I really don't like this tbh. I already pay the premium pass I don't want to pre-order the next game to be able to unlock guns for the current game ?!

I sincerely hope that they get rid of variants of weapons. For me, it was the main reason why the game felt lacking content as I had run out of options 4-5 months in the game. They made sense only in the recon class imo.

i just hope bf5 doesn't have weapon variations, just a variety of weapons and the variations just comes from the attachments you change on you own.

The only real life difference with the 1911A1 in terms of practical use is that it has a slightly different grip profile which means slightly different ergonomics. Doesn’t really translate to video games though

The Thompson was first called "annihilator", so the name in bf1 is correct.

The M1911a1 has engravings that “provide no tactical advantage”

In almost all cases, the heavier the gun, the lower the recoil or “kick” will be. Which is why all your large calibers are heavy as hell. If you shot a 6lbs .50 or anything over .375 caliber rifle you would lose an arm lol

You can also play BF4 to unlock "The road to Battlefield V" stuff.

I get that they have to add other guns to keep people from getting bored, but the Mosin isn’t an M38. There were 5 carbines made, the M1907, M38, M91/38, M91/59, and M44. Only the M44 used a bayonet, and it was on the right side. It also folded and stayed with the rifle. The 1907 was made for rear echelon troops and cavalry and was in WW1. Come on Battlefield, don’t try to be all period correct and then half ass the name of a weapon.

The Annihilator is the original name that the "Thompson Submachinegun" had before its "commercial rebranding" to the 1921 Model. before it was just the Annihilator, or so called Trench Broom. No buttstock provisions, vertical foregrip and hi rate of fire (game is inaccurate since FA fire mode was about 1000-1100 RPM) the Annihilators were shipped but never used cuz WW1 ended somewhat a day later lol. So no copyright issues, just historical accuracy :P

The Charev looks that way because guns that look that way were water cooled, thats the canister that contains it. Also the gold or brass looking cap was were they were refilled.

My Grandfather carried a bar-a2 in ww2... said it kicked like a mule, it was heavy, but it handled business, when needed, without fail.. grandpa was a BAMF.

... about the 21 pound argument for the browning a2: higher weapon weight actually REDUCES felt recoil ('the kick' you mention), everything else being equal. this is most obvious when shooting pistols (metal frame vs. lighter polymer glock-style guns).

Realistically speaking the heavier bar would be much easier to control versus a similar rifle that is lighter. The heavier a firearm is the more weight that needs to be accelerated during the firing of the round, it "soaks up" recoil much nicer than a lighter rifle in the same Calibre.

I've started playing BF1 again and as far as I can tell the fixed quite a lot with the game, but not everything. I still noticed that many of my shots are not connecting (blood splatter and everything but no damage or hit marker) and melee is still a little weird. Other than that, its fun to get back on this game.

I'd love to pre-order, because I love BF1 and BF4 and BF3. But Im NOT convinced at all on BFV-trailer. Im sorry!

Funny thing about the BAR is that it was a superb weapon in it's intended role: the M1918 was designed as an automatic rifle, afterall. Essentially, it was an oversized service rifle capable of automatic fire with so called "walking fire" tactic in mind. But when Americans decided to make it a light machine gun, it turned out to be awful. Small magazine, crap bipod and no quick-change barrel made it unable to lay down sustained fire. Also, for some reason they changed the sight. While M1918's sights were esentially the same as used on M1917 Enfield, which were probably the best iron sights of WW1, on M1918A2 they changed the sight to a tiny and barely usable piece of crap. M1918 was the best automatic rifle of it's time and M1918A2 was one of the worst LMGs.

Biggest visual difference between the A1 and M1911 are the scallops cut out at the rear of the trigger guard.

I would like them to give us long time players a sweet cosmetic like an outfit or and gun skin...with how its set up you can view your career already amd pull up info from bf4,hardline,bf1 and now bf5...i think it would be a cool little nod for some of us

I knew there was something up with the BAR in BF1 but i couldn't quite put my finger on it. This video made me realise!!! the one we get in BF1 is the original model. The one he uses in this video is the M1918 A2 !!! the bar we all know and love from the second world war

The BAR definitely has some kick to it 😂 it’s fires a 30-06... That’s a rifle round, it’s the same round that the M1903 Springfield and M1 Garand fire

If bfV wants to be accurate according to history it should have a great variety of the same weapons with bf1.Plenty weapons that were used in WW1 were also used on WW2 .

The slower firing rate of the BAR is also in Day of Infamy(New World Interactive) and I never knew why it was a fire mode until now.

The Thompson in BF1 is called the Anihilator because the gun was finished at the end of WW1 and thats was its real name so that it was marketed for war and destruction. But because the gun was finished late at the end of the war he changed it to Thompson and started marketing it as a anti-bandit gun for the police force and later was changed to Thompson M1A1 for the new variant that was made for WW2 to be more reliable.

You can actually get the tommy gun through a challenge on assault class

"The A2 weighing 21 pounds probably kicked hard going fully automatic" This isn't how recoil works, you WANT a heavier, longer gun for recoil. 30-06 in a M1 Garand (10 pound rifle) does not really recoil very hard unless you are laying or sitting, but that's just how physics work. Sure a 30-06 full auto rifle is going to kick, but the weight helps, it's not a hindrance.

Anyone remember when you preordered premium for bf1 before game release date got no bonus. After release when you bought premium you got upgraded dlc. I’m waiting.

They did that before bf1 came out, if you got 100 kills with the M1911A1 in bf4 or hard line you got the incarcerator camo which looked pretty sick

I saw an Xbox key on Kinguin where you can get just the 5 weapons and Beta access for about 7 euro. Just in case you don't want to spend 60 Euro just yet, but would like the weapons and try out Beta before buying.

Pre order the game on amazon. That way you get the 5 weapons and the BFV beta. While not having to pay for it until a week before release

It's not a copyright issue with the Tommy gun. It's that the trademark was too expensive, everytime a developer uses a real world gun in their game they have to pay trademark to the company that licenses it. In this case the license must have been too expensive or unavailable at the time. That's right, by playing fps's your supporting weapons manufacturers and effectively war.

That ending score... damn, it would be a lot better if they released some modern era game with the same name Battlefield V it would make sense in terms of continuation of the series and would please tons of fans (including me) P.S BF3 had a decent soundtrack!

It would be a copyright issue because Thompson's are still being manufactured both fully automatic versions and semi-automatic version fully automatic versions obviously being only allowed to police law enforcement and military personnel

The heavier a rifle, the more manageable the recoil tends to be in real life. The BAR also features a pretty long barrel which also aids in recoil management. So while the thing was ridiculously heavy, I imagine most of our soldiers in WW2 used it to good effect, probably prone most of the time to aid in accuracy.
