This unverified video purports to show the moment Russian troops made contact with Ukrainian border guards, as they began a new offensive in the Kharkiv region.
Russian forces now say they are ‘deep’ into Ukrainian defensive lines and have intensified their attacks on the northeastern border with Ukraine, and have seized up to nine villages.
Vovchansk, in Kharkiv region, has become a focal point in the battle.
Civilians are being evacuated from the area as fighting takes place on the outskirts of the town.
There are conflicting reports about the situation on the ground.
Ukraine’s military says that the situation in the town is under control, while Russian sources say that the western and northern areas of Vovchansk have been seized by their forces.

Ukrainian forces have voiced concerns about what could happen if the enemy comes within artillery range of Kharkiv.
Zelenskyy has stressed the need for more air defences to protect his country’s second-largest city, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Last month US Congress approved a $60 billion aid package, most of which will go towards replenishing Ukraine’s struggling artillery supply and air defences.
Blinken promised that those weapons were ‘on the way’, and that some had already arrived.
