I added on and edited Battlefield 1’s Apocalypse Soundtrack to depict the horrors of the Somme, Caporetto, and Passchendaele. Hope you all like it and subscribe! Thanks for watching!
It's crazy how immersive it is to play on Passchendaele, that sh*t genuinelly looks like the end of the world. I love how WW1 was portrayed in BF1, specially in the way the maps look.
They dialed it down for fun cause it's a video game and that's the point but it makes you think of what HELL both sides had to go through during the great war
@@Sodapop-rd5ku Yeah, that's pretty impressive tbh. They didn't sacrifice the fun aspect for historical accuracy or the other way around. They achieved a really good balance between the two.
@@zatderpscout6017 Yep. Battlefield 1 may have not been realistic, hell it wasn't even going for that, but damn did it do a great job on immersion and atmosphere.
@@zatderpscout6017 exactly right. The atmosphere was certainly realistic. I thought it was a cool take on the war to include prototype weapons and machines as well. Really added a “what if” aspect to the game
Aesthetically, my favourite Battlefield DLCs have been those that create an atmosophere of frenzied, prolonged, almost guerilla-like combat...Apolcapyse for BF1 and Aftermath for BF3 come to mind. Scenarios of a sizeable but still undersupplied unit exhausted by months of fighting is so cool to me.
@Simon Bolduc man, as a Belgian, i've been in Passchendaele, I stood in the Zonnebeke Church (objective A in conquest) , i've been on those fields, streets, i visited many bunkers turned into museums there, i looked back at history and thought, man, this is crazy.
I got River Somme last week. I was a German shock trooper and we were being pushed back to our last line the Music picked up and I was like oh shit what’s going on so I hide behind cover, and then I heard the BAGPIPES and I knew we lost that battle at that point
@@hx20games77 I feel the self hero part was a design choice. The game already has fortnite/warzone style specialists, probably to try and sell more skins and takedowns. The self hero part is probably trying to replicate the battle royale feeling.
bro the second song is scary as shit, its like a perfect description of what those soldiers felt as they charged the enemy trenches, its just pure dread, terror and confusion
You passed through mud and blood. You raided fortresses and climbed mountains. You passed through dense forests and hot deserts, French countrysides and cold Russian fields, sailed through rough seas. Now you are thrown to Passchendaele. Thick gas to the left, raging fire to the right and meat grinder ahead. You dared to fight, you made it this far, here is your reward - welcome to hell
