% leave the switch on the charger 3 hours then run the homebrew. You can run the homebrew while docked " Sounds like you ran the homebrew with the switch not charged to 100% which would confuse it making it think the lower battery percent is the full percentage. The fuel guage ic is separate from the emummc both stock hos and emummc share it so erasing emummc does nothing for the problem. If worse comes to worse unplugging the battery will un-power the ic and reset it to the default values.

@@danielgomes6118 Shouldn't have to drain the battery but the homebrew is a software method of disconnecting the battery so it should work. Leave your switch docked for 3 hours then try. Keep your sd card in boot into your cfw or emummc and plug it back in the dock then charge for a little and try to run the homebrew again. You should be able to boot while plugged in if not after all that another way to reset the fuel guage ic is to disconnect the battery and plug it back in. Hii im a bit doubtful about this cause what i ve done until now has been fully charge the switch on emummc and do the fix, and for what i can see it looks its on sync with the real battery value so i think its fixed there. Now my problem is on using this same method on sysnand cause i don't want to get banned with this so... is there any risk of getting banned with this on sysnand? I want to still play smash online. I know in the video you say there's no problem but i want to make 100% sure about this cause i don't trust Nintendo with that hahaha

Sorry for late reply RU-vid appears to be limiting my comments or hiding them from me.... But yea shouldn't pose a problem to the sysnand I had the same worry at first myself. As far as I am aware nintendo doesn't track the state of the fuel gauge. So just resetting it shouldn't pose a ban problem if that was the case any one who had a battery die or swapped would have been banned. All this homebrew does is reset that ic it doesn't mess around with the stock nand.

@@everythingdigital1 well first thanks for the response, but after rewatching the video i just realised i did your method wrongly. So i have done it with the steps from the description of the video and hopefully does something. I ended up buying a new battery cause my old battery was inflated and was causing the switch OS to be broken with battery notifications. But even with this new battery im having some problems at around the 16 % percentage, were it shows low battery warning and goes into sleep mode. So crossing fingers your method works for this issue now but if not i don't care cause next year switch 2 is coming hahaha
