Battlefield 3 was way ahead of its time 

Since BF3, I personally haven’t enjoyed any game nearly as much as I did this one. Especially on a long term scale.

This has to be one of the greatest games ever made. One of the only games to live up, and exceed the massive amount of pre release hype it had. A perfect example of a timeless classic

I could go back and play this and instantly remember every environment, corridor, avenue of approach. This game was a masterpiece

The BF3 soundtrack has probably the best atmosphere and feeling to it out of all Battlefield titles.

I’ll draw a parallel picture here. Technologically, iPhone was 5 years ahead of its time back in 08’. In terms of video games, Battlefield 3 was and is, a decade ahead. We were absolutely spoiled with choices at the time with Halo 3, MW2, GTA V, and Bf3 in the early 2010s.

Battlefield 3 in my opinion had the most balanced, well paced, and smooth multiplayer experience ever. All you had to apply was your skill in this game and it truly felt competitive, man I truly miss this game. BEST battlefield game ever.

If Dice wants to redeem themselves, they should start by remastering this game

Battlefield 3 was my teenage years game and I've had a lot of great memories playing it by myself or with friends, I never got bored of it. With the new Battlefields, I have liked them but it just doesn't feel the same. So hopefully we get a game like Battlefield 3 again

I played yesterday bf3 since 2 years and just wanted to have a look - 5 hours later I was still playing 😂.. this game feels like it came out last year^..

I remember in bf3 when someone bailed from their jet and you ran over them, your jet would lose 5-10% health. It always killed me.

I think BF3 was the last time I really, thoroughly enjoyed Battlefield.

I miss those "only in Battlefield"-Moments...

Used to jam this for hours after school and all night on weekends with the squad. Was always in an XBL party with like 8 people 2 squads going all the time. Best memories of gaming for myself.

DICE needs to stop adding gimmicks, and focus on “only in battlefield” potential. Levelution was neat and changed the dynamic of some levels, but ultimately that, the trains, and airships/zeppelins were just that, gimmicks. Currently CoDs game mode Ground War is the closest to BF3 (though still a long way off, maps are a fraction the size of battlefield). Id love to see a BF3 remaster, or at least another modern version with the same attention to the havoc that is all out war that BF3 had.

And still is to this day, I love all the maps I haven’t played a FPS where I found myself loving every single map of it, and rush was the best mode in BF3

Battlefield 3 is still my favourite battlefield. Sometimes I think its Nostalgia talking but nah fuck that, the game was absolutely fantastic and all those multiplayer hours were worth it.

wow 2011, even today the fact that this game released almost 9 years ago and still runs/looks the way it does is truly amazing.

I completely agree that this game was ahead of its time. The graphics,sound design,level design, gunplay and vehicle gameplay still hold up to this day. The only two things that are noticeably older are the animations and the server tick rate. If those two things were updated it could be re-released and it would be one of the best shooters on the market.

I’ve never had more fun playing battlefield. Such a good game.

The color pallet used, the sound design, the overall immersive sandbox feel, jet fights. I'm gonna have to go back and play this again!! Back in 2012, I put 1200 hours in this game all whilst playing at 45-55 fps. BF3 at 144Hz here I come! I'm so spoiled now.

This was my favorite BF of all time. When BF4 came out, I was so sad it wasn't as good as BF3. Nothing since has been as good tbh.

Haven’t even thought about buying another battlefield since 3 and 4. If they made it back to modern I’d hop back on board. Miss the freedom of having 60 different weapons and having a wide verity of maps.

I never uninstalled it. Even though I almost never play it now, I just know that I can at any moment. And that it will be just as fun as it was 9 years ago. And it will still be beautiful, epic and intense.

The scale, scope, and overall atmosphere of this game was what made it so good. You can tell they put the effort into every part of it and really cared about it

I just played today BF3 (05 April 2020) and it’s still the best .. I am not even thinking on buying BF4, 1 or 5 because I don’t need to change a masterpiece to another game that isn’t

I was 16 when this game was released. This game had changed my whole high school life! Without BF3, I might have got addicted to League of Legends like lots of my classmates. After so many years, this game is still a masterpiece and a milestone.

The thing i find most impressing in bf3, is that I know when to stop shooting at an enemy when they've died because the guns feel so reliable and consistent. The only other game I can think of where this also happens is csgo. And also that the attachments were not so complicated, with drawbacks and whatnot, making you take less time to screw around and more time playing.

No other game transmited the feeling of ALL OUT WAR as this one did to me.

This is exactly what i was thinking. I started playing battlefield from 3 and loved it and the squads and sandbox feel warzone gives you reminds me of when I use to play bf3. I never really got into bf1 or 5, i feel like this video encapsulated my exact feelings.

I put many, many hours, into this fully sick game. Battlefield Friends had me in tears every episode.

Battlefield 3 and 4 are the pinnacle of FPS shooters. NOTHING will ever compare. Caspian and Firestorm 24/7 max tickets.

Thank God someone finally said it !! BF3 was a masterpiece and still is my favorite Battlefield to date . I didn't try the new CoD Warzone because I personally hate battle royale games, simply they're not my genre. But I can't hide the disappointment that Modern Warfare 2019 is for me : terrible map design combined with super low TTK and even lower server tickrate (in the order of 12Hz) makes for a very frustrating experience. I have fun playing BF3 , BF4 and Modern Warfare 3 . Everything was balanced with time and simply they keep rocking as games even today because of that. Game industry has moved in a direction I don't like at all . It's all grinding today . I want fun BACK ! AND YOU HAVE TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "YO MAN IT WAS NICE AND PLAYABLE...” and "THIS IS SO MUCH FUN ,I CAN'T STOP PLAYING" . Stay home ,stay safe ,cheers.

BF3 was not "Ahead of it's time" it was right in line with where games were and were supposed to keep going. We've had industry stagnation for almost a decade. The visuals are shinier but that is it.

The BEST Battlefield, ever. Legendary.

Me and my brother would play the theme song to this and when the main part would kick in, our jets would go opposite ways while popping flares. It’s moments like that, that make the game great.

BF3 was my first ever game, I grew up with this masterpiece, and it was the one that made me a gamer. I'm a bit sad looking at these new Battlefields. I hope the next ones will be as good as BF3 and 4.

We will never see Battlefield return to glory as long as current management and level designers are in place. Incompetence reigns supreme at that studio.

Wow! I had this conversation with my brother just about a week ago about how ahead of it's time BF3 was. And I even predicted that a new fps genre would emerge using the same mechanics of BF3. I loved BF3 so much. It's easily my favorite FPS of all time. Great video brother, keep em coming.

battlefield V was a tragedy, doesn’t even feel like a battlefield game

I truly do miss BF3, I have some of the best memories from this game and I wish that this game could be repopulated on console with the opportunity to relive the experience I had. If they were able to produce another game on the same wavelength as BF3 would be absolutely perfect.

Battlefield 3 will always have a very special place in my heart. I lived in a 3rd world country and playing online was impossible for us! One day i was at work and my little brother wanted to see if it works and it did, he sent me images and messages and i still had my doubts it would be this good until i got home and tried it myself and boy, that's where it all started! So many hours, infantry jets choppers tanks you name it i got good at driving everything! Plus the dlc's! Dlc's actually meant something in BF3! Still to this day the music i hear in loading screens bring back some awesome memories ❤

Battlefields biggest mistake was going with back to back WW1-2 titles. That time period is great every now and then, but not for 2 games back to back. It's the number 1 reason why I didn't bother with BF5.

You come home from highschool and sit down with a drink and a snack. You pick up the controler to play some rush on metro with your mates. Life is good
