Make sure you check your battery water EVERY MONTH...or you will be buying another one in a year or so. Best thing is to put this charger on a Weekly Timer ( they are cheap on Ebay) and it will save you having to buy another one.
Voice of experience! I put one on my brand new cranking battery in my boat and haven't got a chance to use the boat. Tried to raise the motor today and no juice. The charger said full, but when I checked the battery is completely dry! I have a timer on my trolling motor battery charger which is another brand. After I buy a new battery I will use the timer for both chargers. I have another battery tender on my P/U and no problems with it or the one on my son's motorcycle, but this 800 AUTOMATIC doesn't know when to stop charging!
quick question,i just bough 2 T105RE 6 volt trojan golf cart batteries, hooked up in series for 12 volt system ,,,,first time i hooked them up to a schmacker 1.5 charger /maintainer they reached 13.6 before charge light turned green,,,,,,,a week later i hooked it up again but they reached 14.6 and still no green light,, i disconnected charger in fear of over charge,,,,,,,,,should i have allowed the charging process to continue to green light appeared ?........were the batteries attempting to equalize ?
In reading the "IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS", sentance #2 sez: "Do not expose charger to rain or snow". I have in my possession a Deltran Battery Tender High Efficiency WP800. I bought it because I wanted something to install outside during the summer riding season for my motorcycle to keep battery maintained.. So why does Deltran's Safety instructions say this?
I have this model in Qatar. As the voltage range is 110v to 240v and Qatar's voltage is 230v, it works a treat. I would suggest you be careful to use all the BT accessories as I used the battery cords that are fixed to the battery with another brand-it didn't work and I suspect the other company had a reverse polarity system
I have my Deltran Battery Tender hooked up and charging the battery on my car through my cigarette lighter / 12V outlet. You can purchase the male cigarette adapter through Deltran or any auto parts business.

Be advised! I have had four of these on my HD, dirt bike, tractor and atv. Over the last 8 years all four have failed. Yellow charging light stays on and will not charge your battery. I have called Deltran and they will do nothing because they are over 3 years old. I have 3 Junior Battery tenders over 10 years old, never had a problem. Just check, after a long period of time if the unit light does not change to green good chance your 800 is junk.
Mine sayscwsteroroif and was used to keep boat battery charged ut eas in damp srea with posdible drips and came to no harm i dint think it can immersed charger is sealed in epoxy but wire entry would be issue ?
