The Tirailleurs story was actually pretty good. The rest were a bunch of CoD supersoldier commando one man army BS. Great job with the edit as usual. You guys rock.
What? A small group takes over an entire fortification with nothing but guns against tanks, which the best and brightest French could not do? How is that the only one that is not BS? To me, tirailleurs were pretty basic. One guy pushing for glory while another just wants to survive for his family. Cept in this one the one wanting to just survive dies. Oh right, it also claims that the USA wiped black people from the capture with no evidence but some words from someone else.
@@verybasicname8672 it wasn't a entire company? And well, they had French backup and they divided themselves to take the AA, which probably means that the reserves died in the German counterattack, and probably the French send them there in the first place to make a diversion to take the light defended chateau, in the end seems like only three guys survived, well that's not even a small group and that was kind of extremely high casualty for a low objective.
@@Rrgr5The the amount of them I would say it is very unlikely that it happened the way the guy claims it happened, but that was not my point. My point was that to call everything bullshit then leave out one which is basically the same thing is very suspicious because it seems he was believing that cus black guy. Either way Idc I enjoyed all of the stories cept of the female one which was kinda anti-climatic.
Let s not forget that she had been whacked in the head with a rifle and shrugged off the hit with ease and that she fell from a bridge without any serious injury and that she submeged in norwegian night water without any significant hypothermia as a result. this game is so terribly awful and disgusting I cannot fathom sufficient words to express my hate.
_Fun fact: heavy water sabotage was done by 8 men lets forget that and stick strong wamen characters into that story_ That must be that cultural appropiation thing they are talking about!
The whole norwegian campaign was fictional anyways... If they were going with the story of the heavy water sabotage, they could have stayed true to the history. Lots of amazing WW2 stories from brave norwegians. A more historical accurate and also enjoyable to watch... Max Manus (2008), The Heavy Water War (TV Mini-Series (2015- )), The 12th Man (2018)...
@@MrGamerdude1 The funny part is Heavy water project, it takes all Germany resource and times just to build one bomb. The heavy water sabotage did nothing at all since most scientist left the county especially a special person(E=MC2) to help the project and it is the Nazis who stop the project. You know, burning books and other stuff. They really hate science.
Why there is no Soviet storyline??? USSR lost 27 million people. Nearly 21 million civilians on occupied territories of the USSR and 6 million soldiers. Scale of battles on the East Front was MUCH bigger than on the West, the number of the troops was in the hundreds of thousands. It's a fact that Germany lost more than 70% armed forces on the East. In general, in recent years, I have seen obvious attempts to strike Russians out of the history of the World War 2. In movies, games, books, as if there were no such victims, such a powerful contribution to the victory over Nazism. P.S. the storytelling in this game worse than in Battlefield 1. That stories don't cause emotions they're empty and contorted. Rough work with historical material, obvious inaccuracies.
Battlefield 1942 made a Germany storyline already, and even though it was literally just a series of multiplayer levels in historical order but with bots, I'd rather have that than the german campaign we're getting right now.
historical inaccuracies withing the first 5 minutes, i thought it would take longer than that. Tiger tanks didn't enter full production until 1942, 2 years after the first mission was set and were first seen in the deserts of north africa, as early as mid/late 1941 as prototypes
I remember ww1 where men fell from the sky, tanks rode up walls, men running at the speed of a train and fazing through walls and horses running at there two front hoofs. War truley never changed.
Don't forget that RAF bombers almost exclusively flew at night. The Hamburg bombing? Night time raid. Which means that you also wouldn't see Me 109s in the air at the time either.
Name me ONE BF or CoD game that was historically accurate. Breaking reality to tell grand adventure stories and utterly bonkers multiplayer is the point of these after all. Red Orchestra and so on try that whole pseudo-realism thing.
Dice has always been lazy and very barebones in it's story writing aside from bad company games. It is what it is. I think since bad company only ones that were decent was hardlines and battlefield 1.(granted they have they cons)
What? That tarnation of inaccurencies? Both these games are there own fucking takes on the war that much even dice said. That being said For campaigns BFV seems a helluva lot better then BF1's which litterally is rince repeat at times and shows some pretty crazy things.
The game sucks! It starts with you landing on a beach with like 10 guys and the guy that got you out of prison and you pick up your Sterling SMG after throwing up then all the sudden you have a retarded modified Thompson with a reflex scope and drum magazine. And all the guys you came with are never introduced and they all disappear, now you're alone with the old man for the entire mission until the end where you take out an entire garrison of infantry and armor by yourself. I hated it. I expected the old man to die while singing some song on a tower, at least then I would've been slightly emotionally invested if he died but he didn't. It was a totally hollow experience for me I don't even want to play the rest!
If they indeed do a Barbarossa campaign, I want it from a German, Finnish, or Romanian perspective. I've had enough of Soviets screaming URA and charging at Panzer IVs.
Look, I love battlefield 100 percent. But I've driven into single player more recently. I feel that the campaign of cod ww2 is a good story that puts you in the shoes of a soldier who you *play as throughout the whole game*. I love the history of ww2. This game may not be 100% accurate, but I love to play this story again and again.
That was it? Just four stories? You could've at least done the Australians in the Pacific if you didn't want to do the, "American Glorification" as I call it. Have a German point of view of them defending their home, Berlin. I won't say I'm completely disappointed since I did learn that there were Africans among French ranks, I am still somewhat disappointed at the missed opportunities and not much innovated from Battlefield1.
Fight for Berlin shut up look what the nazi germans do to all country with blitz war. rape shooting civil people but you have right Australia most come soon
@@kristianfinstad4005 Not every soldier is the same. One maybe followes his family military tradition. Or filled with patriotism and wanted to serve his country. Not every German soldier raped and murdered. But if we want to make it simple, have the defense of Berlin be in the point of view of a 17 year old boy who is trying to defend his country from the Soviets. Hell the Soviets are the same guilt as the Nazis; doing mostly the same as the Germans did to them.
I refuse to buy Battlefield 5. This is the first Battlefield I havent bought since jesus I dont know when I loved the franchise. I still do and its not the game play itself thats preventing me from buying it. I wont buy it because I can no longer support EA and the creators of Battlefield 5. As a gamer you always want to believe that the people making the game are like you. That they qant to make an amazing experience and love their community as much as it loves them. But this year when they called us stupid saying that we didn't know basic history, or openly lied about historical inaccuracies in a game they claimed would be historically accurate, implied that we didn't want the game solely because of female characters is down right insulting. Thanks for the footage GLP you guys did a great job, and this will be the only way for me to experience BF5 because I will not be purchasing this game.
@@fn5827 I dont generally buy games from people who call me an idiot or imply that I don't want women in my video games, and that I don't know history. If you're ok being insulted and then giving your money over to the person who insulted you then.... Fuck you, you politically correct momma's boy. Give me my money.
This is the acorporation aspect that gaming hase become, the reason i love indie games are becaus the people making them want to be like the big boy developers
What isn't historically accurate? Women on the field in WWII? Maybe you need to brush up on your WWII history after all. Many resistance cells deployed women on the field. One of Europe's most successful ones did, Tito's Yugoslav Partisans, for example.
It's great that DICE (a Swedish company) are so arrogant, self righteous and revisionist when Sweden itself was a supporter of the Nazis and had its own eugenics program. The irony is not lost on those of us that are actual students of history.
Battlefield V has: Made up stories Bad storytelliing Historical inaccuracies No pacific theatre No stories about the USSR Makes up stories of women instead of using stories about real ones. Battle royale that no one wants Good graphics Battlefield 1 has: Real stories Good storytelling Historically accurate Good multiplayer Actual women that were real
That's been done before many times haha why do people keep saying this, we've all seen russias wars many many times in all WW2 games same with america and the Pacific, medal of Honor, battlefield, call of duty, they've all done those fronts, if they done these right heavy water could've been amazing, that actual raid was insane.
All in all, its a decent campaign, id rank it as this Best- Trialleur- i have never seen this before in a game. Good- prologue- shows the western front and north Africa in a great way Ok- Nordys- most beautiful one but is very historically inaccurate Worst- under no flag- cutscenes were great but gameplay is lacking
People this is a game not reality, stop your complaining and just enjoy.I love these game movies some of them are better than real movies with humans. These guys are lifelike and just freaken amazing.
I wish they included more stories. The Pacific had just as many epic battles as the European theatre. I don't get why people always not focus on the pacific theatre. For exhample, some stories they could have done could be about the flying tigers, the 800 heroes, the Gurkha assault, Battle of the coral sea, Last stand at leyte, pearl harbor, and maybe even add the 442 in the european one. Try google some of these stories, they're amazing
I knew he sounded familiar, too bad that mission was terrible. Here are my thoughts on it: The game sucks! It starts with you landing on a beach with like 10 guys and the guy that got you out of prison and you pick up your Sterling SMG after throwing up then all the sudden you have a retarded modified Thompson with a reflex scope and drum magazine. And all the guys you came with are never introduced and they all disappear, now you're alone with the old man for the entire mission until the end where you take out an entire garrison of infantry and armor by yourself. the last campaing about black guys fighting in france rly felt like a movie and a sad movie for me and it felt like i was watching it for 2 hours. thx for making this.
Missions I really want to see in a World War 2 game. 1. German campaign 2. First Navy Seal insertion in WW2. (I cant remember if they were formed after the mission or slapped together beforehand) 3. Cant remembef if this was in Cod: waw but, The Battle of Kursk. 4. The Ameican seige of the fortress city of Metz
i think coral sea from a japanese perspective would be nice then have the aussies at guadalcanal. then maybe italian soldiers in north africa. no doubt they need a soviet mission because the USSR lost 15% of its population to win the war and it would be a disgrace to not have them.
He is (supposedly) and explosives expert, and spec ops units were allowed a great deal of flexibility with their equipment. Heck, a lot of regular soldiers had non-standard equipment squirreled away somewhere. Also, the whole thing about the SBS recruiting criminals is a lie. It was composed entirely of volunteers from the British Marines.
I really really hope to see "The Last Tiger". Man, i'm so happy they listened to us, first time that they put a German storyline, and i hope they make it good and not tryin to put them as "the bad guys" as always. (Talkin about soldiers, not elite SS). And I hope they add more of this stories for USSR, Japan, Canada, USA, Italy. I believe they can make a really amazing game.
Am I the only one that was excited to hear the guy who was Gaz, Ghost, and Walcroft (Craig Fairbrass) doing the voice for Mason? That's pretty much the only part that I liked. Outstanding video as always, just an atrocious story
All we need and want is a gsme just like 1 and 5 with a similar intro and inspirational dialogue but with modern setting gritty showing the true horrors of war
Rise Revelation how about a Russian unit hunting down the Dirlewagner brigade, finding a trail of carnage left by a SS unit so heinous it even scared the SS shitless.
The French loved the black soldiers, in World War One one French soldier or commander said give us more of the black soldiers because they fought harder than the white soldiers.
That was my thoughts to, I remember hearing about when america showed up in WW1 they tried to encourage the French to actually not treat the American black troops with the same respect for white ones as it could cause trouble when they returned home, claiming they also were the sole reason for an increase in rapes that outdid the entire entente forces.. only for the French to not really care and treat them just fine haha asking for more like you said.
the yanks loved those black soldiers as well. The'd been the first onces tossed out of the planes ending as cannonfodder to german Flak and ground forces.
Frankenstein 181 times change. Plus, they were still disrespect for not being French. Fortunately, it was a not race thing but a national thing. They didn't want other national serving France, even though technically the French colonies were French soil.
And we still get np respect in the world to this day yet we fight work and do ehat people normally do in life in and out of crisis yet we still are mocked and treated as subhuman on every front.
I love how everyone in the comment section are so adamantly decrying this game, claiming it is completely disrespectful to soldiers and the people who died. Despite this, you don't see actual soldiers, war veterans, historians, or others actually demand that this be stopped. You know why? Because it's a fucking game, and it's not going change the history books any time soon. Gosh, you guys are like those SJWs who complain about cultural appropriation in America.
What's the fun in that. As a RU-vid once said "it's fine to have fun with history". Honestly I blame ea. I love the way Dice has handled it, but ea has been silent since Patrick was fired.
"I'm Billy fucking Bridger!" "Våkn opp, Solveig." "Je suis Deme. Je suis un Tirailleur." "Mein name ist Peter Müller, Kommandant des Tiger-Panzer 237, und ich war dort."
did anyone realise that Mason's voice actor from ''under no flag'' is actually the voice of Gaz from Cod4? I got so happy when i heard him talk the first time. :D
Dang i hate this game but the single most abhorrent aspect of this game is the norwegian mission, disrespectful to those who really fought and prevailed in the heavy water operation , physically impossible, the ONE TEENAGER GIRL army thing really got me mad , and even insulting to every german soldier who fought and died in ww2 . i really cannot think it is clinically possible to be whacked in the head with the stock of a rifle while holding off an adult male with one hand and stab him in the throat simultaneously for a teenager girl. The most infuriating part was when in the post mission section they said that many act of heroism would have gone unnoticed , as to say that THIS shit may have actually happened.
BF4’s story was a disgrace (mainly cuz it had no actual cutscenes). I’m glad BFV actually has a story to showcase properly EDIT: I was wrong. BFV is bad. At least it has cutscenes is all I’m sayin’
K27R how because of cutscenes Its just how they make the story bf4 wasnt great as the story was fucking weird This is eh as the story telling is boring and predicable with each story having the exact same shit
So many bloody historical inaccuracies. What the hell dice?! Tiger tank in Norway 1940, Tiger tank in the siege of Tobruk 1941 and Stg 44 in Africa and in Norway 1943...
Is this game really worth buying..? Bf1 entertained me for 5/6 months, then I dropped it. I feel like I should wait for the next bf to be really amazed and into it
To be fair with the French Senegalese Tirailleurs war story, I expected to see some of the French weapons from Battlefield 1 to make a cameo in this. I respect the effort to put these types of War Stories but what would they be worth if I see Senegalese soldiers running around with Kar98s and Lee Enfield rifles? I expected MAS-36s or MAS-38s, but these were colonial troops so really we should of saw Berthier and Lebel rifles being used. Least the Chauchat made a scene. But it’s kind of a powerful story to see: at the beginning this random French troop takes your rifle away, then you’re stuck filling sand bags, then they Commander turns to your unit, you do the deed, and now the soldiers give you a pat, a sign of mutual respect.
Too overdone mate. Those battles are extremely well known and have been portrayed in media a lot. I'd rather have these obscure stories told cause then you actually learn something. I mean no disrespect to those who fought in said battles, but like some battles have straight up been forgotten and the sacrifices with it. Its good every now and then to bring to light the sacrifices that are unknown.
@kupis1408 actually I think the whole of the South east Asia Front is under represented in media as a whole, people seem to think nothing happened after singapore fell and the british just magically reappeared after the war ended in '45 to reestablish the status quo. maybe it's because the Pacific as a whole was thoroughly unpleasent and the japanese are at points worse than the nazis, or because no one can be sodded to do their bloody research and actually find something intresting that hasn't been done before? something like, Hong Kong, Sittiang Bridge, the second Arakan Offensive, Kohima- the stalingrad of the east (or the Road of bones to the japanese), Imphal, the chindit operations, Meiktila, the race for Rangoon, Opertion Dracula, Operation Zipper (the list for india-burma goes on) this is not even taking into consideration New Guniea with the Austrailians, New Zealanders and well, the Americans. (but given the pacific is less well covered than europe we aren't gonna begrudge the inclusion of the US in the PTO are we?) I know I've left something out too, oh yeah, OSS operations in indochina come to mind, and also Force Z as well! I'm sure I'm not the only one who is annoyed that the low hanging fruit isn't being plucked right now.
