Wild that people would consider back capping unsporting. It's been a staple for me in battlefield games for a long time, because it's often simply a sound tactical move, especially when your team stalls. Capping the back areas shifts part of the opposing team's attention away from the 'front line', which is often enough for the mass of randoms that's milling about there to actually succeed at a push. I'd say it's actually the responsibility of any coordinated squads to do this kind of stuff, more so because they're probably also the best prepared to handle the opponent response and actually hold the back cap for a bit while the team gets room to push up
I couldn’t agree more but I’ve taken a lot of heat for doing it, even from friends in my own gaming circle. There really is a strong vein of thought which says you should be fighting your way up to their back line. I never understood why. Like you say it forces them them look away and breaks their momentum. Can just be the tip in your favour you need to let your team break out of a losing position. I’m 100% with you on your assessment.
It's often the only way to break into a map that the opposing team is dominating. About 60-70% of the time I'm on the recieving end of it but I don't mind because otherwise it turns into my team just waiting for them at their "gimme flags" and just killing them as they leave spawn which isn't as much fun as a balanced match
@@timelessgamer_UKthat's interesting, I can sort of see the logic in that but in my experience doing it that way usually still means you stall. Feels more like the 'honourable' thing to do perhaps lol. It also assumes a lot of coordination in the team and a determination to push, whereas back capping also works for a very uncoordinated team because people will 'sense' that there's space and move to occupy it (imo battlefield is like football - it's about controlling space)
that's a good analogy. If I were being a little more cynical than usual, I'd say a lot of players see the back-cap opportunity and jump in for the quick capture scoreboard boost. But, some people I play with it's very clear they're on board with the strat & are digging in to try and hold. Fighting through the line can be fun but like you say it's damn near impossible to coorindate. Just have to throw your hat in the ring and see if the magic happens :D@@reluctantsquadleader6672
Can’t argue with a word of it - brilliant video. On the slamming / ramming… I get your point. You’re doing it because you don’t have guns & you’re not downing yourself. Buuuut… I dunno! What I do know is I’m going to try it 😂😅 You’re absolutely right about the math & the need to capture objectives. Math is math, some things aren’t opinion!
All is fair in war. I had a game on hourglass in the 128 mode last week they had 4 or 5 armor pieces on the hill by A. We couldn’t even get or vehicles out of the base. So I spawned a tor way back by the buildings and took out their tanks and cat from long distance. Then shot down a couple copters , next thing I was being chat attacked, then had two full squads of squirrels gunning for me. They got me eventually, but by that time we capped b and a, and won the match.
Do what you've got to do -- there's no vehicle or setup which can't be defeated if you apply the right tools. I won't deny I've used the power of the TOR on occasion! @@VFRNinja
They’re one of the best for sure - I’ve been enjoying 128 being back. I don’t like the new 30mm they put on it so sticking with the 50mm for now. I’ll even fly Condor I’ve missed them so much 😅
Great vid! Never tried slamming before, definitely going to remember that as a play. Why not as you say, if you’re out of other options & you’re using skill, have at it.
The Butt Slam!!! YEEESS!! Love doing this! Also great tips for delivering teammates to objectives. yes sometimes it hurts to miss out on the objective cap, but delivering small teams on more flags is far superior in the long run. Also, there is nothing wrong with back capping, as said in the video, it a simply strategy and just part of the game!
Butt slam is King 😇 Completely agree about back capping just amazed how often I get shouted at about it. Nothing wrong with it! And yeah the opening is critical it really is, you can win the match in the first few minutes if you sustain the captures. Thanks for the support! It makes it a lot more fun knowing people are enjoying this
I would say the condor is in its own class of weapon and has potential that hasnt been fully realized. There could even be an additional variant of the condor that is faster and leaner with differences to the main one. Or drops some sort of gadget or support equipment or even some mines. Or ropes for infantry to scale down. However the mines might give too much extra power and inadvertently convert the condor or condor variant into a bomber when the main condor already is to an extent. The condor has a design that makes it appear as if it can be parked and used as an artillery piece with its vertical propellers as legs. Since it hovers, it can be flown backwards and that in itself fits the theme of 2042 future tactics and maneuvers. It protects the pilots. It leaves the possibility of the condor or condor variant to have a rear manned turret out of the folding door no different to the osprey plane that had inspiration taken from it. I never thought i would see something in a conventional conflict style game have a vehicle/ asset that would resemble the spirit from Halo. Nonetheless resemble and behave as a vehicle from the bungie halo series. It really shows how much variety and enjoyment can be had from 2042 with similar gameplay and pacing to bungie Halo in some areas.
There’s a lot of brilliant ideas in that and I’m all for the continued evolution of vehicles. It would be great if it or other vehicles could do something as simple as deploying ammo crates Angel style on locations. It’s fun to play by my reality (always keen to stress my experience may not be others) is it’s lack of speed / agility in hover mode gives the pilot very few options if the rockets start flying. The Hind can very quickly hop out the way. So what am I saying - before buffing it’s offensive capabilities, I think there needs to be work on it’s day job to improve survivability. Otherwise it’ll be a second to the Hind every time.
@@timelessgamer_UK i respect your encouragement of further evolution of vehicles and your clarifications. I feel like the lack of speed and agility seems part of its character. It allows for crewmates to spot/ detonate hostile landmines, spot bushcamping hostiles for support of ground troops, take more precise aim of hostiles dug into good cover against teammates. Provide high volume of non-explosive fire with precision into smoke nade cover in case hostiles may be inside it. Underbarrel and shoulder mounted gadgets can make more accurate hits on vehicles with that speed compared to the Mi240. The turrets work as an air AA system when used on hostile aircraft and the different experiences in speed between the transport gunships of each team is noticable and brings variety to the game. There honestly should be a different variant of the condor. Or multiple iterations for different purposes or multiple purposes in one. Because I will agree in that I have noticed condors get swatted frequently though there are pilots who use it's strengths to its largely effective results. I see similarities of this comparison between the little bird's speed in 2042 being alot faster than in BF4. The 2042 little bird does not allow passengers to make accurate hits with MG's or any primary with the typical high speed at which pilots traverse. Or even drop resupply crates for teammates precisely on the ground by their side. I don't believe that gadget ability is available in 2042 while being a passenger.
If there was a lighter armoured, faster variant of the Condor I would pick that one any day over what is on offer now. I love the vision you're selling of its gameplay and perhaps it's my failings, but as it stands speed is King for my style of gameplay and flying into a 'hot' area on the map is too risky. And if I get caught out i.e. it was safe then suddenly it wasn't, I can rarely escape. Give me speed or give me death!@@lexusgalavan1410
@@timelessgamer_UK yes flying into hot areas is alot more risk with the condor. I like how the current speed allows friendly Mackay player or two to grapple on top of its roof and effectively become paratroopers jumping from a great height. It further makes the condor out to be a flying armed armored troop carrier of its own class rather than specifically a typical aircraft. Not to mention it's acceleration mode simultaneously turns it into a strafe runner/ bomber, and a rapid paratrooper deployer. Dice would probably choose to adjust it's speed. They should allow the speed to be toggled on from the sprint button or key. It's a feature for ground vehicles already. Or for it's armor to take more hits. Or auto repair itself faster or requiring higher damage taken to halt the self repair. Or simply an in-game tutorial to show how to use the condor for the survivability and support of your teammates and bringing extra teammate spawns/ reinforcements. And for turrets to prioritize eliminating engineers or vehicles directing fire at the condor. Or to switch to acceleration mode and relocate when things get hairy.
People forget to go into the back line and take an objective behind the mid objectives. If you can’t push through and take the mid, you can at least cause the enemy team to turn some attention behind them and allow your team to push through. Even if you don’t take the objective it still draws attention.
@@timelessgamer_UK Ehh they would just rather be in a stalemate at mid and try to farm kills. Not too many players actually care to use a strategy to win the match. I hate when players run a vehicle right into mid and get blown up instantly. I prefer to flank and pressure rear objectives.
I certainly will and thanks for the support! I do the best I can around work and family. I’ll always get them out as fast as I can 😅 I think you’ll like the one after this ;)
@@timelessgamer_UK I will always be with you and wish you every success in your work. I appreciate the effort you make and I really admire what you do. Keep going and don't stop. ❤️👑
I cant wrap my head around someone thinking back capping is unsportsmanlike. What? Its strategic and smart. Most players today are to clueless to even noticed when they are getting backcapped
I’ve been howled at for doing it, I admit much less so today than when I made this video. Forgive me but I thought that’s the whole point of air transports isn’t it?! 😂 Guess some people think every game mode should be Breakthrough!
Love it - especially the opening advice & ramming! Also liked the spawn camper harassment. Actually earlier just to say I liked the vid - thanks as always! Going to try and up my game a bit. What’s your thoughts on the Condor?
The condor is poor in my opinion due to the lack of manoeuvres vs the Hind. Switching flight mode takes too long and it’s slow / clunky. Definitely Hind or nothing!
@@timelessgamer_UK I've done really well in the condor too, I just find you need to think further ahead than you do with the hind since if you wait to react as you say, it's too clunky. Most of the time when I use vehicles I prefer aggressive vehicles but sometimes the busses do come in clutch if nobody else is using them properly
I recognise your name we just played together about an hour ago! You were the Lis player going after my Apache and then you were going after me in a tank on Hourglass - good to meet you 😅 You’re in Asia? Where abouts? I’m in SG.
@@timelessgamer_UK I'm in India and I do know we shared a lot of lobbies, but was that you in the tank haha? I'm honestly overdoing Liz for the past couple of weeks (mainly going after the 100-0 clan nightbird sweats)
I know exactly who you mean in our lobbies and I'm going for them too ^^ Did you happen to notice the names of the people in the Condor I butt slammed in the intro of the video -- hehehe!! MyTH also makes quite a few appearances in my Lis vids. I'll get them when I can! Yeah that was me in the Tank, good times. I'll definitely shout if I see you and add me, we should get some games in.@@Mister.Chedda
@@timelessgamer_UK hell yeah!! Something clicked for me about 2 weeks ago with Liz and I started hitting that one pilot somewhat consistently - now I get him at least once in every game so I also got a load of clips saved up too haha. And def would love to get games in some time!
Well thanks, it’s awesome to hear that - listen if you’ve not found them yet I highly recommend Marzipandan and KrazyKnul. They’re excellent players & so really helpful content. Check them out!
You can really make a difference, it's true. I've never topped the leaderboard, but I've been consistently in the top five to ten. You get so many points from all the spawns. And if you're team realizes you're good at piloting they are more likely to spawn on you. Add to that the kill assists and points from caps and you can quickly get near the top. Any butt bomb kills are just gravy at that point.
Couldn’t agree more - I still thinks good Hind / Condor pilot does more than the scoreboard reflects. A lot of work goes into clutch captures / shutdowns. Butt slams are just glorious flexes on your opponent :)
@@timelessgamer_UK Good times. It's a shame they banned them from just about every map. That's pretty typical of DICE though. Ban an asset rather than trying to balance or buff the counters.
Cheers chap really appreciated - glad you enjoyed the vid. Yeah BF is a lot of fun, hoping season 6 injects some much needed content. That said it’s always fun with friends
I think it's mostly justified to "hate the player", bc developers cannot deny every annoying thing players can do. But regarding back capping that is simply playing the game and it makes matches more interesting when you have to react and send like a small special forces team to clear the infiltrators ^.^ And even though I mastered the transports first, you really opened my eyes with the mid-flag capping strategy, thanks :)
@@timelessgamer_UK It's amazing :D (when it works and doesn't kill your teammates ^.^') But since they lowered their health and jet ramming has become a real problem, unconsciously I did it less and less :(
I suicide ram is definitely a puss move but if you know you can do it without dieing then all good. I even took out a super hokum with a pondhawk yesterday. Lol
I think so long as you go into the ram because 1) there wasn’t another play; and 2) you realistically expect to survive, then you’re good. That’s why ramming with a Jet is always a no - you always have another way, it’s called hitting what you’re aiming at!
Yeah I got a little bit unlucky with that, the update came out with season 6 right after I made this vid. Thankfully the 40mm section is the only element out of date. I’ve switched to the 50mm now, not a fan of the new 30mm.
Do you think they are ever going to properly make the Condor as competitive as the Hind? The balance difference between the two is crazy. An uncontested Hind is a game winning tool.
If you fight a hind in condor, go to flight mode and gun it straight up to flight limit. Hind cannot follow, and you will have high ground. Works most of the time
You know I’m not a high end pro gamer so my ask is a simple one for the condor - just make it more agile / responsive in hover mode so we can actually dodge some incoming rockets & adjust to target people we see. If a TOR shot hits you can’t get away from the inevitable second coming your way. A Lis missile audio warning is just an FYI you’re about to be hit. It needs serious improvement here to even consider being on par with the Hind. Completely agree and many games to prove it - don’t kill the Hind if it’s being used right, you’ve lost.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! 50 all the way, forget the 30 even exists. If you see armour, attack. Otherwise look for Engineers & Medics on the field. Ignore everyone else & save your shots. Hope that helps!
I don’t like jet ramming because they’ve always got a gun, there’s always a skill option to get the kill. It pains me even more when I get killed & the jet flies away. It’s up there with being TOR’ed from across the map
Great video as always! One thing I wanted to address that you skipped. When fighting other helis and they have a lock on you, if you have enough height (I'm talking a kilometre or more) you can barrel roll the Super Hind and usually dodge the missile. I'm not fucking joking. The last thing the enemy expects of a Super Hind is for you to invert that giant motherfucker and dodge their missile. It IS possible people. Flip that bitch like it's a Nightbird. Just, as I said, make sure you have the height; that thing drops like a lead zeppelin - the metaphorical vehicle, not the band.
I have to try that - if you can get a vid yourself, post it! Real life fun fact - the lead singer of Lead Zeppelin is a fully licensed pilot for commercial flights. He flew me several times to and from oil fields. Very professional, didn’t do any barrel rolls or sudden drops!
Honest truth, I struggle with it too. In terms of strategy (grabbing objectives at the start, back capping etc) it’s exactly the same. In hover mode though it’s an absolute donkey - anything with a rocket can hit you. Attack Helicopters obliterate you before you can even move (even when you see them coming). I wish I had something for you, but… I don’t think I’m in a much better place than you.
You on PC or console? What region? Happy to talk you through it some time if you’d like a quick 101. Once you’ve got the basics you’ll learn very fast!
Yeah I'm expecting some blowback on this -- but it's an honest held view so let's see what people say. If I don't have a gunner and I'm not destroying / suiciding myself & the vehicle, I'm going for it. Definitely not going to sit there and watch an Apache shred my team when I can hook its tail & pull it down. It only crosses a line for me when you're throwing away a perfectly good vehicle that had other options to get the kill. But -- I know people are going to be split over this one. I'm expecting a roasting!
