Battle of the Fans Chicago White Sox vs Chicago Cubs 2010 Producer: Adam Ceasar, Videographer: Erik Anschicks, Editor: Aaron Kirn Aired on Comcast OnDemand Summer 2010
Ok let me get this straight. Well all wrigley field is, is a bar. Look at it this way the cubs sell there tickets at such a high price. But if you turned the seats in the other direction not facing the field the cubs would still be sold out because all of the fans just want to get drunk. Even though US Cellular field doesn't sell out all of the time, at least they watch the actual baseball. Go Sox!
we know the cubs haven't won a series since 1908. it took the sox almost 90 years to win so neither team is anything to write home about. the sox aren't one of the premiere. they're not the red sox or the yankees or the cardinals or any of the other teams that have won more series than the sox. i hope you enjoyed the series sox fans , because it won't come around again in your lifetime. sox fans seem to base their whole life around this team.
Cubs fans love baseball while white sox fans are........I don't know. White and Black are really dumb colors Red and Blue is fantastic I'm a suppoter of the cubs even though the phillies are my team at #1 White Sox fans are rowdy while cubs fans are really nice people sox fans can drink beer while cubs fans just.......i don't know Anyway Classic rivalry Go Phillies,Go Cubs!
i am not gonna lie that the sox don't have as much attendance ad the cubs, and that wrigley field is a good park and a classic, but it is a shit hole. The cel (new comiskey) is still a great place and just cause we do not go to all of the games does not mean we aren't loyal. And all of the cubs fans talking about your better attendance, how often do you guys go?
Not to mention the one guy talked about the Sox fans hopping the fence to attack a coach.... even though the two guys who did that were actually self proclaimed Cub fans who were drinking at Wrigley all that day during a Cubs day game and then went to the Sox game at night. So actually those guys were Cub fans too, look it up.
Yea when the Sox won the world series everyone went home and slept...... except for the 2 million+ people who went to the victory parade. Notice how the only thing Cub fans talked about here was attendance, because it has absolutely nothing to do with baseball. What a joke
"When the Sox won the world series, everyone slept" - Really, I couldn't hear them sleeping over the numerous riots that took place that night and the day they came back when all of South Chicago went into a frenzy. Try again.
There is no contest.....Its the Cubs a legendary team and the White Sox who are kinda like the Mets to the Yankees. NYC is a Yankee town and Chicago is Cubville. Even a noob like me knows that.
white sox prediction:win the world series 5 years in a row. cubs prediction:........THEY SUCK!!!! they have not won a world series in OVER 100 years. break it down white sox:awesome!!!! cubs:suck!!!!!!!!!
What the hell does the white sox fan at 4:12 mean they have the best service? Would love to watch a cubs game in chicago i'm a phillies fan love the city of chicago Go Phillies
White Sox r better, the history proves it. when was the last time the White Sox won a WS 2005, and the Cubs 1908??? yea but my team's better than both. Yankees boy!!!
I don't even look at the Cubs as a rival anymore, they ain't worth it. Sox have bigger things to worry about. But hey, thanks for 4-5 guaranteed wins every year Cubbies.
None of these Cub fans realize the Sox we're red white and or blue 3 different times over the last century lol. These Cub fans are soooo ignorant to the truth.
Also, fans dont win ball games for you, which is essentially what matters no? Cubs fans have gotten so used to losing that they're likely to disagree with that statement, say its just about traditions and good times, well winning is also huge part.. i love being a sox fan, we're smaller, underrated underdogs, it makes it more "personal". Im from Spain, so it shows you how far our "small" fan base goes. this comment was just about the fans, not the cubs, i hope they win, 2005 was amazing!
i for one am not a Cubs hater, i was rooting for you in 03 and 08. BUT wrigley is always full because of the hyped up environment that harry carey created, Wrigley is a place to go eat, drink and be merry. But thats all the cubs are, just hype, theyre like the Apple iPhone, yes its a nice phone, but people hype the hell out of it more than it deserves. Cubs fans (maybe not you per se) forget about baseball and just go for fun, Youre more likely to see drunks at wrigley than at the cell.
-Sox fans show up to watch baseball not get drunk -Sox fans talk about the World Series they won seven years ago, Cubs fans shove the World Series they have never won in your face -The Cell has wider concourses, beautiful history murals and statues, bigger and cleaner bathrooms, way better and a way bigger variety of food, the fundamentals deck for the kids, parking lots, air conditioned concourse on the 300 level, no pillars in the middle of the seats
Cubs still haven't won the World Series. The Billy Goat Curse still lives. 113 years since their last title. Congrats to the White Sox on winning the last 10 World Series titles. The Sox now have more championships than any Chicago sports teams.
Harry Carry made the Cubs who they are today when he took all of the drunks from Comisky to Wrigley in the 80s, and WGN became a superstation and the country got to see the dump at Clark and Addison. Wrigley became, and still is, a tourist attraction. Half of the Cubs attendance is visitors. This is a Sox town, and has been since the 50s. Don't be fooled. The difference between the fans is, Sox fans don't appreciate losing, not used to it, the Cubs fans think losing is cute, and they are unique for supporting an obvious scam. They bring to mind, what Paul Silas said of another scam team, the L.A. Clippers. He said the owner told him, "Other teams sell winning, we sell hope." That's the Cub scam.
Fanbase allegiance shifts through generations. When I was growing up Wrigley Field was a ghost town. Comiskey Park was rocking with the southside hirmen. The Sox have better uniforms, team colors, logo, stadium, and of course food.
I love the Chicago cubs no matter what! win or lose I will always be a cubs fan! the cubs look really good this year! hopefully this is the year we win the world series! go cubs! Chicago cubs nation!!!!!!!!!!
***** thats because they think its "cute" to lose, here on the south side we take things more seriously and wait till the game is over to party not during it like a bunch of morons. dont believe me? go to just one single wringley game and then go to a sox game you will see my friend who the true chicago fans are.
Just some quick, and TRUE, facts... As of early 5/2013: -White Sox lead the Red Line Series 49-41 (no counting 1906 World Series). -White Sox have 1 extra World Series ring than the Cubs. -When the White Sox played the Cubs in the World Series (1906), the White Sox won! -White Sox have won the last 19 out of the last 27 games against the Cubs. -The B.P. Crosstown Cup (introduced in 2010) has stayed in the South Side SINCE its inauguration. Rebuttal?
There hasn't been as nasty a baseball rivalry like this since the Dodgers and Giants were in Brooklyn and New York City respectively. I'm a life long White Sox fan, and to me a great day during the baseball season is a White Sox win and a Cubs loss
I remember seeing one game at US Cellular Field, it was Sox vs Cubs, and sometime in the middle of the game there was two Cubs fan coming in. Both were wearing cubs t-shirts and caps. And they happen to sit in a spot where a bunch of Sox fans hangout, out of no where I saw one Sox fans telling the Cubs fans to take their shirts and caps off. They refused, so a bunch Sox fans beat the shit out of those Cubs fans and ripped their shirts off. It was funny and sad at the same time.
