German tanks did not yet had their winter white wash on in the attack on St. Vith. It only started snowing heavily on the day they took the town. All German tanks and vehicles started the offensive without winter cammo and most of them went the entire campaign without it. The Germans frantically tried to reach the Meuse river as fast as possible. There simply wasn't any time to whitewash or pimp up your ride. Only the vehicles of the troops besieging Bastogne and the later reinforcements when they went on the deffensive had a coat of whitewash.
