This will definately work if there adequate reserve or stored capacity, accessible to all, for 5 days electricity. Even the German greens and identified this and widened their acceptance of input power sources to support the bas load capability. I like your idea of using the wasteful curtailment payments paid to foreign owned comapnies, to be diverted into the direct support of the populous and economy and welcome a 5 day UPS in my own home (replaced every 10 years after excessive degradation) as a way of creating distributed backup capacity.

Don't live in Scotland and never will but cheaper Electricity for Scotland would drive Scotland forward in employment, energy innovation and adoption of new technology which will gradually spread south. It is in the national interest as energy curtailment and import costs will be saved. Envy should not prevent the national interest. I am old enough to remember being told nuclear power would generate limitless energy and be virtually free. Sadly this aspiration was never realised. Unfortunately, it's not possible. Vested interests will prevent this from happening. To name two reasons there are equipment, servicing costs and return for investors in power plants already in production or about to be commissioned. The government will protect the status quo. Nevertheless, we should all aspire to realise this dream. Great video. Thank you.

The electricity production in Scotland has been an investment by the UK government. The scots dont own it so why shoild they get cheaper electricity. They benefit by being in the Uk

I would move there if that was the case nz is not a place to live nor is it a place to work not only does the country never make money it sell all off its products cheaper than the Girl Scout cookies
