Something I've done with already printed bits, if I'm going for holes but not quite huge "mechanic bits showing below" holes, is to put leftover raft below, nice easy mesh look and lets you reuse some print residue, wrapping raft leftovers on cables after dunking them in hot water's nice too, been using it (not with cables but molded pieces) on the breather bits and canisters of star lord helms.
Amazing tutorial Kiara, very helpful and you said you paint in the basement? Would love to see the set up I noticed you have looks like a fan inside of a wooden made paint booth looks like but wonder how you do the filtration
usually I buy an air filter from home depot and tape it to the fan so when the fan is on (facing backwards) it pulls the spray paint air through the filter. it’s not great 🥴 still better than nothing though. eventually I hope to upgrade to something way better.
after a while the smudges start to show up and I’ve just kind of learned to accept it. it doesn’t really show up as fingerprints and moreso just “dirty” which I don’t mind, but I really like the matte metallic shine of the gold without the clear so unfortunately sacrifices had to be made :/
