The new Battlefield game is going to be called Battlefield 2042, so a slightly futuristic setting, people are probably searching 2042 and clicking on the wrong link of 2142.
Literally all DICE had to do with 2042 is to expand upon this and tell the story that led up to Battlefield 2142.. Instead they chose to completely disregard 2142 and tell an entirely different story that no one even understands.. I miss the old Battlefield and DICE..
@@tomzicare Yeah, Bad Company 2, BF3, BF4, BF1 were pretty good, but the escence of the original Battlefield games is not there. You could tell they wanted to make the sequels feel more like COD after 2142
Best 1st person shooter I've ever played, as well as 2nd best game I've ever played. I still have the disc set laying around somewhere. I miss the time when games were physical packages that you bought and brought home with you. There was a certain anticipation with actually holding the product in your hands instead of just downloading it.
I have a shelf with all my battlefield box sets as well..those were the best of the best gaming days..100% team cooperation, commander in the hot seat supporting all the squad leaders. Long games taking what seemed like hours. Bring all of that back
Let's start a petition for a new 2022 edition of this! I miss titan maps. With todays graphics and tech, they could double maps sizes and make it even better.
I hope they add 2142 content to Portal. Battlefield 2042 is a mess but Portal is it’s saving grace and adding 2142 content and titan mode would make me so happy man

Man i remember being a kid waiting all night to install because it was my bday in the morning and then my friend who spent the night showed me and my 4 other friends 2 girls 1 cup. 🤣 then we played battlefield 2142 for the first time, ahhh memories i was 13-14
@@SovietBear4 Yeah, You're right. it was horrid when I saw the graphics and the detail that was missed. I play halo infinite now and while it's not perfect, At least its not as bad in my opinion. I do hope that BF2042 will be better in the near future.
I played probably 5,000 hours of this game as a kid. 24/7 Camp Gibraltar maps, knife only servers and of course Titan maps on rotation. I met some of the greatest friends on this game that I lost contact with but time to time hope they’re doing well. I wish this game had more than just 2 servers left. BF3 and BF4 communities were able to bring the game back to life. I wish this game could do the same and not just certain times on weekends.
The shortest experience ever...a short lived masterpiece. They need to revisit this whole idea in some form of rebirth or offshoot from the battlefield scene..
My father in law passed away this summer unexpectedly, we used to play together this game with him and my brother… so many memories and laughs… we’ve had so much fun during winter time playing it many years ago
Today's kids will never. Ever!! Feel the satisfaction of making your enemy's titan core go critical, pop smoke to the left and right in the cargo hold, haul ass to the back edge of the landing pad, you and your whole squad diving back to the ground.......and as your falling...........you look up back at the titan and watch a victorious game end as the Titan blows up. Nothing will ever top that. I promise you.

It is such a blessing to see so many people in the comments section reminiscing on 2142's legacy. We really had it good back then, and makes me wonder far too often, "What the hell happened?" That's speaking rhetorically of course, because we all have ideas in how to answer that question... Given EA's abandonment of what Battlefield used to be, at this point, we're better off seeing an indie-dev make something even marginally close to 2142's ambition and make a game that plays almost exactly like what we all remembered. I really, really wish and hope some developer reads this comment and validates in their mind: YES, we want this again!!

This game caught me when I was 15 years old, I don't know how many hours I put into it, but I remember having this installed along with the first Guild Wars for the entire life of my computer.
My favourite game of all times i used to play after breakfast till lunch time then again after lunch till dinner after dinner till 2am. My favourite was engineer and being the commander, hostile infantry, squad ur a tuff nut screw 😂
back in the day's the trailers and commentary explanation of titan mode blow my mind as a kid ... and graphics was superior with reflects light for exemple xD

Perfect balance between realism and arcade, great maps, great gunplay and game mechanics, simple comprehensible voicelines without overly dramatic screaming, interesting lore despite being multiplayer only, epic soundtrack. BF2142 in my opinion is pinnacle what BF should be.

i was too poor to have a system that I could run this on high settings back then, I recently built an xp retro gaming machine. now every game is fully maxed out in high settings and I feel like a boss! 😂
Everyone hates futuristic theme FPS, EA took those ideas to the trash and made them More realistic in 2042 with no too much technology as today and slight changes in the world, if we got 2142 2, then Will look like Black Ops 4
@@codamnote3051 Futuristic-Themed FPS isn't a bad idea, everyone may be got tired of it because too many futuristic CoD titles released since Black Ops II (also, there's a lot of good futuristic-themed FPS like Crysis)
I didn't really enjoy Battlefield 2, but I felt BF2142 fixed a number of its issues, plus had a much more interesting setting, to me at least. Had a great time with this game back in the day. Some of the more infantry focused maps were incredibly interesting as well.
So glad to see these comments. This game is SO underrated. Some of the best times I ever had gaming were on this. The large maps and big teams made it so much fun!
Worked hard to reach hiscore rank 2 with the clark 15B, my biggest and most treasured achievement in gaming. Lasted 14 days. Most underated and underused weapon. Shot hella long for being a gas operated flechette shotgun.
i remember my buddy got onto my server for the opposite team and knife killed me for my dog tag. 1 week later i sneaked into a knife only server and got his tags. The game crashed 1/2 way through and it never registered the kill. Took me another 8 months to finally get him back. This was the best BF by far

I was raised a Nintendo kid, though I remember watching my dad play the heck outta this game. Sometimes I’d be the 8-year-old backseat gamer and we’d work together as a team. Got a few wins here & there. …Unfortunately his life went to shit, got hyper abusive, drugs, cheating, all that shit. I still keep a copy of the game around just to remember the good times we had together before he fell off. Maybe I should give the reclaimed servers a try.

god i wish i could expirience this game. I was born in 2008 so i didnt know about it til i was like 9. i got a chance to play battlefield 2 tho. It was great but i could only play bots since servers were down.
I feel were going to see Titan mode reapear in a BF 2042 DLC, with a real titan ship this time (not carriers as in BF 4). BF 4 took place in 2020, the last DLC had the drivable antigrav tank and a titan under construction; with BF 2042 taking place 22 years later... I hope i'm right 😁
