LunkersTV it’s got to be the carbs simple fix and a two stroke will act like it’s running good out of water but when you put it in the water under a load it will act up and bog down like it was doing
Hey Rob, Thanks for naming the boat after me. 😁😁 but if you are ever in Gainesville, Ga area hit me up you are more then welcome at my place and we can take out my boat and hit up Lake Lanier and the local river some some fishing. And my range for some lead slinging action.
That would be great considering I live just outside of Shreveport but for that price it’s probably not in the best part of town but there is good fishing spots
Even the Berkley Cherrywood rod is really good to be around $30 or so, with a warranty on it too. Just sayin. Oh and it's sold at Walmart and Ace Hardware stores too. I can't remember if it's in Dick's and Academy or not.
Power pro is not good at all I tied the same every with power pro and power breaks on hook set I bought Berkley line and I can drag a boat and straighten hooks no problem power pro is trash
Both were 6’6” mediums and the lite is actually called a lite because it has more graphite making it a lighter rod. It and the GX2 use the same rod blank and the lite is actually rated for slightly heavier line at 8-17 compared to the GX2 at 6-15
Catfish and carp done a strength test on the gx2 awhile ago and was way stouter than this. Moved his pontoon boat with it. That would be the better comparison
You Didn’t even get to strongest UglyStik so It wasn’t a fair fight. The UglyStik GX2 is the strongest one you need to do a test between it and the Googan squad rod to see if your’s is stronger or not.
Frank Ranager you can’t go wrong with a ugly stik gx2. Only complaint I have is the guides get bent fairly easily and you have to bend them back, but they will not break.
Just got back into fishing after 15yrs, stumbled on your channel and couldn't be happier. You're a great influence on the younger generation and show them the importance of patriotism, being a good father and husband. Keep up the good work brother!
Awesome! Can't get Googan products in the Walmart stores in Montana. I'd love to have a rod and reel spinning combo. I do have it on my list of items that I want to buy! It'll happen!
Rob, I have had some similar problems. I would check the compression, and then check fuel lines and your carbs . Also check the vacuum line on the fuel pump and check for fouling on the spark plugs. I have a 85' 70hp Johnson that has been a pain
You should of done the test against the ugly stik gx2. You know the one the googan rod looks exactly like. Almost like you guys just copied it and changed the handle.
My strongest rod is a Penn Senator 9/0 with rollers, full aluminum handle. It takes a big Cobia, Tarpon, or shark to bow that rod over a little bit. My second strongest rod is an Ugly Stick Tiger rod. It's handled some seriously heavy fish, 100 plus pounds, bulldogging them up to the surface. I use Penn reels and swedish made Abu Garcia reels.
Gavin Schmidt I’ve caught everything from big river cats, to gar and sturgeon on power pro while river fishing....never have a I lost a fish because of they’re line. I finesse fish with they’re lighter lines as well, that double digit in my profile pic was caught on 8 pound power pro, caught more double digits than I can count on both hands and feet on that stuff. Not to mention all the DD’s I’ve landed while frog and swimbait fishing with they’re 60# and I don’t play with my fish I rip them right out of the nasty sh** I’m fishing in, it’s the only braid I’ll ever use and I’ve used literally EVERY braid out there.
The googan squad combo was suppose to come my local wal mart but it hasn’t came in yet. I look everytime I go. I really wanted to get the googan squad combo.
Rob, what you are actually doing with the Googan rods and lines is random quality assurance, you cant get any better assurance than this. Respect from the UK.
I am impressed still love my ugly sticks but i do have 2 of the googans i got at walmart and have landed several 20 plus pound catfish with no issues so far great product
I enjoyed the vid, I’m not tryn to be like all the other haters. I understand you used comparable rods, but when I hear ugly stick I’ve just got that gx2 connotation. I think your test was fair, and gigantic line kicks ass, but in the future I’d like to see the gx2 competition since that’s the big dog of indestructible rods on the market right now
Yeah don't buy anything to do with hunting or fishing from Walmart or dicks, go BASS pro or equivalent or local shop. Ok it can be a tad more expensive but it's the cost of our rights.
Exactly. Notice he doesn't show us the knot he tied when he used the googan braid... he probably tied a palomar, or some knot stronger than a double overhand knot (the only knot he used with the powerpro is a double overhand, or some weak knot similar to it)
@@tylerbratcher6788 I've been using it for 4 years, and I agree with you. Great stuff. It's incredible how desperate he is to promote his products. I actually geniunely believed that he had a good well thought out critical opinion (he convinced me with his confidence in the googan soft plastics), but after seeing him so purposely and intentionally try to make quality line brands look bad compared to his own products, I can't trust him anymore
😂😂 all these people talkin bout the fishing rods or the bet from matt ...... how bout that look u gave after u said u didnt spend much time under the personal section of craigslist 😂😂😂
I must admit, I've seen other tests of the Ugly Stiks and other rods, done a few myself. I have seen both the GX2s and the originals survive much worse than this. I don't doubt the Googan rod, but I think the bias is obvious and makes it seem "cheated."
That’s pretty weird that power pro was braking. Never had that happen ONCE. And I use it for everything that You need braid for. Weird. Might of been the 1 in 10000 chance of getting a braid defect. But idk.
Should probably give the Ugly Stick GX2 a shot vs the Googan rods. The Ugly Stick lite is not a full comparison since it's a lite version. Either way, those Googan rods seem to hold up extremely well and I know I'll be checking out the line for sure.
Imagine comparing standard power pro with 8 carrier braid and tying a overhand knot (even though you said its the same it wasnt) and being surprised when the line breaks at the knot when lifting 15lbs. I get the product pushing but the tests aren't scientific to back up the claims you make, which are irrelevant anyways. Who is lifting 15lbs with straight braid on a spinning rod and the drag cranked?
@@LunkersTV not salty with you I have been watching for a long time and am subscribed to both your channels and the whole googan squad. I support your company I just think these tests are irrelevant and misleading
Not to hate or anything but i've never had any breakage problems with powerpro or j-braid and considering I can get 2.4 times as much braid for the same price and I can also get it on sale on Amazon pretty often, i'll stick to powerpro for my bass stuff.
Don't diss on him like that what the fuck . This dude is a badass veteran who served our great country and loves fishing . Logan Paul is a not even in the same realm and deserves no such respect.👌👊
Wow, a “real American” bragging that their superior Googan line is made in Japan Vs where the crappy Power pro is made, Well that crappy Power pro is made in the good ol USA. Where are those lunkers favorite rods made that are rocking the Stars and Stripes? Would a “real American” put the Stars and Stripes on a foreign rod? (I guess anything for profit) Plenty of great USA made Rods out there of a much higher quality than the Favorite rods that are actually worthy of putting the Stars and Stripes on.
T Hutch I think you kinda salty dud it’s a video this is his job of course it’s for profit but he loves his job your on here hating when you probably work in a cubicle 😬🤭😂😂🤷🏻♂️
T Hutch America is amazing who cares where it’s made it’s a joke get it.... just asked your mom she probably knows all about them, I mean she raised you
100% agree there in it for the money - a top of the line st croix, loomis, falcon or lamiglass rod blows anything favorite away and all those rods a made in the usa except some lower model st croix rods which at least are made in north america.
Hey bud it looked like the back bone area on the googan rod was thicker than the ugly stick. You should try them being the same thickness but I’ll give it to that line is crazy good.
Just a "heads up" but feel you clearly showed your braided line superiority BUT really opened your rod to further challenges. Good luck! You guys do produce excellent products. Mahalo and Aloha from the Big Isle "🤙"
Line wasn't breaking knots were coming untied. Probably tried tying a clinch knot around a 1" diameter object. That knot was just slipping. Do an actual controlled test power pro and ugly stick will dominate. They've been in the industry for so long with tons of money spent on research and development.
I couldn’t find your rods at my Walmart here in Goose Creek SC. I bought my fishing license and wanted to buy one of your rod combos. I will use a rod that I literally have for 20 plus yrs. I hope Walmart carries your gear soon.
You could always hire me to stay at the shop and fix all stuff you guys break. I could even build a van with tools and be a on call mechanic for when you break down at the ramp
I really can’t believe how he kept calling a shit ugly stick rod a gloomis rod. Like honestly those gloomis rods are nicer than his signature favorite rod
