Battle of the Remington’s Tac-13 vs Tac-14 

This has been explained in the other comments. It had to be registered as a SBS because with this particular brace attached. It fell below the minimum 26” length required by the ATF to not be considered an NFA regulated item. This is a good example of how messed up the current laws are. I am sure people are out there who have no idea that they have committed a felony because something is a 1/2” too short. I understand ignoring of the law is no excuse, but to go to jail for something so minuscule would be horrible.

The constitution sir says thays 26 inch rule is not a law and is not constitutional they just wanted money from you the supreme courts ruled with the constitution of the united states of america as law and the faketf have no real power at all judt poeple that got medal badges full autos and a ego trip be careful out there G ​@@firearmsaddictloveguns

@@firearmsaddictlovegunsI know this video is old but what did you make those homemade “tombstone looking” steel targets out of?

@@dylanammons1952​​⁠they are made with 3/8” steel plate and the stands are made with 1.5”x3/8” steel bar stock and angle iron. I made them 15 to 20 years ago before steel targets were readily available. They are set at an angle to deflect the projectiles towards the ground. Yes combat lights are a ting and can be blinding to the opponent, especially when using the strobe feature. I appreciate your comment and idea.

It seems to be a tricky process, because one does not want to simply paint a lighted target to shoot towards... Perhaps you and a Buddy could do some night/ day acquisition drills and come up with rudimentary timing techniques for when tho spot an attacker and then quickly make the Shot before they can use the lighted target to counter attack towards... I would find such research videos very valuable...

The Tac-13 runs flawlessly. I am several hundred rounds in with various ammunition types and haven’t experienced a single jam. It won’t run the mini shells though and I have not tried 3”, mainly because of the expense and my 3” stash is low. Thanks for watching, hope you’re doing well.

But why would you put a brace on it instead of a nice regular stock since you went ahead and registered it as a sbs?

I think you should be able to, but I haven’t tried it.

I did a Form 1 not a Form 4. I like the fact that it folds and is so compact. If I run into issues I can certainly change it out. My tax stamp just came back and this was my first time shooting it. I did not find anything that I didn’t like about the setup. Thanks for watching,

@@firearmsaddictloveguns Im not talking about the set up in general... I mean, any AR stock will fit on the same tube the brace uses... Eh. If I were going to the trouble, time, and money of SBS'ing, I'd just want a real stock. I like braces, they're great for bracing and as impromptu stocks... But a real stock, at least to me, would be ton better. But that's why they make chocolate and vanilla.

All depends if he did his form 1 as a AOW or a SBS. If it’s a SBS then he can put a Stock but it’s a AOW then the brace has to stay.

Sorry to take so long to respond. I’ve been out of town. No the pistol grip doesn’t have to be removed to clean the trigger group.

The design of the brace is what makes it not meet the requirements for minimum length set by the BATF.

Remington has had some issues. But from what I understand they have been taken over by another company who has begun production again.

I tried it with the birds head grip before adding the folding brace it was good, but is much better with the folding brace. This set up also allows it to be fired folded using the pistol grip. Thanks for watching!

Since this video was filmed. The Tac13 has been registered and a AR stock has been added. I haven’t done much with the Tac14, it’s become backup a truck gun of sorts. @@TylorAcostahonestly I can’t tell much if any difference between the V3 Tac13 and any other full size semi auto shotgun. Remington did a great job designing the Versaport and the way it Self-regulates gas pressure, based on the length of the shell. I would like to find some wood furniture for this one and take it to the skeet range. I think it would get some interesting looks. CDNN had some, but I didn’t order in time and missed out.

They have been overpriced for a while. Just keep looking. I found this one at the normal price they should be. I just walked into a shop and they had it in a spot where most people don’t look. You are exactly right, the folding brace makes the overall length less then the required 26”. I appreciate the concern. As I mentioned in the video, prior to the build, it was registered as a SBS with tax paid to the ATF.

@@ToolFoolz thanks I appreciate it. I have wondered how many people purchased this brace and installed it without knowing. The manufacturer had nothing listed on the website about it making the firearm too short. I even emailed them prior to ordering it and received a very vague answer. I have an acquaintance who has one, so I was able to submit my paperwork prior to ordering the brace.

The Tac 13 has the brace the Tac 14 just has the birds head grip and is stick. You are correct about the length of the Tac 13, it is less then 26” and as such had to be registered with the ATF as a short barrel shotgun. All of the specifics are explained in the video.
