Everybody running to their grandparents house to look for 70’s bats in the garage.

For those of us who played in the late 90s early 00s I'd had to say we would win the award for fastest reaction times on the defensive side of the game 🤣🤣

The 1990s is when bats started to get ridiculously expensive and the tech was rapidly advancing. Nice video!

The sound of that CCore and TPX brought back all the feels. Those two came out right before my team got to within a game of the LLWS and we were using those two models throughout that tourney. Such insane pop.

With the reflex c core, if you caught a fastball into the sweet spot, you would get a trampoline sensation of the ball sinking into the bat. It’s a pretty indescribable feeling but you knew that you hit it just right. I was pretty hyped to see Will using that model, it was the first time I’ve seen BBB use it.

I had that 80s Easton. Never knew how much pop it had until i had to use it after my Worth Copperhead was stolen with all my baseball stuff from my dads car. I always thought it was just an old bat my dad used for the sliding glass door as a second lock. I found out fast that it was a destroyer of baseballs. Love that bat

Probably my favorite BB video of all time. You boys brought back some memories with this one. The TPX Omaha and Easton Connection were the weapons of choice when I was in college in the early 2000s.

I was always pumped as a kid, when someone would let me use their Easton or TPX bat in little league in the 90's. My parents wouldn't buy me one, so I felt like a king whenever I got to use one lol.

Playing in the 90s 3rd base and coach insisted that I always play in on the grass. Would not allow me to play back on any play, in any count, ever. Those 90s bats were just insane.

That green Easton 80's bat (without the black band) was a world changer when I first discovered it about 1981. I swear the ball flew much further using that bat, and it felt so sweet when you connected with the ball.

I think the next "nostalgia video" needs to be an all time 90's shootout Easton vs TPX. This needs to be settled.

I was born in 91 & nobody can convince me that 90-01 wasn't the greatest era of the human race. Everything was just different & special. TV, movies, music, sports. It was all insane & special.

My older brother still has one of our Tennessee Thumpers (the 34 inch) that he used to crush baseballs with. I mean hit the ball a mile. I still have my 35 inch Easton (Pop bought that and two 33 inch for me, one with a thin handle and one with a thicker handle). That 35 inch got me the best day of my life, in 1980, with two HR, a triple and a single and I was only 15. Thanks for bringing back so many wonderful memories from my youth.

That C-Core was the bat. Not just the performance, but the crack it made when you hit the ball... It just felt awesome! I still have a Little League one I saved, 29/19. My 6yo is using it this year in coach pitch.

I used that Reflex c core for my last two years of high school. I loved it. The c405 ultra version hit even harder than the one you showcased here. It was the BRX100-CX model. It was awesome watching this. Thanks!

I grew up on the s.s. of chicago and graduated 8th grade in 1999(class of '98') I had an Easton reflex in my last season before high school, and in that year, I hit the pitcher in the chest and stopped his heart, and that year, luckily we got a defibrillator and it saved his life. The same season, I hit a 430' grandslam to win the world series. I swear on everything I love. I loved that bat. I still have it. I was hitting 400'+ homeruns in games. I was average height and weight. My friends were always 2 grades ahead of me, and I was hitting way further than almost every kid in any league I was playing in. I could've probably played for a decent college, but being better than most my age was good enough. To be a college or pro baseball player, you need a certain mindset. It's the difference between being a 'winner' and a 'could have been'. I look back and regret not working harder and being 100% dedicated. We use to play games in high school at sox Park and I've hit 3 homeruns in 6 games played there. None of them made it out of the bullpen but still hit 3 where my favorite team plays. My team mate was brian bogusevic (bogy). He obviously had what it took to be a pro. He could hit further but I had a better batting average, better arm, and I could run way faster. My coaches had many talks with me about being more dedicated and my attitude. Bogy just had what it took to go to the next level and be a pro. I was happy when he was drafted (astros)and was at the game when he played the chicago White Sox.

I was in high school when the 90s bats were outlawed. They were juiced. That reflex was a beast.

I grew up in Miami, and graduated high school in 1994 and college in 1999. The bats we used back then were stoopid. I knew the results as soon as I saw the caption, and when you got to the Reflex I was like "Cool. Video game mode, commence". Take the juiced bats and add in the juiced OG steroid bois and you can imagine some of the bombs we saw growing up. Gawd, I miss it lol

Those 90's bats were nuts. Imagine players like Albert Pujols and Ryan Howard both using 34/29's with that kind of bounce off the bat.

Seeing these bats brought back some good memories. The one bat I used in the 90s was called a Black Magic. I hit the ball so damn hard and far with it. I hit 15 home runs in high school ball with it.

The 1970's Easton B5 was THE bat of choice when I played.. 1977-1986. Once we got to 13-14yrs old, the woods went away and the Easton and an occasional TN Thumper.. I told my son's varsity players about the Easton being an actual hot bat and they were like.. yeah, okay old man.. I posted this video to the team page (Waukesha South).. with an resounding "I told you !!!" LOL Isotoner grips with pine tar. No gloves ?? instant blisters ! I am 55 now and have been hoping and waiting that you'd eventually try one.. They came in different colors too. Blue, green, red & black stripes. I always used the blue. These were SUPER popular. If you would have gotten it in on the hands though ?? IT HURT.

I haven't played in 20 years. Just seeing the thumbnail, I immediately knew that the Reflex would come out on top. The feeling of that bat is in it's own world.

I had that 80's bat as a kid, hearing the sound brings back memories. Seeing what they could really do with a beast of a hitter is fun, hes nailing those suckers.

You know, I'd absolutely LOVE to see Marucci, Rawlings, Easton, etc all commit to making a bat as hot as you can with current technology, just to see what it's capable of. Like the LeMans LMP of baseball bats just to see how insane these things could be if not for BBCOR and others. Give points for pop, swing weight, durability, etc and see who comes out on top. Of course, BB Bros has to be the one to demo them. :D

First of all, thanks for making me feel ancient by describing the 70's bat as 50 years old. Graduated high school in '78, college in 83 and used the old Easton 34-30. I had assumed that they would be more juiced than the BBCORs. Nice to see that they were roughly equivalent and that the few homeruns I hit were legit. 😄

I still got my TPX air attack from 1998. Mine is also cracked lol. The wood grain look in the metal was badass.

My first bat was a Worth from the 70’s that I picked up at a yard sale in the 80’s. Brings back memories when you showed it. Reminds me when I peppered my bed frame in Topps stickers

The Thumper was the bat my buddy carried in the trunk of his car for protection 25 years ago. It was multipurpose use hahaha

So basically what we learned is these bat companies said they were "BESR certified" but in reality they were just doing what they wanted to do the whole time. I want to see what Easton could come up with if they had absolutely no restrictions on bats.

Im 59 now, I used to carry around my green Easton in a special bag, 33-30. Loved that thing

Oh man the TPX Omaha was a go to bat in my days. I also ran with a Black Easton Stealth. It had such a huge sweet spot

I really enjoyed using the 08 Demarini Voodoo. That was the bat that Bryce Harper was using at age 16 to hit 500 foot homers at Tropicana

Result confirmed. I used to hit the Easton Reflex bat in the 90s, it was truly a beast and pitchers were scared of it. 😅

i graduated in 1998, I had a reflex gold, a reflex extended, and a tpx gold. All of them dropped nukes. Honestly, imo the extended was the most consistent. You could hit off the handle or the end of the bat and still crush it. The gold just felt perfect in my hands at least. You didn't feel a thing when you connected, it was balanced so well compared to the other 2. Lastly the TPX was the most inconsistent but when you hit that sweet spot you would hear a ping that would make your ears ring and that ball was going 400+. One thing I do want to point out is these bats made us good fielders. The amount of times I almost got killed at 3rd was scary, had to have some serious reaction times back then. Great video!

As a pitcher i had someone bunt a fastball into the outfield with an Omaha Gold. I HATED these bats and scared as heck of comebackers. If you had an exaggerated follow through it was Russian Roulette if one came up the middle. High 80's fastballs rocketing off the bat 😮.

90’s no question. Hitting with a Z-Core -5 was like hitting with a tennis racquet. I can attest.

I remember getting The C Core for Christmas one year.. The following baseball season, I hit my first over the fence home run and six more.. I loved that bat so much..

Ah! That's the C Core i wanted to see! Those bats were dangerous, and INSANELY fun to use. I put one out dead center with that CCore and didn't even know bc it got out so fast. Iooked up and had no clue what happened. CCore was too hot, definitely not safe. Awesome that you got to try it out. The Omaha was great too. The way it was weighted felt like it didn't weigh anything so you could absolutely rip it through the zone.

The orange stealth was legendary because of the tiny cracks that straight up juiced the bay and automatically added ~30’ to all pop up’s. Would only have been fair for the stealth if it was juiced.

I remember the Reflex being the most popular bat around 2000 when I moved up to the big field & made my first AAU team. I remember the first time swinging a -3 bat after years of swinging -5/-6’s & it felt like swinging a sledge hammer.

I had the same Reflex in high school. Hit a ball 486 feet in 1998 as a senior in the high school homer derby at Coors field. There were guys who were using shaved versions of the bat and it basically made them deadly weapons.

Grew up playing in the 90s. I still remember when a kid got that Easton when I was playing. Needless to say everyone on the team was using that thing. Then we got hit with the BESR reg bats when I got into high school.

I graduated in 2000, and used that Reflex almost exclusively my senior year (it was the team bat bought by the school, we ALL used it!) I had a green and gold TPX that I used my junior year, and I don't think it was too far off from the Reflex either. Growing up I hit with my dad's old green Eastern... Probably the same model used here. Of course, I was like 12 taking swings with it, so no idea the pop it had! Great memories!

I had that green Easton, loved it, cracked near the end and the rubber cap would fall out when you hit, taped the end of it to keep cap on and it still had a lot of pop.

Still have my ccore and used it in high school 97-99 had no idea how much people loved em till I was playing at my sons home run derby.

In 99-00 our varsity coach changed our baserunning fundamentals to only look at the 3rd base coach so your face wasn't open to line drives....on 3rd you watched the pitcher then pointed the top of your head to home and listened for the run command.

I played youth league from 1989 to 1998 and high school 1999 to 2002. Such good times, i miss playing baseball.

Honestly IMO the Worth Copperhead BC45A is one of the hottest bats of the early 2000s (not sure on the release date). I used a -7 version and the ball would fly, but once I tried the -3 version it was a whole new ballgame. Unless you were jammed, every pitch you would make contact on it felt like the ball was gonna fly 400 feet.

I wore two to the face my senior season from the Easton C Core. Makes the nerve damage totally worth it to see it mash in 2023.

Graduated HS in 03 and had the TPX Gold and absolutely loved that bat. It felt lighter and more distributed for weight and able to have quick bat speed. Busted it out the other day and it is still a thing of beauty

Man, this was so fun to watch! Playing 3rd base was rough back in the day 😂...I just missed the 90's, I remember the 2000's Omaha and Stealth vividly. I also remember finding my Uncle's Easton from the 80's at my grandfather's house and playing with it. Man, the memories that just flooded back!

The gray and red Easton Connexion was insane. It had so much pop. We used to buy the 34in and tape the bottom of the handle to shorten it but keep the bigger sweet spot. All the Connexion's that came after didn't live up.

I remember our high school team had all the TPX’s. The Response, the EXO Grid, the Omaha Orange, the Dynasty, C555. You name it, we got it lol. Throw back bro with that Omaha Gold!

Yeah… being a pitcher between the unregulated and besr age was kinda scary. The Omaha scared the crap out of me. Then the tpx genx and the tpx c555 platinum were scary AF too.

I was never a power hittter in the 90's when I was 16-17 years old but one time I got a hold of a curve ball with a reflex and damn that thing went over the CF fence in a hurry and still kept going, those bats were beast.

I used the c core in hs. Hit so many bombs. Pop ups were bombs. The redline was good too but the c405 was my favorite and my redline broke after 1 season. I definitely wouldnt have hit so well with today's bats.

I should’ve kept all of the baseball bats I used when I was a kid! We had so many of the “Thumpers” in our team practice equipment bag! Graduated HS in ‘98! Our bats then were crazy! You confirmed it! Just came across this video, great baseball content, very original! Love it! There are so many different things to compare in baseball, you guys should never run out of ideas! Late 90s was my era. We went undefeated 3 years in a row. Although we had all the best TPX bats, the bat that we mostly all used in our undefeated seasons was an Easton Unibody Flair composite bat. It was pretty rare I think. We were the only team that we ever played that had one. We broke it one year and got a new one for the next year. I still have it. I had the highest batting average in the league at .538.

I played Babe Ruth Ball with the VERY end of the unrestricted bats (I had a Reflex Easton in Blue) and the VERY beginning of BESR (Alot of Kids swung the the Yellow Omaha). Very little difference between those two bats in my opinion. Flash forward to High School (Right Smack in Middle of BESR), the orange Stealth Easton was probably hands down the most popular bat, but it was pricy. I had an Easton Connection with a Sc888 alloy. Loved that bat.

I still have my Maroon TPX bat from 94-95. It had a crazy sweet spot like no other bat I tried at that time. My entire high school team used it. I still take BP with it today. This video took me back to the 90's for sure. Great video.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I graduated HS in '97, pitched in college, and have played adult amateur ball ever since. This is no surprise to me. The one I remember well was the late 90's Louisville Slugger Air Attack, which I would like to see go head to head with the C-Core. Everyone was using those two back then, and almost every hitter was hitting bombs. It was like the whole bat was the sweet spot. Being a pitcher then wasn't easy...

I used to see the Tennessee Thumper at Sportsmart when I was a kid. The 1980’s Easton is my favorite. I remember some of my high school teammates in the 90’s using that bat. However, that 1990’s Easton Reflex is a BEAST!

Graduated in 94 and senior year we had one C-Core bat on the team and it was a beast. Anytime someone would hit one over the fence with the bat we would yell out “C-CORE”!

I used the redline c-core and the regular c-core. Both were super hot. I graduated in 99. So I played with the majority of the last unrestricted bats

I think the Louisville TPX was a game changer. I used it in the late 90s when I played for the Kelowna Jays. CU31 Alloy, Black and Yellow -4 (33/29) BB6. I hit so many dingers with that bat its crazy. I still have it too. Before that I used an Easton Ultra Light (-5) BX1.

That Reflex C-Core was my bat throughout the late 90s , hell ya! This video was a pleasure to watch

I had the softball version of that Reflex bat in summer/fall of 1999. It was the only bat I ever owned that I could regularly hit home runs with.

I swung that green Easton starting in middle school, so around 1992. All my friends were getting the shiny expensive bats and I always went back to the Easton. It raked. Other big bats around then was the black Mizuno with the big ass knob on the end and nearly anything TPX. My younger brother had a blue/green one that he shattered.

We used the C-cores, z-cores and TPS in orthodox softball. They were crazy. Heavy but crazy. I can't imagine how hot they were for BB.

Still got my dads 80s easton. What a classic.

Played late 90s early 00s had friends who had the Z2K and the C-Core as well as the Redline Z-Core. No questions asked some of the hottest bats I ever swung. Used my buddies Redline to hit one of my longest home runs ever Ump after the game said it went 378ft. by their measurement that was at 11 years old just before BESR was made official if I am not mistaken.

You guys should try the Mizuno bats of the '80s. As a player from that era, I can tell you those bats had crazy thump and a huge sweetspot By the way, the biggest gain of aluminum bats in comparison with wooden bats is not the maximum exit velo, but the help a batter got from the bigger sweetspots, resulting in substantial higher average exit velo

I played in an adult baseball league when I was in my mid 30's in 2003 here in Atlanta, and I hit the longest straight away center field walk off grand slam homerun that I have ever hit that traveled about 450 feet with that same exact Easton Relex C405 bat. The crazy thing about that bat is it was my favorite bat out of all the bats we had on the team and the bat was actually already cracked on the barrel when I hit that home run. It was a 34" 29oz Easton Reflex that I still have to this day I kept as a souvenir....I even went in the woods after the game and found the ball.
