Funny how people look back through rose-tinted glasses. BF4 had connectivity issues, instability, server crashes tied to levolution and god knows what else, poor netcode that was somehow worse at 60hz than BF3 at 30hz, wonky physics, weird gunplay with visual recoil not representing factual recoil, and map design that put scale and spectacle above gameplay. Most of this has been gradually fixed after CTE, but that took over a year since launch to arrive, and another year for all improvements to land. BF4 has become a great game about by the time Hardline released. 2042 is also a much better, more polished and fun experience than it was on launch - except the stupid 'specialist' system

@@C0T0HA 10 year old game vs a 3 year old game lol. and crazy how most people still prefer the 10 year old game. I sure hope the graphics improved and was more polished lol but gameplay is ass and dont feel like a battlefield game. 2042 is their worse game ever made. stats and player count shows that.

I've been playing BF since 1942 and people have been screaming that at almost every new BF title. - oh but modern warfare in 2 isn't classic Battlefield - oh but future warfare in 2142 isn't realistic - oh but Bad Company is small scale so it's not Battlefield - oh but BF3 you can lonewolf so it's not Battlefield the list goes on. Trust me I hated 2042, it was a complete mess during beta and at launch. I ended up buying it over 1.5 years after launch after playing a free weekend with friends. It's Battlefield alright. The specialists are stupid but if the game used normal skins there wouldn't be much to complain about. Portal doesn't have specialists and it's a LOT of fun, I wish they added more classic maps. BF4 I personally don't enjoy much - unfortunately. The gunplay is weak, most maps are big but not well designed, and the atmosphere isn't quite there. BC2, BF3 and BF1 nailed that atmosphere, the rest of the Frostbite era ones are eh. But hey to each their own, it's an awesome series despite all of its issues and each game has an active fanbase. I was just pointing out that BF4 wasn't the polished experience that it is now for quite a while after launch.
