Battle Of Britain The Movie Is An Awesome Metro Goldwyn Mayer And United Artists World War II Historical Action Adventure Blockbuster Movie Of All Time Back In 1969. Thanks Mate. X
Please don't let there be a remake - you cannot improve on perfection and the CGI-fest that a remake would be come would more than likely be utterly horrible.
I agree a remake could never rival the original......however, the aerial footage used in the film represents less than 50% of usable material actually shot (I learned this many years ago from one of the film's aerial team). Some of this footage has been used by other WW2 documentary programs and most of it is available from libraries/archives. Imagine the re-insertion of this footage with some more up-to-date CGI (for example, replacing the RC Stukas in the Chain Home bombing scene) - could make the film even better!
That’s the problem - CGI is just horribly done, usually looking like a cut scene from a computer game and heavily laced with CGI gimmicks, such as bomb POV images. No thanks -would prefer the RC model Stukas any day and twice on Sundays.
I've seen re-makes of several films & in my opinion they're generally not as good as the original version. A case in point is the re-make of Dunkirk. Not as good as the original 1959 version.
I was watching this movie in 2022 on Amazon prime video and I thought 1969 where did they get all those German planes what most of them destroyed in the war what in the Germans so hard up for planes that they was making jet fight a jet fighter out of mostly wood so the people's fighter so what do they get all those 109s and those ankles I mean I'm sure they could recreate them back in but they have ones that really fly I know the Confederate Air Force has a few
The german planes were mostly the Spanish Air Force - much of the Luftwaffe footage was shot over Spain. The RAF fighters were partially real, with those used or blown up in ground/taxi shots purpose built with lawnmower engines! I saw some of the explosions as an RAF Cadet at RAF Henlow in the late 60's.
