Excellent editing, magnificent presentation of that battle and together with the appropriate music make the video a worthy example of a movie. Congratulations from Argentina

I went 4 years through your beautiful school system mate, I think I may speak on how inconceivable the texts books are, I will admit it may have been a one time thing but the fact that is was written there shows that state education can and will indeed fuck up.

Wow dude I'll be straight up, I thought that this was all done within a 3d modeling app like Max or Maya with assets from Poser. I would never have guessed that this was from a sim game. So that speaks very highly to your editing and shot framing, very highly indeed. I know the graphics in the sim aren't cutting edge anymore but man I've worked with 3d graphics and animation before and a short film like this - even with footage captured from a sim - is no small undertaking. Be proud of this bud I'm really impressed! I work in audio and I'd also like to call out your sound design - very well done! Is that Mars from The Planets used as the music? Excellent choice!

A hurricane had a much better turning circle than a Bf-109, this meant in a turning fight or if the Messerschmitt overshot the hurricane then the hurricane could easily down it with its 8 or 12 303. machine guns. The same went for British fighters vs. a Bf-110, which if the fighter overshot then the Bf-110 could easily destroy them with its 20mm cannon and machine guns.

This is without a doubt, the single best flight sim video I have EVER seen. The realism and detail is getting ever frighteningly more and more authentic. At this rate, it will soon become almost possible for the participant to become completely "immersed" in the action. What a remarkable way to learn history!! Thanks for sharing and please post more.

The real question isn't whether it is "fully patched," it's whether your computer can run it. It won't matter how much it is patched if you are using an old integrated graphics card, for example. In my case, it is perfectly playable at good frames per second now, but I have a pretty good rig, with a GTX 580 and an i7 2600K. It all depends on your computer. It's been almost a year since release - it is already more than playable for strong gaming rigs.

@misoswan hhahaha. how can you say that without looking silly? There is no better WW2 combat simulator than this. The detail to aircraft is simply amazing. When you get into battle online you feel on the edge everytime. Probably you are trying to run this on a P4. And that is not the fault of the game. I say BUY BUY BUY. Support the developer as much as you can! Yes you need a powerfull machine to run it!
@2serveand2protect
@2serveand2protect 12 лет назад
Very well done! Impressive! My congratulations! PS. How stupid must someone have been (Goering and Hitler) to send Stuka bombers over Britain to try to make the British surrender. It's a typically tactical weapon - perfect for small-scale precision bombings. What can you expect STRATEGICALLY from that plane?
@CunningStuntsGoFast

@wankertosseroath i got a intel i7 2600 with a gtx 580 card , and i can play the game with highest settings without framedrops . true that it is a new machine and not very cheap , but it is not even a high end machine , this game will be just like the original , gettn patched for years and years untill they reach its full potential .
@CunningStuntsGoFast
@CunningStuntsGoFast 13 лет назад
@wankertosseroath bullshit . why dont you mention your pauper rig with this ? you need a good computer , because this game is made for development , if you do it right , you might have some minor graphic bugs , it will play just fine

Actually, it's just too funny, I get it now why you love War Thunder so much where the Bf109 can win turn fights against planes that where historically better at it. In the IL2 series you actually have to learn how to preserve your energy and learn how to fight like the Luftwaffe pilots did. Too steep learning curve for arcade jockey's such as yourself. Unlike you I am not going to seek out War Thunder video's and dislike em and make crappy comments.

Nazi was a political ideal hence the Nazi party, no individual can be a Nazi, it is a collective term for extreme political views, i wish people would not be so small minded, people wherever they come from are all OK in my book. If every nation bore the sins of the father(forefathers) then we would all be guilty of something questionable that happened because of our countries history's.

... and no Canadians are from Canada nor are "Americans" from America. One thing is for certain, we are all Human. With this, we all suffer the "Human Condition" (Honor, dishonor, greed, hate, generosity etc) and on occasions we fixate and obey one Human as a leader. If that particular Human has strengths in personality which favor control, power, greed, then you get a war. Leaders aren't just governments, they are also CEO's of large corporations :(

Although you say Americans may have gained nothing they helped us drive the nazis back out of France and Italy and all of northern africa. Dont insult America's effort in the war in Europe or the Australians or the Canadians or the Indians or any other country on the side of the allies. The reason you can say these things is because they faught and died for that free speech. Through the blood of our allies are you allowed to say these things. So change you damn name, you shame yourself.

You can't make a judgement about the entirety of textbooks in a country based on a random book you flipped through when some family members came over. What textbook was this exactly and what institution was using it? You're speaking with this air of superiority, but you're not using anything approaching logic in the process. I find it ironic actually; though unfortunately, not at all uncommon.
@astroblaster56
@astroblaster56 12 лет назад
American text books are shit, I remember when a couple family members came over on a vacation they brought their texts books for studying etc. Literally the first thing I see when I flip up the geography book is that most part of Scandinavia live under total darkness during the whole winter..even if It was a minor thing (in which is a total blatant lie) they still print these and give these books out lol
@Nubarus322

The cannons in WWII used on planes where not powerful??? Bwaaaahahahahaha. I bet you would talk different if you got blasted by a German MK108 cannon just to name ONE example, the Hispano 20mm would also be a nice example. Cannons used ranged from 20mm to 75mm on WWII planes so please go read a correct book or don't even bother posting lmao. As for speed, the Spitfire from 1940 flew 378 mph, the later ones where way faster then that so 100 mph is also way off, lol
@Od1n12
@Od1n12 12 лет назад
Let me ask you. Each plane is fit with 200 rounds. and they wern't accurate, nor power, nor speed. And the Korean War had more powerful planes than in WW2. In WW2 they had low powered planes that could go only up to 100 mp/h and thats the fastest. During the korean war the fastest was 685 mp/h. It would be easier to shoot a plane going 100 mph than one going 685 mph. And also in Profits Uber Alles it says. IN THE UNITED STATES, World War II is generally known as "the good war.". Thats not true.
@AudieHolland
@AudieHolland 12 лет назад
Kanalkampf literally means Channel Battle. In the days and weeks leading up to the Battle of Britain, the German Luftwaffe attacked all shipping in the English Channel. This was also done to try and lure the British Airforce or Fighter Command to send squadrons to intercept the German bombers. German fighters like the Bf-109 would then try to shoot down the British fighters. This fighting led to losses on both sides but I think the Kanalkampf was undecided. It then turned into the Battle of Br.
@azynkron
@azynkron 12 лет назад
"The opening scenes are impossible to differentiate from actual WWII newsreel footage". I beg to differ. The water is very CG ( in a videogame sort of way) which immediately lowers the score. The smoke from the ships are off. Poser models are also a no no. That's like playing with dolls, might be fun but they are way too low grade to be able to pose [sic!] as professional material. Sorry, but it had to be said.
@robraver
@robraver 12 лет назад
Wow! thats quite a Sim...the opening part filled me with dread...seriously! watching those ships getting divebombed..for those watching in real life...they must have felt hopeless. I know some are against these sims...but I dont agree..they should be made available, to give some idea of the horror that went on. I have played Combat Sim WW2 stuff before, really excellent atmosphere to it..with some real 'gravity' to the dogfights

Sorry, still going to have to flag as spam - misleading text. The title does not make clear that this is computer game footage, and NOT footage from the REAL battle of Britain. You could have labeled this in a manner that prevent confusion, but you chose not to. Given how well this issue is understood I can only conclude that you were making a deliberate deception to get views, as you got mine.

@TheBlytonian 12 лет назад
@ginjaninja1988 Very nice work on your part. No offence meant. Just seeking to enlighten the 37 who gave it the thumbs up as people tend to believe the Hollywood version = true unless informed otherwise. BTW, Gardner refers to the crashing Spitfire as a Messerschmitt, not a Junkers or Stuka. Aircraft recognition clearly not his strong point. There's another very famous clip of a Hurricane slamming vertically into the deck in which the narrator errantly and ironically refers to it as the enemy.
@TheBlytonian
@TheBlytonian 12 лет назад
@ginjaninja1988 Having viewed the original footage imitated in that opening scene many times over the years -it is included in the "World at War" series episode "Alone", the irony is that in the original footage from which Charles Gardner's audio of the Ju 87s attacking shipping in Dover Harbour to which you refer was plagiarised, the aircraft which plunges into the sea he is reporting upon with such elation is actually a Spitfire.
@funstuff2006
@funstuff2006 12 лет назад
@123mrresidentevil I don't think every Divebomber did that, but I assume you are referring to the Stuka's iconic dive. There was a window between the Pilot's feet for him to line up the target, then when he was overtop of it, he would initiate a dive, rolling over and diving straight down so that he could drop the bomb vertically onto the target. That way you don't have to worry about the bomb falling short, or long, of the target.
@highbrain

Espressoschmekt, I'm always fair - to Germany & everyone else. Germany did have a choice: it could have mobilised but not declared war - it chose war. No -one had declared war on Germany. It's true that war was not in Germany's interest: probably no country really wanted war at the time. Britain - NOT England - declared war because of the FACT that Germany invaded Belgium & Britain had guaranteed Belgian neutrality when it became independent by the Treaty of London in 1839. Wiederhoeren!
@espressoschmeckt
@espressoschmeckt 12 лет назад
@highbrain Come on, be fair: Germany had no other chance but rolling out that military plan. Before that, the German Kaiser wrote letters to all governances to stop mobilization. Germany had no interests to have war. That an easy fact. And the reasons for the UK to declare war on Germany was nothing but a joke: Belgium always was planned as the english military concentration area on europe for the UK, -the UK never gave a shit on the independency of Belgium. There were economical reasons only.

@altan151 If they launched there "test jet" ? Hate to tell you this but Germany already had a "test jets" it was called the ME 262 It flew over Germany and shot down bombers of the US airforce a few hundred were made and they still lost Your facts are not sound And part of Germany's downfall was because they put more afford it to design and time to making things then mass production like the USA and England
@freakyflow
@freakyflow 12 лет назад
@espressoschmeckt 28 June 1919, exactly five years after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Before the great depression of 1929 which Hit Germany hardest. The economic collapse opened the way for dictator Adolf Hitler Many other factors played a role But French and Belgian troops moved into the Ruhr to exact the payment by force. Under the terms of the Versailles Treaty not England
@freakyflow
@freakyflow 12 лет назад
@Dorisequador aswell England Canada France and many other country's told Germany to stop attacking any country or else .. so they were pre warned No one on the ailles side wanted to fight USA even waited 2 years after the start to join ... When Germany started Blitz kreig It was light armored tanks that were fast They never took time to make bigger time consuming heavy armored tanks There thinking was masses of tanks not quality Which changed later and sealed there doom
@freakyflow
@freakyflow 12 лет назад
@Dorisequador Germans didn't have alot of materials or oil thats why the attacked Czech Republic for its raw resources of metal and oil As for weapons and the treaty of Versailles limited arms and the size of Germany's armed forces till Hitler broke it in 1936 by building tanks battleships and aircraft. Hitlers proaganda and giving jobs money, food to the German people is what fueled the war By him pointing the finger at the world for the reason why the people were poor pre ww2
@freakyflow
@freakyflow 12 лет назад
@Dorisequador Many German Pilots thought the same thing Might be why they lost even with greater number and x2 the airtime of the Ailles Spitfire aces knew that running right behind or above a Stuka was a bad move Most stuka kills were from under the tail shooting the belly or a diving pass .. the german tail gunner did not have much clearnace with his 7.92mm gun or could see under the plane
@freakyflow
@freakyflow 12 лет назад
@altan151 I think you have your facts twisted Germany had helos in ww2 They used them as medical flights and recon and test bombing and ammo shipping to rear lines 1947 Usa started designing "attack" guns on helos By the start of the Korean war Most used form of transport and supplys were from helos At this time Vietnam and the french were at war the early 60's seen American troops and air cobra gun ships with rockets

@potctk I don't disagree with you mate. But in the simulation gaming America is all the times kick ass, you know what I mean. When the bombers rides started, the USA had all the time a bigger airplane ration over the Germans, something like 10 to 1. The Americans were winning their fights by doing mass attacks, while German were winning fights doing tactical attacks. There are some vids on youtube about some American guys that keep some bfs, spits, p51 and see what they say comparing them =)

For England to hold on during one of the most decisive battles of the war is inspiring. For us here in America, the war would have been unbelievably difficult to win without their courage, willingness to sacrifice, and stand up to the Nazis in the face of utter destruction. I'm truly glad we have such a strong alliance and Godbless the Royal Air Force

Not a big surpise that Ju87 failed to strike that boat. I read a book on Dunkirk, and the pilots said they had never been trained in anti-ship missions. Good thing they didn't have the cannon armed Stukas in service yet or a lot more ships could have been lost. Top quality video, just stunningly beatufiul and very well composed.

The stuka was a deadly divebomber,but it was very slow,unmanuvarable,and undergunned.They were an easy target for the spitfires.The really weird thing is the stukas built prewar had rolls royce engines.Since the battle if britain occured early in the war,some of the stukas in the battle more than likely had british made engines.
