The system sells itself it for sure. Very clever use of the multipurpose dice: turn counter and weather indicator, strength counter and position. I see them putting out some massive battles for more bucks if this catches on. And it probably will. D-Day? 😅 Fun thing is that we can all try out the “starter” scenario you demoed by just playing on a screenshot of your video! 😂.
Am I missing something or is there almost no meaningful decisions to be made in this game? I feel like "Always keep at least 1 advantage in each lane" is essentially the one and only possible strategy. The other comments seem rather positive so there must be something I missed somewhere?
I’d say you’re pretty much right. Same sort of thing with the other one I played. The other 3 are all supposed to be more complex and have more going on, but I don’t think any of them will compare for strategy to “full” war games. But they are also $1 each, so I’m not complaining 😅
I agree with you. I like wargames, and David Thompson designs, but this just feels like rolling a dice and resolving the random result, hardly a game but more a 'look what happens'. Hopefully the other maps have some more decision space.
Generally speaking the depth of play will increase with each game in the series. The complexity won't massively scale, though, because the rules will always be contained in a 5" x 7" area of the page you print out.
Paused at the end of the first round. Hey Mike, never mind the game, where did you get that die. I could do with lots of those. Rolling like Colin lol Edit: and the crazy dice rolling continued...I really need to know where you got that die from! lol
It is now enshrined in a place of honor on my table (but if you actually want to know, all the dice are from Roll Player Adventures. Good place to grab random dice of varied colors)
@@OneStopCoopShop It deserves it's own special die holder! lol Thanks Mike. I reckon the Allies would have liked to have such luck especially with the weather in the push north up Italy. Wonder if there will be a Monte Casino card in the set. Also the system is so well set up for expansions and campaigns. And for a fiver has to be worth a punt.
@@OneStopCoopShop Hi Mike, Just watched Liz Davidson play the Singapore card from the SEAC theatre campaign series 1. Another RU-vid notification I got around the same time was for an up coming video on the WW2 TV channel about the Canadians in Italy* Thought you may be interested in watching if you have the time. FWIW I was unable to complete my pledge due to a problem receiving a confirmation code. Have Japanese soldiers cut my communication lines? 🤔 *The Royal Canadian Regiment in Italy - September 1943, Side-stepping South of Salerno So just before the Moro campaign
