My grandfather fought on Guadalcanal! we just celebrated his 104th birthday in March. Ended up taking one to the neck in Saipan and that was the end of his war. Got married the day Japan surrendered.
For me this game is unquestionably the best Medal of Honor game (although it was the last one I played through to completion to be fair). It also redeemed that horrible first attempt at the Pacific theater (Rising Sun). For me it was such an unexpectedly amazing game and one of my favorite video games of all time. While I liked the other Medal of Honor games, somehow, this is the only one that really stayed with me over all these years (the amazing soundtrack perhaps only equaled by the PS2 Medal of Honor Frontline really helps with that too... Actually, Frontline was one heck of a game too and also might be another greatest game of all time actually). The fact that I still think of this game somewhat often, for me at least, is how I know it is one of the best games of all time.
for real in my opinon i never played the first two but the best moh were allied assault and the expansion packs{Excluding Breakthrough} , front line, European assault , pacific assault , vanguard ,airborne and 2010 were the best MOH games in general
Yea saying this game is way better than Allied Assault is one of the biggest compliments it could ever receive, because Allied Assault was an amazing classic.
@@CrossOfBayonneonly once the army arrived, which was later on in the campaign. None of the marines landed with garands. My grandfather landed in october, two months after the initial landing, and even he had an 03. The only marines to get garands on the canal were the ones who stole them from the army. Edit; to be clear, he is right, the m1 carbine also was not fielded on Guadalcanal.
@finnie9223 The first Carbines went to Britain as of the Europe first policy under Roosevelt. The weapon showed up in the Pacific by late 1943 because you see pics of them in use on Bougainville
No they did use M1 carbines as well, and Thompsons, I think you meant to say M1 Garand which yes they were using Springfield’s Marines didn’t get the Garand until a little later
