I am still coming across your videos since subbing a year ago. What I love about your videos in the BF2042 genre is that you are honest, to which the others rarely are and the gameplay they show. Thank you for these strategies.
I’m glad you’re enjoying it - it’s really important to show honest actual gameplay that normal people logging in after work or whatever we do can achieve. It’s great seating the high end players but it’s not really relevant to us regular Joes. I hope ppl find these useful and a little “in” to help try out something new as BF really is an amazing franchise despite the issues along the way.

Nicely - I’d written the Bolt off as a useless afterthought the Devs didn’t really know what to do with after it got out with the MAV. Should go back into the Light Vehicle category & ditch the Hovercraft (we all know it’s useless!). Nice vid, really appreciating the effort you’re putting into this channel. Like waiting for the bus that never comes 😅 The Bolte was better when it was in the light vehicle class but it made the LATV irrelevant. So they moved it. Now with Season 5 it’s the RAM’s turn to ensure there’s always a wildcat. People really going to take the RAM over a Tank / TOR? I don’t think so, personally. Thanks for the support, appreciated. I never choose the war god machines cuz I don't know how to utilize them. I feel like a sitting duck and often die quickly if I drive one of them. The bolt, on the other hand, is my go to in that category. I love the cluster mines in particular. So many times somebody is running up to shoot me out through the glass and I slowly "run away" while pooping out the mines. They never know what hit them. Or cheeky strafing runs where I try roadkilling a bunch of them and cluster mining the rest. :3
So you use the anti-personnel mines? I can’t say I’ve ever tried them, though sounds like they work for you. I’ll give it a go. No more glass shooting though, that’s been patched out. The Gods of War are only as good as their crew. If they’re at full compliment with engineers it’s pretty much invincible, even. TOR cannot defeat it. Only things which can stop it are 3 AT Mines or 3 C5. I adore them, absolute masters of point capture. Also can’t knock their infinite spawn potential. I’m a huge fan of the Bolte and can get results for sure - but if it’s a war? I’m going with their Gods!
Never knew the Bolt could do that - I know you’ve shown runs here as you said but I’ve got to ask, and be honest… how often do you actually get a good run like that? I mean if that’s typical they’re the most powerful vehicle in the game 😂👍
Honestly I never leave a round completely empty handed. Sure sometimes you get blown up before you can make an impact but that can happen with any vehicle, right? I think this video was pretty fair! You should be getting a few big beasts if you pick it. Especially if you flank. Thanks for the shout out! Enjoy patch day 😅

@ 1:21 I'm glad you point this out to your viewers. You need to be as influential to the game as the CAV and MAV if you want your team to win since you are taking up one of those slots.
It's true -- think before you pick. There are times the Bolte can be genuinely useful, but equally if the round is tight, go for the MAV or CAV. Thanks for the feedback

Glad you enjoyed it - yeah the windscreen improvement is great news, lost a lot of Boltes to snipers. The Bolte is a monster, it can hold off a small army at the right spot & a splashing of luck. Give it a shot!
Nice! I'm glad someone has finally figured out the Bolte! Question: Do you recommend the thermal smoke over the repair because of the smoke cover which you can use to cover your mines? I always thought that the repair would be best since it can save you after you have taken a hit by replenishing your speed. It is sad that it still shares the same slot as the MAV and the CAV. I always thought that the RAM would be best in this category because of its deploy beacon. The mines that the bolte deploys are also tougher than infantry mines. They can take quite a bit of infantry fire before they finally detonate. Hope you are enjoying season 5! I'm looking forward to what you bring next!
Good point I really should have clarified that - yes, the smoke is to conceal the mines / get some misdirection when you’re up close. Also helps to be able to break missile locks as one hit can pretty much ruin your run. Repair is ok, but it’s too easily interrupted & smoke has more utility. Kind of ironic I’m arguing for smoke, isn’t it 😅 The Bolte is good, but it needs to be jailbreaked. It’s a hard hard sell to pick it over the CAV or MAV, but it can be good. So good. I also like it because it’s the only vehicle with gameplay of its kind in the game. The MAV and CAV, Nightbird and Apache have their differences sure - but they play much the same in terms of fundamentals. The Bolte I think stands alone. @@timelessgamer_UK Haha, yeah, I guess that is a bit of a flip. Hopefully Dice figures it out when they notice the Bolte's low pick rate. Oh yeah, I would absolutely play the Bolte, I usually suck at these 'hit and run' tactics, which is why I think I struggle with the RAM so much, but it is something I hope to improve upon. I'm having a great time; the new map is great fun and I've been loving playing with the portal weapons more. I do wish that we got some more AP underbarrel options though... I was really counting on it. But the RPG is a fun time.
Trying to unlock the RPG now, need to put the Lissiles down. I like the hit and run, but I suck with the RAM. Anyway the RAM is in jail hell now it’s been paired with the Tanks. Can’t see it’s pick rate surviving. I would like the Bolt and RAM to be in the same category. That would be fair.
@Timeless Gamer its a 3 hit kill on MBT if you hit the side or front. You only get 2 rockets but can carry 3 similar to the M5 (but with 3 on spawn and 4) it's been very fun to get used to. The only problem with another vehicle category is that it means even more vehicle spam on some maps that just aren't made for it...

Good video!. Has you know i realy love the bolte too. Its a fun/strategic vehicule to play. Its the blitzkrieg tank. Its also a great tool to roadkill opponents.. 😜 It reminds me a bit the cavaleryman in BF1. Keep up your good work.

I’ve just started playing fairly regularly with some friends, we had the most amazing run with a fully crewed CAV the other night. It truly is a monster. We ended up capping the entire map. AA flak cannon is a must especially since the new vehicle count & death choppers were introduced. People not squadding up is such a shame in this game. I wish there was a way to let casuals like me find people who actually want to play together vs just being one another’s occasional spawn points. I don’t have time to go trawling discord servers to set up teams - we really could use something in game.

You're right, this gameplay doesn't dissappont anyone looking for that cheeky, rampaging joker playstyle lmao Driving over an enemy vehicle and dropping mines should net you extra points lul. I'm impressed by the value you got out of it with your actual strats I watched several of your overwatch vids like I mentioned I would btw, I really liked em. They were genuinely usefulI, taught me a lot about Reinhardt especially. You picked up on Mei really quickly. I wish I had more feedback to give than I do, I think you really are just criminally underrated by the algorithm like Dan said. I think if you do try making more overwatch content you should just do it when it's fun, maybe try interspersing short casual vids and just give it time overall. If a video doesn't perform that definitely doesn't mean it was a bad one imo. Just my 2 cents tho of course Great video, luring enemies into mines never gets old. Oh and the tactical tornado riding at the end was golden 😂

It really does have unique gameplay and sometimes I think we just need to remind ourselves this is a game - and even if it’s a little inconsistent, the Bolte is fun. That’s reason enough to pick it… I know some ppl might get mad at me for saying this, but - who cares who wins the round? It’s not OW Competitive is it? 😂 Overwatch… oh Overwatch. I love that game, but the toxicity at Plat is just unplayable. It’s not that often aimed at me, but I really can’t stand poor manners and being deliberately rude to people (real life thing). The viewership just didn’t like my message of positivity and sportsmanlike conduct. I of course could have changed my style but that’s not fun - so, pass 🤨 OW is in a baaaaaad place with the recent PvE letdowns and the total exodus of the Dev team. I try not to jump on bandwagons but this really isn’t good. I still play but have quit ranked. Honestly it’s only slightly harder than Competitive if you meet the right opponents. Perhaps one day if this channel is successful I’ll come back to making vids but the reality is I can do one vid a week. Am I going to do it for BF where people actually engage, or for OW where thus far nobody really cares what I’m saying? I still love it though and play privately with friends. Maybe one day :)
@@timelessgamer_UK I agree, playing what's fun over what's meta is the best way to play any game. I do try to remind myself sometimes what's fun is what's meta to someone, but a lot of people would have more fun if they played what naturally appeals to them. If everyone did that more the meta would be less enforced too. Oh trust me I get it, I literally report someone almost every match for bullying someone, I've even reported a couple teammates for saying I carried and then dragging the rest of team, slightly proud of that lol. Plus, like I mentioned, I only play quick play. It amazes me people care enough to be mean in that mode especially, I'm sure plat is oh so lovely a place to make friends lmao. I say do whatever you enjoy, I actually wouldn't make content on overwatch either rn if I were a yter, just letting you know what I thought like ya mentioned. I'd be remiss if I didn't say I bet some people really appreciated your message of positivity. I'm sorry some didn't. Focussing on one game will help your channel grow I'm sure. Overwatch is definitely in a rough spot. just like using off meta, it's best to make content bout whatever you actually enjoy :)
I’m lucky that I really enjoy BF, so happy to stick here. I will say though when Space Marine 2 drops I’ll be playing that. I’m a huge 40k fan. Overwatch is just a bit of fun. I leave the chat box on as I like saying GG and for the most in quick play people are alright. I will say there’s been a huge uptick in cheaters lately. It does ruin it!
@@timelessgamer_UK I've never been into 40k before, but some lore vids popped into my feed a while ago, I wasn't expecting it to be so crazy haha seems real interesting. Yeah most of the people I encounter in quick play are chill, just playing the game, it's sad how just a few cheaters/toxic players can ruin so many people's fun. Cheating has gotten so bad, especially with third party devices on consoles

The Bolte is serious - I meant what I said at the start of the vid, I thought it was a bit of a joke too. After using it I’ve seen it’s really not if you use the AT Mines. Definitely give it another look. I hope it can be moved out of the MAV / CAV category as it’s a little stranded there…
@@timelessgamer_UK yeah you make it look very easy and effective in your clips, makes me want to try it. But as you say many times in the video, it's hard to justify it's use over the other transports for 90 percent of situations. Which is unfortunate. Personally, if it's going to stay in the transport category, I think they should give it an excellent anti infantry weapon (the 30 mm was almost good, but it should have had increased accuracy. The nerf was a bit too much in my opinion) and a deployable team spawn beacon like the RAM has. That way, the bolte could be a weaker option, but faster and taking a complete anti infantry role (with anti tank mines for some balanced anti armor gameplay).
@@Jordblitz I like the idea of a RAM insertion beacon to compensate for the troop spawning element it clearly lacks. if it had that, it just might be viable as a high speed ambush / pain for the other team to deal with. Could also use just a kiss of an armour upgrade to give it that little bit more of a chance to get away when under fire. But as it stands yeah, 90% of the time, take the other two.
I need to explore the anti-personnel gameplay. This game is huge, so much more to do. You got any good clips / gameplay tips? Tricks that work for you?
@@timelessgamer_UK no I don’t record my gameplay but on breakthrough I use the bolte with cluster and thermal and do a lot of damage. Typically, that setup isn’t as conducive on conquest because tanks and air vehicles dominate. On hourglass breakthrough with a gunner you can easily get 30 kills to start as an attacker destroying defenders on A1 objective by just smashing through the buildings.
Idk if this method is a "best way" but I reverse M5 bolte into enemy, drop & floor the throttle at the same time to get away from the explosion. Kinda like a reverse car bomb. yes failing to get away before mines blow up means u die but getting ppl suddenly caught off guard by AT mine layer kill is just what makes this so fun to play with
I don’t think there’s a best way and had I thought of this I would definitely have given it a try - sounds awesome. The Bolte is hugely fun & ‘actively’ killing a vehicle (as opposed to them just exploding when you’re on the other side of the map) is fantastic fun. I’ll give this a shot and see if I can do it thinking back on the vid I kind of came close to this at the very start? And at the end when I reversed into the other Bolte but it lifted up ending badly 😂 Let’s see if I can pull it off - thanks for the suggestion!
If u do pull this off, have a gunner friend to help u detonate close miss mines. If mines immediately detonate, the gunner will render m5 bolte immune to explosive splash Edit: if u pull this off the 1st time*
I would have to check but I don’t believe it does - I used the Bolte before I used AT Mines, and when I made the Joker vid I was on flat zero. Try the Mines!! So much fun and a great buzz when you score a hit
I use the rocket mod on the bolt never thought to only use AT mines. You can 1 shot a little bird with the rockets if you catch them off guard so they dont flare in time. im gonna try the AT mines out on control and put them on the vehicle routes
@@timelessgamer_UK just done one game it went ok picked up 3, but not having the repair system is a big hurt. 1 hit and the mobility is super slow lm. Definitely takes alot of practice to master the timing to ok place the mines in the tanks. 1 kills was wildcat chasing me into mines lol
It’s not easy for sure - I got roasted a lot learning to get somewhat threatening with the Bolte. However it’s good fun and unique gameplay so keep at it!

Finally spent a couple hrs yesterday unlocking the missiles and the 50MM cannon, kind of disappointing, the missiles look cool but are pretty awful. I was thinking they were going to me more like the RAM's...needless to say they are not....lol. IF all missiles hit they do 7 - 10 dmg tops against armor and the only way to aim them is by pointing the vehicle at the target, they are supposedly heat seeking but that's a little hit and miss. The cluster mines are OK, they kind of remind me of the CDS in the CAV but it don't see much reason to take them over the AT mines.
I have to say I don’t see a lot of point in the Bolte without the AT mines. The biggest problem though is I don’t think this video is valid anymore, but I need to prove it. The 2 second rule may prevent a lot of what I do. Needs testing, though I won’t make another vid on it. I’m working on my 2042 finale video, I very much enjoy this game but I’m at the end of the road for vids talking about it. Will still play though!

I have to admit when I saw that… come on Dice why didn’t you do that 7 seasons ago?! Taking away an AGM and making it fly like an actual vehicle which obeys the laws of physics? Better late than never! They knew the should’ve done it a looooong time ago… now just nerf the miniguns against armour / add spread and we’re in business 😃
@@timelessgamer_UK I think they finally got the vehicle vs vehicle and vehicle vs infantry balance pretty decent. Give the WC APS and nerf C5 to make there a couple second delay between deploying C5 sticks....rather than just tossing (3) down in 1/10 of a second.... and I'd be happy.
Ah nice I thought I’d failed the exam there for a second. Glad you liked it. Working on one for the CAV actually, they’ve got some secrets. The Bolte is good, it’s underrated but it does feel like it’s in the wrong family. Results in it very often being overlooked when actually it’s a Beast. Give it a try if you haven’t already!
I believe you just go into Options and bind the key accordingly - there’s no trick to it! Just need to find the correct command in the list. Let me know if you’re having trouble with it.
since the 30mm got removed would you recommend the 50mm or the tow missille for the second gunner for this playstyle? tow missile does more damage but 50mm gives you some anti infantry capabilities.
Personally I’d take the 50mm any day over the TOW. It’s a beast against armour and as you say also moderately effective against infantry. It’s also good at pounding aircraft. I find that I simply miss with the TOW too often & also too much downtime waiting for the shots to reload. Can also detonate AT mines I see in front of us. Easy choice for me!
@@timelessgamer_UKah ok thanks for the tip i wish the 30mm stayed on the bolte since it was perfect for this gameplay. but nope they replaced it with the 50mm cannon even though that weapon makes much more sense as a sniper on a recon vehicle like the latv before they removed it and in my opinion doesnt fit the run and gun playstyle of the bolte. i do however like the addition of the incendiary grenade launcher but that doesnt have anti vehicle capabilities unfortunately.
@@Bluberyline827 as I understand it the 30mm was removed after players complained they were infantry spam cannons. I have to be honest, I'm personally happy I got the 50mm now as I lean to vehicle hunting. It's really good at finishing off a crippled but not yet out vehicle if not all three mines go off. Most of the time I'm alone so completely ignore infantry -- just hunting the big game!
I’m not sure the Devs necessarily had this in mind when they designed it 😅 Back when it was a light transport grouped with the LATV and Hovercraft it made a lot of sense. Now it’s grouped with the MAV and Brawler the Bolte makes no sense at all unless you get very creative!
How to play bolt after season 7 patch? cause bolt now does not have 30mm cannon and mine will be bigger so they will be easy to observe. We need a new guide for bolt.
I’d need to see how impactful these changes are. In this vid, I used the 30mm to hunt vehicles so having the 50mm which came in Season 5 only makes what you saw here “easier”. Losing the 30mm only really mattered if going after infantry. In terms of the new AT mine footprint, we’ll see. What I think the real problem is - maybe - is how long do AT mines take to activate once laid down. Is it now 2 seconds? If so, they’ve lost a LOT of their power as cut across attacks won’t work anymore. I do need to test that.
@@timelessgamer_UK I bought this game on christmus sell and having a blast. BF2042 have the core DNA of bf4. However in this video you did not mention antipersonal mine and how to use them. And also rocket barrage.
@@orvilelric6653 This is true -- I wanted to focus on a narrower element of gameplay otherwise the videos become too long. The Anti-Personnel mines don't work for vehicle hunting (the theme of the video) and the rocket barrage is meh at best in my opinion. If you're on the hunt, much better to get the 50 cal. Really glad you're enjoying the game I love it, I think I just replied on another comment you made just now -- happy to get some games in!
They really need to remove the bolt front the armored transport category. Makes zero sense. Have they even explained their thought process on having it there? The Ram should take its place since it has a spawn beacon. the bolt and hovercraft should be in the same class as light armor. Wildcat as AA.
I’m not going to claim I’ve got any insight into Dice, but here’s what I think happened: 1) Bolte came out and went into the Light Vehicle pool. It made the LATV and Hovercraft practically extinct, so then moved it to where it is now. 2) RAM came out, but people were massively complaining Helicopters are OP. Dice wanted to ensure there was always a wildcat on the field but couldn’t add another vehicle (remember they reduced the vehicle count to get better game performance). 3) RAM is now suffering the same problem as the Bolte - being put in a vehicle pool it shouldn’t be in (no logic putting it with Tanks IMO). 4) gave Bolte bulletproof glass to try and make it a bit more like an armoured vehicle. If I were Dev and had to respect the constraints of how many vehicles can be on the field at once, I would scrap the LATV and Hovercraft entirely. Put the Bolte and RAM in there. The game has more vehicles than it can handle at any one time. Regardless if whatever’s going on, the Bolte isn’t bad and I wanted to promote it with this video. I really hope it gets given a new home and all the improvements to the game means one day we can get a new vehicle pool. I’m with you this makes no sense! If there’s really no choice, scrap the LATV and Hovercraft, putting Bolte and RAM together. All I can think of!
@@timelessgamer_UKi understand your reasoning with scrapping that category but i don’t think that argument makes sense on next gen consoles and pc. they really should have their own category already. i do however think it makes sense to do this on last gen consoles. those two vehicles are more fun than the latv and hovercraft anyway.
@@Bluberyline827 I get your point -- I'm not a tech guy but I don't think we can split that way if we're all in the same game, and I'd hate to see further community drop-off especially as it feels to me like it's coming alive again. That said, for the next game I do think it time to fully migrate. I appreciate that's not cheap but I think the Cyberpunk / BF2042 experience showed you can't really straddle both worlds anymore. just my thought.

How many total mines can this lay down.....in other words, can you drive around and deploy mines all over the map...or is there a limited number such as a player can only put down 3 total...?
Each time you activate the Mines, one batch of 4 comes out. They will stay until they’re destroyed or you place another batch. There can only ever be one batch in play at a time - so the previous ones laid down will disappear when you use the ability again. Hope that helps
@@timelessgamer_UK I think I would have made it both deploy mines....and....act as a minesweeper, where you drive over enemy mines and it removes them, gives it a little more versatility. Or at the very least, giveit a gun for the driver, or remove it from the transport category. The LATV has more transport capabilities then this vehicle. I only have about 100 hrs in this game but I don't see a lot of folks using this over the MAV or CAV. Its an interesting vehicle, just needs some tweaks.
Funnily enough, when the Bolte came out it was in the same class as the LATV. Of course it immediately made the LATV extinct so they moved it into the transport category which I agree makes zero sense. Back in the day the game had more vehicles in it, but they reduced the overall count / remixed the composition to what you see today. Basically it became homeless and rather than be in category on its own, they threw it in with transports. If they redesigned it to carry 6 players, that would at least make some sense as a 'rapid transport' but honestly the CAV is fast enough for that.@@Eric-qx1kx
@@timelessgamer_UK I kind of like the LATV but it needs some bulletproof glass to make it more usable. Seems like most just use it to get to an objective faster, then dump it. Its another vehicle they should let the driver operate the gun, as its hard to get anyone to ride along with you, since its not very durable. I have more roadkills with it then weapon kills, as switching seats to operate the gun and back to drive is a little dicey, especially if you need to get out of a situation fast.
My advice would be Thermal Smoke. Why: 1) lets you conceal AT mines you plant behind Tanks / CAV / MAVs and 2) can stop you getting hit by missiles & provide that critical 6 seconds to get away and recover. Also, Repair can be interrupted by a single hit once activated so no guarantee it'll save you and I main Engineer so I've always got a Repair Tool. Hope that makes sense!

Can’t argue that a good gunner takes it to a higher level. In addition to the damage it creates that distraction letting the driver get the AT Mines in. Apache also gets significantly better when there’s a gunner on board.
