Funny thing, I've just discussed this very topic today with the missus. I just had a voting poll on my Patreon page, and the topics for September and October have been voted for, but I'll definitely see if there are battles between Britons and Romans that I could get enough info on and include them in the next voting poll.

I am just wondering? Why did you made Hannibal hold Crescent symbol on top with green flag? Carthaginians believed Baal. Shouldn't he hold 'Star of David' sign instead(originated from Baal)?

The second Punic war is the only era in Roman history in which I'm more sympathetic to the enemy. You just can't help but love Hannibal :')

I just have to say that this series exceeds the BBC documentary on hannibal and probably all the other ones out there in both elaborate delineation of battles and circumstances surrounding the Carthaginian army during this epic conquest. Very fine piece of art this video

I'm a big admirer of Hannibal and Carthage and this series really satisfies my passion when it comes to that matter. Great work! I also noticed that Carthaginian cities' names are written in their Roman versions, which I find kind of sad hahaha because it reminds me of the eventual reality of the fate of Carthage...

Alexander the Great has the title as the Great and not Hannibal for a very good reason, Hannibal ultimately lost the war even though he won battles. Alexander won both battles and wars.

Last year I got a book on Hannibal for Christmas which has fantastic maps and illustrations. Yet, this video puts those images to shame, as the animation gives a better representation of what Hannibal did and achieved. I can't wait for other videos on Hannibal's campaigns.

Great as usual! As I've said before the quality and thoughtfulness of these uploads leaves little to ask in way of improvements, I still say the pointer to each army is a bit thin but better ... Other than that... You're good man, the small changes I notice, well probably changes I don't even notice do noticeably improve the look, you came out strong with great quality from the start so the videos still feel the same, that's a good thing. Honestly it constantly makes me think of the numerous game ads I see on my phone that look like junk, while this looks like one I might actually try. The main thing I wanted to say is that I LOVE the shout outs to the 5 other channels. I subbed a few before I saw them here, subbed them all after watching. Thanks

@@HistoryMarche Also maybe as an idea, i loved the detail regarding the armies and what type of troops they formed from. It would be awesome if you'd make at some point videos describing the weapons the soldiers were equiped with the way those worked and why they were equiped with just as much, a blink into the financial part of those battles/wars of sorts. I don't know if this would be your cup of history but would love to see something like that! ^_^

HistoryMarche you are welcome. By covering the whole campaign and not just the highlights battles, it's easier to understand Hannibal and his genius. He was trully amaizing. I dont want to tell you what to do, but i think these kind of series are better than just simple, aleatoric battle videos.But that's my opinion. I really hope that one day you will start a series about Caesar. I have the felling that you will make a better one than HistoriaCivilis. Good luck

Trust me. I saw his work and i can see that your's is quite better. He omitted alot in his videos and started to become biased lately, while you payed attention to every detail in Hannibal campaign so far. So ya, you can do a better one than his. Plus, you have better graphics than him, wich makes the videos more entertainment. As a suggestion, if you can and have time, you can use punic music for Hannibal videos; if you will ever make videos about Rome try to use roman/latin music, or something that resemble it. It will make it feel more authentic. Maybe you like this ideea to and consider it. Good luck ;)

Any time Stefan, really like the content you have over on your channel. Italian allies indeed :) And considering the garrison commander was from southern Italy, he likely didn't fancy the Romans too much - the pot of gold certainly helped though :D

The Punic wars were Rome's first real projection of power. The Italian peninsula wasn't the Roman Empire we see later on, it was more of a confederation, with colonies in the north and still very greek orientated cities in the south. These were certainly not the last of the defectors.

Great video as usual HistoryMarche. Can't wait for the next episode - I presume this will end with Hannibal's defeat at the Battle of Zama? Or maybe you could do a few videos on Hannibal's repercussion on the Roman empire considering how much he humiliated them? Also, I had never realized you recommended channels at the end of the videos. How awesome is that! Hey there Barris! Thank you for the feedback, you're most kind. The series will follow Hannibal to the battle of Zama, chronologically as the years progress. It will be quite a long series (10-15 episodes), as Hannibal's story is quite fascinating and I want to present it with as much detail as possible. You're welcome for the recommendations. This is the first time I've done it. You are absolutely right about Cogito. As for the smaller channels, there are indeed tons of talented people running small history channels, these were but a few. Whenever I don't have a sponsored video I'll try to give a shout to history channels who might benefit from my subscriber base. Cheers mate, Mago

I'm mostly working alone on my videos. And I technically produce 2 videos per month, but one of those is for my ongoing collaboration on a Napoleon series with Epic History TV, which is published on that channel.
