@@adrianalicea6704 I remember in the days long ago, when the land was young, I would walk through great woods, and large plains of land. When the hours grew weary and cold this is the song that I would hear in my head. It is the song that reminds me of my days past, and reminds me of the days to come.
the song strikes me as thankfulness to God for peace as a result of war. a yearning for peace, even. in a way, I think it comes off stronger in the modern era, where the mechanisms and machines of war, both psychological and physical are far beyond our comprehension.
I am from the UK and I am doing everything I can to get the right to be US citizen. For as long as I remember, I always wanted to live in that beautiful country. Even though I have never been, I feel like my soul wants to go back. Everytime I listen to the Battle hymn, I imagine myself finally getting the citizenship, sitting by a campfire in the mid west with the cool breeze blowing over my face. This composition always puts a smile on my face and gives me so much motivation to keep trying. I hope that GOD lets me fulfill my greates dream. God bless America.
I’m going to be completely honest as a U.S. citizen the way you have described our country isn’t exactly what you think it is also Ohio is a fake state
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword His truth is marching on Glory, Glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps His day is marching on. Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His day is marching on I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel "As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal" Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel Since God is marching on Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Since God is marching on He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Our God is marching on In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free While God is marching on Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! While God is marching on

The lyrics are so beautiful. I have always loved this hymn. Growing up in neutral Colorado where we just love God and America, then I moved to the south and people are all up-in-arms against this song! It's so frustrating. Aren't the God-glorifying lyrics more important than whatever cultural implications the song might have? I still love Dixie Land, can't I love this song too, just for what it is? It's just a good hymn. Hope southern Christians will understand why I love this hymn and not try to force me to associate it with the war history like they do.
It is possible that the player piano version might not be playable by hand. Look at the spread on the keyboard at many points. These rolls were recorded by special mechanical piano machinery. The performer would often stop and add notes they could not get with their hands.
Super late to this but I doubt it'd be Grant. Apparently the man was hopelessly tone deaf. It was said of him that "He only knew two songs: Yankee Doodle and Not Yankee Doodle" lol
Hi, Nate, I would like to ask for permission to use this soundtrack in the COP Group evangelical program. It will be used as an accompaniment for singing in Chinese lyrics. A reply will be much appreciated.
That sounds wonderful. The music is not copyrighted as it was written in the mid-to-late 1800s. No issue from me personally to use the recording as your accompaniment! Please share a link sometime if you end up making a video! Thanks for asking. Also sorry the piano is out of tune in my video, but hopefully it's what you're looking for in your accompaniment.
When the union's inspiration through the workers' blood shall run There can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun Yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one But the union makes us strong Solidarity forever Solidarity forever Solidarity forever For the union makes us strong It is we who plowed the prairies, built the cities where they trade Dug the mines and built the workshops, endless miles of railroad laid Now we stand outcast and starving midst the wonders we have made But the union makes us strong Solidarity forever Solidarity forever Solidarity forever For the union makes us strong They have taken untold millions that they never toiled to earn But without our brain and muscle not a single wheel can turn We can break their haughty power, gain our freedom when we learn That the union makes us strong Solidarity forever Solidarity forever Solidarity forever For the union makes us strong In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold Greater than the might of atoms, magnified a thousand fold We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old For the union makes us strong Solidarity forever Solidarity forever Solidarity forever For the union makes us strong
I dislike Play-Rite because the rolls aren't very nicely punched (ragged chords because of some unevenness in the perforators) but I have to admit some of the arrangements are pretty awesome!
Elements were taken from the German folk song “Im Wald im grünen wälde” and “John Brown’s body”. Which isn’t surprising considering most of the classically liberal German nationalists and German immigrants in general fled to the US in the 1850s/1860s after the failed 1848 coup, just in time for the American Civil War. Also most of those Germans were abolitionists and vehemently anti-slavery so one of those German 48’ers probably gave American abolitionists and Julia Ward Howe the tune.
A ghost is playing the piano sounds like a story from one of my books about the civil war obviously not a real story but basically about real events minus the ghost
And I'm proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free! And I won't forget the men who died who gave that right to me! And I'll gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today! 'Cause there ain't no doubt that I love this land! God bless the USA!
There used to be a certain version of this song that served as the national anthem for a Minecraft server I once had. It was called UZSPA (United Zesty and Sussy Provinces of Albertopolis) Mine eyes have seen the glory of Lord Fabian the Fest. He is fabbing with much power just to prove that he’s the best. Since we’ve started back in ’22, the past has been the rest. Our glory’s marching on! Albertopolis forever! Albertopolis shall live forever more. Albertopolis forever! Our glory’s marching on! Our Mother Albertopolis of players who all would, Lay their lives down in Survival, give them honor as you should! We’d be meeting up together at Hotel of Oak and Wood, And we’ll all be marching on! Albertopolis forever! Albertopolis shall live forever more. Albertopolis forever! Our glory’s marching on! It is we who started strong and with the villagers did trade. Countless blocks placed Kai and Aiden; endless rails Alberto laid. Johann and Madison would join and lots of memories were made. Our glory’s marching on! Albertopolis forever! Albertopolis shall live forever more. Albertopolis forever! Our glory’s marching on! Then on Independence Day came inaccessibility, And upon said bad disaster, Bert said “Oh my woe is me!” But it lives deep in our hearts and also in our memories, It keeps on marching on! Albertopolis forever! Albertopolis shall live forever more. Albertopolis forever! Our glory’s marching on!
