Almost like their ability to control robots on it's own isn't enough to handle the virus, so the Chaos Emeralds powers up that particular skill.

And even then I remember Eggman told Starline that the virus already adapting after being free from their control. Quite similar to DC's Doomsday in a way: Can't take control of them that way again

I always thought it was because it was a mixture of both the metal virus and the organic life form

Gemerl isn't one of Eggman's robots really. He's an *ancient* robot Eggman found, dumped when he couldn't make it work; then caused to go berserk due to it's original programming, get critically damaged, Eggman rebuilt it but it got beat up again, was found by Cream and Vanillia, and seemingly regained it's old memories Eggman suppressed. That said; Gemerl's backstory is kinda split across two non-main series Sonic games [Sonic Battle and Sonic Advance 3], one of which has no dialogue.

@@raikaria3090 Actually, if you're talking about Emerl, Gemerl isn't supposed to be him, but rather just a copy that Eggman made of him in a similar vein to the Phi robots in Sonic Battle; along with that, the real Emerl died in Sonic Battle, but in Advance 3's true ending Gemerl survives and ends up with Cream after Tails finds him on a beach and reprograms him, which in a way is probably the closest one would get to having Emerl back, even if just in spirit :V

@@raikaria3090 Yes and no, Eggman used all the data he could recover from Emerl, plus his own he got from seeing him fight, in order to create a new robot, and upload the programming into it, Gemerl is more of a "clone with all the memories of the original" kind of deal. Then again, he's a robot, so you could make the argument that it's like changing out hardware in your PC, you're just changing components around, but it's still _your_ PC, so Gemerl _is_ Emerl, but in a new body, it depends on how you look at it.

Plus we got a little development with Silver, by learning just how far in the future he’s from, being a “couple of hundred years”.

@Paul Bell yes it is, she almost fully transformed when Gemerl was flying with her and when the battle ended Gemerl was even more damaged, i like Cream too but she transformed

Honestly, me too. Eggman never wins (unless you count Forces to a certain extent and that one time he got a carpet in Riders) so to get this mental bug inside his long time rival, make his overwhelmingly positive spirit have some type of growing shred of doubt inside him is as much as a win he could ask for.

Just to bad that by the start of the next arc everything that happened here other than Omega being little more than a head is already forgotten. Completely with Happy go Lucky Sonic and Cream, a perfectly functioning planetary infrastructure for the rich and pretty ones, fully operational and filled prisons. Eggman having a whole Empire and no one ever referencing the events of the Metal Virus saga beside one single joke.

@@rynobehnke8289 I mean, I would probably try to move past an apocalyptic virus that was stripped fully from the planet as fast as possible with nothing but a passing mention. The characters went through hell and back to get peace times back, I think they deserve to never speak of that tragedy again.

@@castform7 My real issue with it is well for one that it makes very little sense. I mean you can't really tell me that Amy, Sonic, Cream and everyone else would be make to normal in under a week that makes just not a lot of sense. Than the problem with the infrastructure we saw clearly that the Zombot just destroyed things for destruction sage so there should still be busy with rebuilding things and not already have giant Chao race tournaments for the rice and famous in a Luxus hotel in the mountains. And after people are now displaced all over the world (which is even part of a gag in the Epiloge issue that Team Chaotix because of it currently has a tight schedule) should the world not be this organized and criminals should be running around all over the place as every prison turned into swarming zombies. So really it becoming so glossed over so quickly makes not a lot of sense in-universe. And my other issue is one that mostly comes from people that praise this story for how much of an impact it had and how it developed the characters when the moment the story ends its treated as if it never happened. Forces war got more acknowledgement in the first story arc than the Zombot arc got over the last 2 and 2 mini series that played during and after it.

Well, Eggman doesn't really have a backstory. Eggman didn't have a more elaborate personality until after Sonic Adventure. All of the reasons why people hate the Zeti could be applied to Eggman. The Deadly Six are very new characters and I hope that they are used more so they can develop like Eggman did.

@@StormC9A The promblem with that similarity is Eggman has more personality than all six of them combined. He can get away with the no backstory thing cause he's so fun and interesting to watch. Am I saying the Deadly Six can't also have this leeway? No, but they will need a lot of work since even robots have more dimension than them.

You are forgetting tails is like 8 years old maybe 11 or 12 for modern tails... but that's still far too young... hell sonic and knuckles arw 16 & 18 respectively and that's still too young to have to deal with that kind of trauma

The fact that you have to remind yourself that this is a kids comic and everything is gonna end in sunshine and rainbows is really a testament to the quality and maturity of the Comic, Really good stuff.

Nah; it's outright shown in the last video. Zavok states they might be able to control a few dozen. The emeralds amplfy their powers so they can control thousands. Same rerason why Zavok dosen't control Orbot and Cuebot when they say they'll comply. They have limits. Zavok dosen't want to waste his 'capacity'. Yeah; you can control like 20 Zombots. What good is that doing against the other thousands in your horde?
