already right off the bat, 13.6 is up there because finally we have account linking, it took over a decade but we got a new method of saving progress as opposed to the dogshit inquiry codes, actually massive
I’m surprised no honourable mention of 8.2. Adding leadership is insane and it’s crazy that the system wasn’t in place before. Looking it up now, there was also some nice QOL added like cat cannon being changeable from equip screen and the relatively short lived go to zombie outbreak button. It also added some nice talents for units like pizza and cameraman. Great video as always regardless
@@bosssnurp5912 they added account linking in 13.6,you can link your Battle Cats data with either Google or Apple ID,so the progress reset glitch won't be a problem anymore besides you can now play on different devices now.
I really like how you used the game’s OST this time, really feels like a culmination of a decade’s worth of content Also COTC ost 3 is the best ost in the game ⚠️‼️‼️‼️
39:18 while it is a good update THE LABYRINTH HASNT BEEN IN EN IN OVER A YEAR AND THE LAST TIME WE SAW IT WAS BEFORE THE UPDATE PONOS PLEASE JUST GIVE US LABYRINTH I NEED MORE DARK CAT EYES WITH THE AMOUNT OF UF AND UT YOUR RELEASING 😭😭😭😭😭
@@Ads_and_InfoThe music track O' Fortuna was removed despite being the most iconic one in the game, the jump to Zombie Outbreaks button was also removed
@@XskullDrSkullReally? I’m over the change of O’Fortuna, and the removal of the quick jump to outbreak was such a good change. And we got minisaurus with that update
@@jesseyu69420ah, so it wasnt a mandela effect, you really did used to be able to jump to zombie outbreaks from the text bubble of the cat in the cat base saying “zombie outbreak in ____!”
Yea, RoO being one of if not the best stage in the game is a opinion I can get behind. Definetly my favorite stage in the game. The atmosphere of that stage is unmatched, it's fun, and the different playstyles allow for every player to come ip with a unique strategy. Best example is bore jr, who has a lot of counters, yet you have to also factor in how those counters fare in the rest of the stage. For example, octopus allows units like slime, can can etc to get clean hits in, but doesn't help at all during the rest of the stage. Hitman needs a bit more setup against bore jr due to his blindspot, but can also help with the wild doges and sir rel spam if desperate. Some people might prefer the first option, others the second, and some others might come up with other stuff that fits their playstyle, it's so wonderfully designed.
Ngl as a player who has played since 6.0 (or at least before D'artanyan was released) seeing the story of this game is hella nostalgic, my favorite update will always be SoL ending
Kasli the Bane is a very powerful unit when it comes to stats. The combination of high health and 5 knockbacks leads to her staying alive for a long time when summoned. Thanks to the powerful Surge, she is also able to deliver high and consistent damage to midrangers and backliners, such as Le'noir and R.Ost, while also intercepting incoming peons and keeping enemies that are extremely easy to knockback at bay, such as Gory variants, Brollow, Rain D. and Mr. Puffington. Lastly, she can even be used for "base trapping": if you have her hit a base and trigger a boss wave, her Surge will instantly hit and severely cripple anything that comes out, sometimes making a massive difference. Just remember that due to her blindspot and most of her damage being concentrated in the surge, she will not perform too well against Zombies, short ranged pushers like Bore or One Horn, as well as surge-immune enemies. However, a tanky unit can cover her blind spot, making her usage even more viable. Damage isn't all she has though: her Curse ability lets her disable enemies' Knockback, Slow, Freeze, Weaken, Warp, Curse, Dodge Attack and Toxic abilities. Since it has good uptime, this makes her even more useful against enemies with annoying abilities like Super Metal Hippoe, Li'l Doge, Crazed Axe Cat, Henry, Winged Pigge, Gobble, Heavenly Herald Papuu, Bakoo and all Relics. There are, however, rare instances in which her Curse ability can be counterproductive, such as against some units with Warp, who would become unable to warp any attackers they reach to safety. This is most notable against Final Boss Giga God. Her immunities to Wave Attacks, Warp, Curse, Weaken and Surges further help her with the threat posed by such abilities, especially in Uncanny Legends, Cats of the Cosmos and The Aku Realms where they are prominently active. Overall, she's an extremely powerful unit that holds her edge all the way into the endgame and has almost no drawbacks.
This cube cured my mortality All the people here who bought this wireless tungsten cube to admire its surreal heft have precisely the wrong mindset. I, in my exalted wisdom and unbridled ambition, bought this cube to become fully accustomed to the intensity of its density, to make its weight bearable and in fact normal to me, so that all the world around me may fade into a fluffy arena of gravitational inconsequence. And it has worked, to profound success. I have carried the tungsten with me, have grown attached to the downward pull of its small form, its desire to be one with the floor. This force has become so normal to me that lifting any other object now feels like lifting cotton candy, or a fluffy pillow. Big burly manly men who pump iron now seem to me as little children who raise mere aluminum. I can hardly remember the days before I became a man of tungsten. How distant those days seem now, how burdened by the apparent heaviness of everyday objects. I laugh at the philistines who still operate in a world devoid of tungsten, their shoulders thin and unempowered by the experience of bearing tungsten. Ha, what fools, blissful in their ignorance, anesthetized by their lack of meaningful struggle, devoid of passion. Nietzsche once said that a man who has a why can bear almost any how. But a man who has a tungsten cube can bear any object less dense, and all this talk of why and how becomes unnecessary. Schopenhauer once said that every man takes the limits of his own field of vision for the limits of the world. Tungsten expands the limits of a man’s field of vision by showing him an example of increased density, in comparison to which the everyday objects to which he was formerly accustomed gain a light and airy quality. Who can lament the tragedy of life, when surrounded by such lightweight objects? Who can cry in a world of styrofoam and cushions? Have you yet understood? This is no ordinary metal. In this metal is the alchemical potential to transform your world, by transforming your expectations. Those who have not yet held the cube in their hands and mouths will not understand, for they still live in a world of normal density, like Plato’s cave dwellers. Those who have opened their mind to the density of tungsten will shift their expectations of weight and density accordingly. To give this cube a rating of anything less than five stars would be to condemn life itself. Who am I, as a mere mortal, to judge the most compact of all affordable materials? No. I say gratefully to whichever grand being may have created this universe: good job on the tungsten. It sure is dense. I sit here with my tungsten cube, transcendent above death itself. For insofar as this tungsten cube will last forever, I am in the presence of immortality
5.5 deserves an honorable mention. It added Can Can, Cameraman, and Sanzo, effectively revolutionizing the meta in one fell swoop. Also gave us Mission Control Mekako, who was long considered the best anti-alien in the game.
As someone who has been playing since 2016 days I think the overall evolution of the game is incredible. I Have taken breaks over the years but I generally am always excited to see what Ponos comes up with next! EDIT: I thought I would share what additions made the the most hyped up back in the day. 1. zombies: Adding zombies at the time was a concept at least I wasn't expecting. A whole new trait with no real counters when it was introduced. However the execution of the outbreaks was very poor. But the New SOL stages zombies were in were fun. Also musashi's fight in multiversal studios was very fun before the powercreep. 2. Advent revenge stages: The idea of red cyclone returning with a whole new stage was very awesome and the true forms for their cats who had been mostly ignored except for a few advent units was extremely welcoming. The idea at the time that bullet train cat would ever be a thing would have blown my mind, and some of the revenge stages like Daboo's were very tricky and interesting at the time. 3. Leadership: Leadership made me recommend this game to more people because it was such a nice way to reward players to keep playing the game. Before leadership was introduced most people would ignore user rank rewards and only pick up a single one at a time to tactically refill your energy (that is what they did at the time). But now you can pick up your user rank rewards and clear stages whenever you want without having to worry about wasting energy. Honorable mentions: Gamamoto, True forms for rares and super rares and specials, talents, search function for cat units, remembering last clear formation, and all the various collabs.
With a convolited lore that makes fnaf look like a diner word search, it's incredible that battle cats managed to hook us without a clear story with these updates. 7.0 being high makes it automatically a great list. Expected nothing less.
@@XskullDrSkull I had an idea for the Anniversary build-up, for every day that leads up to the anniversary, something gets added. Would you please try it?
I will always be the most fond of 7.0, it was the first and only update where I actually caught up to the latest legend stage beforehand. Also I Honestly forgot that they even gave cat base mini a true form lmao
With how iconic of an enemy Bun Bun is, I’m surprised that we don’t have a metal or angel variant of him after 10 years of the game being around. Bun Bun deserves to be the second most represented enemy in terms of variants only to Doge.
I remember... I'm clearing Deneb, taking care of some peons, then I touch the base... The BOSS wave emits, Corporal Weyland appears, and THIS 13:21 starts playing. Insane memories...
I’m kind of disappointed in myself that I didn’t get more done in the 8 years I’ve been playing this game. There’s so many great features and cool cats that have been added that I can’t get yet because I’m still too low level. Although, I think it’s poetic how I’m finally finishing sol after the game’s (en version) 10 year anniversary
I’ve been playing this game for like 5 or 6 years now but only in the past year have I been interested in the updates. The only thing I’m sure of is that the update that ended SOL and begun UL will probably be here, even though it added Growing Strange. Also Mecha Bun is in the thumbnail so it’s a dead giveaway. Maybe Version 9.6 as well for adding the best Uber in the game. Also I’m gonna guess the ITF update will come because that added loads of things like aliens and A Bahamut. Just listed off random things because to be honest I’m clueless. Really interested in this ranking though
The true best update is 10.3 because that's when Primordial Cat got his True Form, transforming him into Future Cat, the best Relic meatshield in The Battle Cats.
Whats the second song of the last update, starting at 42:37? Fire vid btw, love this being a sort of wayback machine to the nostaligic past of battle cats, i still remember where i was when zombies and CotC got introduced...
Although I agree with most of this video there is one thing I disagree with and that is the number #1 slot because, and I am 100% serious about this, I think it belongs to 13.6 (EN). It doesn’t matter how amazing the actual contend in an update is when one slip of the mind and one wrong move can permanently reset all your progress. 13.6 (EN) fixed that with account link, and as a result makes every update and every aspect of the game a lot better (also it introduced diabrollow and I might never actually fight against it but god it has the best name of all enemies in the game)
I thought 12.0 had a spot for #1 since #2 was when SoL concluded. And would you look at that. The VERY UPDATE THAT CONCLUDED UL WAS FIRST HOW DID I GUESS THAT?!
Nah, as someone who used to watch Schwalbe (an Ark youtuber who used to do no commentary) I feel like that would take away what makes Xskull’s videos so special
I don't know what you think guys but to me this [fluff]ing game is the best mobile game by far. It's no like I played too many but man, even the gacha part is pretty friendly and many games should replicate it or at least use it as an example (supercell I'm looking at you)
Idi, Cats of the Cosmos, Aku Realms, end of SOL and end of UL. Honestly, I agree with all of these. I think for honourable mentions though, I would add 9.6 for adding the greatest Uber in the game
I was going to do top 5 worst updates in this video too, however after writing the whole script I realized how unpleasantly negative it would’ve been so I decided not to do that.
Hot take COTC is the 3rdd best out of the 4 sagas ( including aku realms) into the future is better than COTC. The bosses in COTC 2 and 3 are pathetic even for non uber player while ITF has cool variety of bosses and had timed rewards which was good.
Nuh uh the best update is 1.0, the update that started it all(ik he said he wont go too far back cos he has not started yet but u dont need to experience 1.0 to say it is the best)
