@@shortRAGE Extremely true. I don't think it's that big of an issue, but after getting used to 2042 I literally couldn't make myself play 4 again, it's just so slow and not at all as arcadey. Oh and trying to play both games back to back just destroys your experience, in both titles.
I’m new to pc and definitely am dialling in my keybinds. Putting pitch up/down on space and ctrl is so clutch. Some much more control when aiming as your pulling up or down. Thanks for the great tips 👌
Good guide, this is definitely gonna help players who want to start flying jets :) 9:26 But i'll have to disagree here. A competent nightbird pilot is one of the biggest threats you face in the jet. Attack heli and stealth are rarely a threat tho.
Heh, I've been watching a lot of BF2042 videos lately, haven't played a Battlefield game since the early days of BFV so these tips are very helpfull. Thank you.
The only time I can say the hover mode comes in handy is doing a bootleg Cobra. If you pull up while activating hover your nose goes right up just like a regular cobra, slowing you down very fast. This is very useful to shake a jet you can’t escape. You will be very vulnerable while this is happing though.
So ghost I have now watched both your jet tutorials and they have helped me a lot, especially the pitch up&down binds🙌 We really need the dogfighting tips now!
The 25mm is much better for strafing ground targets than the rockets. I still wish for some unguided bombs or a big unguided missle. Like in bfV you had the glide bomb that would pretty much destroy a tank with a direct hit. I miss dive bombing... The agm just don't do enough damage unless the enemy armour is already ingaged with team members. Going 1v1 against the aa tank is pretty much impossible unfortunately.
Your videos have given me some knowledge to get proficient in helis. I’ve been doing ok in Jets. But these tips will definitely help. Thanks for the video! The US jet feels easier to fly, more nimble for me so I struggle in the SU-57.
I disagree with what you said about sensitivity. You want to aim for 100% sensitivity on both the heli and jet, and then lower the vehicle sensitivity to whatever your preference is. This is because those sensitivities make the handling a lot snappier, and lowering them can make everything feel very sluggish in my experience.
One of the biggest problems I have with Jets and aircraft in general is they are allowed in the enemy spawn. This means that if I spawn into an aircraft later than the very start of a match the enemy jet is likely circling my spawn waiting to spawn camp me immediately. I think this may be part of what encourages wildcats to sit in their own spawn and never move (super frustrating to see a vehicle wasted this way). I've always been for strong spawn protection and BF2042 has pretty bad bare minimum spawn protection with the countdown timer for enemy infantry and ground vehicles only. In some maps enemy wildcats can even get a line on you as soon as you spawn in an aircraft. These are some of the reasons why I feel really discouraged from flying aircraft.
@@xgtwb6473 Yes that is one good measure. But I think it would also be necessary to prevent enemy aircraft from entering or going behind the spawn so they cant flank aircraft as they spawn (or farm infantry from choppers). The main spawn should be sacred and the safest place on the map.
I’ve definitely used the VTOL on the f-35 to have my adversary overshoot me and I can get missle lock and he can reply flares and I can regain and gun and run
Jets were in a good place before, su57 had speed and pitch control was quicker and it was more controllable at lower speeds while f35 could roll and it’s rudders were more effective and had vtol mode. It gave jets some variety and was more close to how the jets are irl but dice just threw that all away
I mean to be fair ur totally right in ur opinion BUT as game developer, balancing is a big topic and before the su57 was the way better "pick". I personally think that the changes they made doesnt give one team the better air control anymore which is game changing
Kinda sucks that your advice feels like it's for PC players only. And you have never flown a jet with a controller. There are only so many buttons on the controller. And I can only bind so many buttons together. I actually started flying about 4 months ago, I'm pretty decent with my cannons when it comes to shooting tanks and other jets but I'm not good at strafing choppers or shooting infantry. Have you ever considered trying to fly with a controller so you could actually give console players some advice/tips? How would you bind your buttons if you were using a controller? Looking forward to your next jet video.
Ghost doesn't play bf on console and as far as I'm aware doesn't have a controller. Because of that he doesn't have any experience to help anyone with it, in those case he doesn't offer up advice as it could be wrong.
@@aesemon5392 right so his tips are for "PC" players "only". No need for someone who is on console to watch or subscribe to his channel. Thanks for the help.
I use a server for RendeZook practice, but it’s equally good for jet practice. There’s like 40 enemy jets that are set to a hard difficulty that will constantly try to fight you. Code is AANVVN.
I would love to see your tips and strategies for dogfighting. I’ve found to shake a tail it’s effective to repeatedly and rapidly slow down, change direction, then speed up again, especially pitching up from flying horizontal, then changing back to horizontal then to some diagonal direction for lack of better words. I do still have trouble getting behind a good pilot though, if I’m dogfighting with a competent pilot we usually are just coming straight at each other again and again until we hit each other by accident or one of us crashes lol
Actually hovermode has saved me from not being able to get jets off my tail, its like a instant break check then they just fly past you. Works for me almost everytime
I'm kinda sad. I feel like I've learned all the tricks to the jet and I'm way better now. No not tricks to learn, just improvements in execution. Love the jets in this game fr though, so satisfying
Ty so much I am looking to fly so much better but after changing from console to m and k after 15+ years I do be struggling. I will be trying your tips on stream next time we play this and will quote your tips. ❤ thanks again!
Is there any way to practice flying with little to no threat so I can get more use to how they handle. Great vids thanks for the work you put into them
Try the single player / bot game options in the main menu or an empty Portal server. TheCadWoman has a good Conquest server vs AI you can use, the code is AAXJBJ. Make sure to set a password so you won't be disturbed and have fun flying!
Make a portal match and make the vehicle spawn as fast as possible so if and when you crash. You can get right back in the jet instantly. But make it private with a password so people won't jump in your match and basically bully you.
i've seen some very threatening little bird pilots with their cannons against me. I think his name is Hazen or something. Be careful out there :D I'd love to see an evasive maneuver video.
Any way to get so stable aim when zoomed in while flying? Is there a setting for this or just a thing to get used to? I have a very hard time keeping the cursor on infantry on the ground when trying to shoot at them from the sky.
Most likely sensitivity issue. Try different sensitivitys. Put them higher/lower than test it! Good luck ps: what helped me when i started learning, to focus on your mouse aim. Back then i instinctively tried to aim with my keyboard at the same time which messed things up for me
I just think the hover mode on the F-35 was uncalled for. It should of been like in Bf4 where it only came out if u were at low speeds and landing . But i didnt know they nerfed the Su-57. I remember seeing videos how it was superior at turn fighting
So let’s say I’ve been killed by wildcats over and over and I want to get rid of this guy. How would I do it? AGMs and 30mm combo. And how effective is the 30mm against jets?
Question - when you are pitching up, do you mostly rely on space key or on mouse? I found myself using space way more, since at my sensitivity setting, the pitch up on mouse pretty much is useless, while the rolls are ok. Does sound right or should I rely on mouse for pitch control more?
Not sure of if it intended or not but in the f35 after using hover mode and going back into flight mode, it will control the same as the su57. it does for me anyway.
How the hell is this a good tutorial bro you need kills to unlock this stuff WHICH YOU CAN NOT DO SENCE YOUR ON THIS TUTORIAL HOW IS HE THIS GOOD IM ANNOYED
Hovering can br helpful against vehicles if you run agm's and a 35mm cannon. If you know the skies are clear and no wildcat, you fan solo a tank p easily
and get sniped out of the sky by the 9 other things you didnt mention. afterburner for DF in certain scenarios and if you need to rep but those are very situational, using it like you+ me getting a free kill inf just liz or 1 of the other 2 dumb fired ones helo ez tow or cannon or jet 25mm beam , or they end up crashing 99% of the time and thats me u still mbt and the rail tank and tow from mav 3rd seat bolt second ram also can double as aa and soflam stinger and jav fags liz ez like is a joke for all air vehicles rao ability and every other person the lobby maybe using 1 or more even tho 1 decent liz player will shut down an ace jet pilot. idk did i forget something? ea/dice is fucking brain dead and went full retard when it comes to things that make sense so, that being said if you don get shot down yeah it works might as well be playing the lotto though and you get way more kills just strafing inf with 25 mm and its way better for dog fights. agm over hydra still even after buff too inconsistent
His video are good for what it is, but he’s lacking on showing people actually how to fly, which is the main gist of what is missing in this video as the population of this game can’t really fly jets. It would be great if he’s showing how to fly and aim on the cockpit with the mechanics with keys instead showing up just key binding.
The jet overhaul was the set of changes to turn rates that was introduced with season 4. Since then they’ve added rear view control and messed up the yaw acceleration, I’m hoping they plan on making a few changes since they still feel floaty and simply annoying to control.
No its not "X" where you go into hover mode in the F35. Its the key "Y", because "X" is for the countermeasures when you have standard control. Ofcourse it stays like that when you didnt change the keybind.
