Well, I played the open Beta today with some friends. I am much less enthusiastic about this game than I used to be (my friends feel the same). There are several issues, for one it always sounds like there are people fighting all around you, but there never seems to be anyone around. I can't count how many times I was sure someone was just around the corner or over that wall only to find there was no one around at all. It keeps blacking out my second monitor for some reason (this has never happened in any of the other BF games) and sometimes it would just flash from black back to the desktop until I ALT-TAB out and back in. Nothing but snipers around most of the time which means you pretty much get killed before you can get anywhere because there is no cover in about 80% of the map. Even if you can find where the sniper is, it's impossible to do anything about it unless you have a sniper rifle. It's really difficult to tell enemy from friendly players unless you are up close. When someone is in the back of a vehicle their team symbol doesn't show over their head, but over the front of the vehicle which can be very confusing, especially if the vehicle is partially obscured behind something. It's almost impossible to tell where shots are coming from and it seems that weapons do way more damage than in other battlefield games (I guess because there's no body armor?) so getting killed as soon as you spawn in happens constantly. Overall, I'm having much less fun than I have in other Battlefield games. At this point I think I'll be waiting until this goes on sale to buy it if it doesn't improve dramatically before the open beta is over. On the positive side, it no longer launches from a browser, which is great because it never worked with my default browser and required me to launch the game from Internet Explorer every time I played (whoever though launching a game from a browser was a good idea should get punched in the crotch).

I always hated people that used that flamethrower but I used it today and I went 40 - 0. :)

I feel like the tanks in the beta are a bit too op, if they could increase the damage of the anti tank grenades then it could be fine also they should add more options to take down a tank in the different classes cause it feels like the scout class and support and medic have no chance against it however only the assualt class. It would be great if they could sort these things out.

no joke the very first time I picked up that weapon at flag f. I got killed by a guy riding a horse.. I shot him about the same amount as you and it said he had 0 health. I wanted to punch the tv

tbh the horses are a bit op bc I shoot one with a f9 the big gun you shoot at planes I shot like the whole round and it still dent die the f9 is the worst gun to use agints ppl,horse,tanks and etc besides planes idk why but they take planes down fast

Horses can take way too much damage, or cavalry soldiers to be exact. I was on foot at one and the combo of powerful rifle, health, and ammo and anti tank grenade plus body armor is too much. Tanks need the self heal to be less effective. 10 or 15 hp per heal. Their guns are too good too. Canister shell way too effective at medium or long ranges. I went 44-1 in a game of rush yesterday. Snipers are not OP, however the rest of the guns need a bit of accuracy buffs. Snipers only feel overpowered because they are so much more deadly than everything else.

Getting a 5+ killstreak with cavalry is hard (unless you go the cheap route and dismount, that doesn't count). I haven't even managed a 10 killstreak yet, but I have come close a few times

Just played the Battlefield 1 alpha on the PS4 and it is sweet. You did pretty damn good Simon. The last Battlefield I played was BF2 on the PS2. Unfortunately I probably will not be able to purchase the game because I don't have the $$$ 4 it. But it's a cool game that shows fighting from a forgotten war even though it was the first war that modern combat and weapons were used.

The artillery truck is essentially overpowered. I went on a 25 killstreak with it. If you can't reach top of the scoreboard with that fucking thing you need professional help. Just saying this, it doesn't apply to the video. The video itself is great, thanks gang!

Anyone else having issues with performance issues with the beta when you dont have issues with any other games? I play Overwatch on EPIC at 60 FPS easily, but have issues with this game at High settings running about 45 fps

Why are the objective/flag icons so big and bright on Xbox it's so fucked the hud is terrible, player names and objectives get in the way constantly even with the opacity on 0%. They sort of follow the flag up as its raised on PC and don't clutter so much of the screen which is much better

The graphics and atmosphere are incredible in the game. For me though, I am not a fan of Conquest or Rush. I'm more for Domination or Team Deathmatch. I think I'll buy the game but still play Hardline until it is out.

Just touching on the weird bit with the guy flying off the back of your vehicle there, I seen some weird graphical stuff from people leaving vehicles or horses. Their water canister strap seems to be made of elastic. Looks like some of hula hoop or some cartoon effect spinning around the soldier as they move. Only lasts a few seconds, could be lag of course ;)

Had the same thing happen to me as Simon. I put one magazine from the MP18 and two from the M1911 into that horse and it still killed me, walked away with zero health.
