Fun fact: the Raiders were the home team, and flew down from Oakland (they hadn’t fully finished moving everything because of the strike). The Rams were the road team, and bussed from LA. Might’ve been the only time ever that the road team was able to drive to their game, and the home team had to fly

Yeah. And I watched your vid on a controversy between the raiders and cbs regarding blacking the game out.
@joerules829
@joerules829 Год назад
The only other instance I can think of was in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the NFL moved what would’ve been the Saints home opener against the Giants to Giants Stadium and designated the Saints as the home team. While the Giants wore their road uniforms, it was a partisan Giant crowd. The stadium even called for noise when the Giants were on defense. It was supposed to be a fundraiser for New Orleans. But all it did was give the Giants a 9th home game. They ended up winning the division that year, too.

@charlesvinson8817 Год назад
Instead of flying, they would've been better off spiking the ball on every play

@@davidlafleche1142i've always been more of a fan of our blue and gold unis more than the whites (which are pretty cool). i read somewhere that georgia liked the white uniforms more than the blue, which is why they started weari g them at the coliseum the last couple years before they went to anaheim.
@davidlafleche1142
@davidlafleche1142 Год назад
@@shawnflanagan4995 The Rams ruined Anaheim Stadium. They should have left the Big A where it was. It made a lousy football stadium: the angles were better for baseball. The best uniforms were the 1976 Patriots. (See Patriots vs. Jets, October 18, 1976.)
@shawnflanagan4995
@shawnflanagan4995 Год назад
@@davidlafleche1142 well, the big a wasn't the best place for the nfl. that we can agree on. the rams were looking at anaheim for years before they went. orange county out here was booming in the 80s, and the team thought that they'd go where the people (i.e.: fans). the area around the coliseum had become "edgy" (still is somewhat, though not as much as here) while the area around the big a was developable, and anaheim agreed to the team's terms. the coliseum was way too hard to sell out too, so very few if any home games would be on tv here in l.a. (raiders had the same problem until the place got redone in '93)much of the rams fan base in the 60s and 70s was on the west side of l.a., and the team thought that they would just follow the team to anaheim in sundays. some did, but a lot didn't. they did cultivate a new group of fans, but post-eric dickerson, interest in the team dipped, then fell off the cliff the last 3-4 years before the move
