Hunting for the Japanese aircraft carriers in the Battle of the Philippine Sea in Battlestations Pacific gameplay mod - www.moddb.com/mods/battlestat...
My great uncle was assigned to the USS Hornet and was the air group commander of Air Group Two and flew a F6F Hellcat during this battle. My understanding is he lead all the air groups in the late afternoon attack as the Hornet was the flagship of the operation. If I am wrong feel free to correct. He directed strikes on the Zuikaku and did dropped bombs and did a strafing run on the deck of Hiyo which set off the gas vapors and added to the damage already done by the dive bombers. He lead the group back to the fleet and waited until all of his men had landed on the Hornet. When he touched down last, he ran out of gas as he touched down, and nearly missed an airplane and ended up on the port 40mm mount. He hopped out but before he could get the photos he had taken, the men holding the airplane let it go overboard. He got a Navy Cross for his leadership and actions during the battle. His full biography can be found here: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_D._Arnold . I will have to pick this game up again and play it.
@@heinzlilio4612 i mean we have plenty of bad historical events, nobody wants to make movies on that, not our fault. Go sponsor a movie showing any of the atrocities we did and see how well it does in the movies lol .,
Man I love this game so much, it's just nothing like it. And (arguably) still the best naval game ever. Yes, World of Warships is a good game, but everything just felt so fast and maneuverable, big battleships doesn't feel big at all. While at this game everything just felt so sluggish. Battleships looks big and slow, hard to maneuver.
What soundtracks are you using here? Had to say it's quite better than the one I've suggested back then Anyways nice to see Bunker Hill and Enterprise working together
Waiting for someone to make new naval game with great graphics. World of warships I thought would be great but found out they like to make destroyers more powerful than aircraft carriers so no I'm tiring of carrier gameplay on that game
No, if you having control issues on PC you either need to rebind stuff or reinstall, one thing thats definite is the menu sensitivity (for mouse) is atrocious.
He had his moments, definably had worst acting issues in the game amongst other characters, still an amazing game for its time period, the thing with the Mod that's being played is no new voicelines were recorded for the new/re-done missions so you'll hear a lot of the same lines over and over throughout several missions. Still a great game, Shame Eidos fell off in 2009, would've love to seen their own remaster of this game.
I havent played any BS game in years. I keep trying to land my torpedo bombers to rearm but they keep just doing touch and go's instead of fully landing. Any advice? Also anyone else not have any audio during cutscenes?
Both are bugs with BSPRM at the moment, Carrier-based planes not landing has been a big for a longer time, no audio in cutscenes is usually only for the BSM missions and or if an audio file was corrupted, regardless it shouldn't affect gameplay too much. For the carrier issue, make sure you arent launching planes from the carrier your planes are attempting to land on, if not that, just fly them into the water or they'll be stuck in that loop for a while.
@@fuso-yamashiro-harunabattl7015 Yep, Taiho was made to withstand bombs and torpedo's (Torpedo Bulks, armored flight decks and hangars) and was supposedly the worlds first supercarrier in that extent, until it was sunk by a single torpedo due to both untrained crewmen and design flaws due to her rushed deployment (at a time where japan was at a huge loss of carriers). Its a good lesson of why you should train your sailors.
