Im not really complaining because the community won't be split due to all dlc being free we really don't thank dice for the amount of free content they will be releasing
Well at least for the time being the challenges don't seem that hard. Though I hate the two challenges to resupply and heal teammates with the crates because no one ever stops for 2 seconds to use them but otherwise the challenges aren't bad but can be time consuming in the later weeks from what I've seen. I do agree I wish the weapons where not timed challenges and it was like past battlefield games. I also wish you didn't have to play conquest for the challenges I prefer breakthrough or ops seems less random to me.
Thank you for saying the chapters should be left open. I love completing these challenges, but it's a pain when you feel like you have to play the game.
Richie Padgett that’s besides the point though, the players who missed out on the new item will have to wait for an unspecified amount of time before it becomes available again. They should just have it available for unlock straight after the weekly event is over, and they should make the player do all of the same challenges to unlock the item (limit the amount of paths in the unlock tree maybe) and don’t give out XP rewards for completing each unlock challenge.
@@jmimbles8939 agree with you, currently in my busy season at work. Pulling 60 hour weeks manual labor, when I get home I need to sleep no matter how much I want to play.
Zachary Cason I feel like this was such an oversight by the devs. Definitely frustrating for those who are too busy to put the time in to play. Don’t get me wrong, If you have another person or two to help you with some of the challenges, it’s really easy to complete the weekly challenges, it’s just difficult to put the time in to do it.
Jess Kurtz I agree, a lot of us have busy lives with school or work or family and simply dont have the time to grind out the challenges just to have fun
Took me two games to get through week 1, plus you’ll still be able to unlock the weapons later down the road. Play a game with micro tans actions to get an easier experience if that’s your style
@@godspi4609 if he wants to unlock a new gun. He has to get on BFV in a specific week and do a specific challenge. Not really ideal for people with jobs, college students, or if people are on vacation
I really like what they have done with the tides of war actually , I think this has really energised the game in some areas. The VGO is a nice addition for the support class.. it’s just the sort of thing I wanted adding in the game (specialised commando/unit weapons). The character customisation is getting pretty interesting too! I am really happy with it!
7 maps of us vs japan than later 3 with u.s vs germany. Than 7 maps with german vs russia and maybe 4 maps with france vs germany, Finnland vs russia, italia vs idk and japan vs China (the last 4 fractions without Customization) that would be perfect
@Brandon Whitehurst 7 dont are too much when they coming Not at the same Time. And with the 4 maps i say on of the 4 is in france, the other One in Finnland or poland maybe and Anotherone in China...
Keep playing it will eventually go away, at least that's what happened to me, I wasted a whole day for only for the first assignment that wasn't getting completed even tho I could have finished it within few minutes if it didn't bug out
I have the same problem. Im only one assignment away to unlock the VGO. The assignment is, I have to kill a player with a stationary weapon. Almost killed 15 Players still unlocked.
No its not, it makes the game more challenging and its not hard to complete them. Also when people jump in later on they will still be able to get them, ofcourse.

One in the second floor apartments overlooking the allied truck alley (you have to climb a ladder and vault into a window to get to it.) One is on the top floor of the building overlooking the square with the AA gun. One is on the first floor of a building on the outskirts of the AA gun square. One is in a fortified position on the other side of the building to the right of your tank after you get out of it the second time. One is in a courtyard near the documents you need to collect.
I can't unlock it because my game is bugged. In the in-game pause menu it tells me that I completed the No repair challenge, but the main menu still says "nope, you didn't do it" Contacted EA support yesterday (content and technical support) and after following their solutions it still didn't work, so they told me to go to the forums and do stuff there. :/
@@frigeos6717 there is a workaround that worked for me. Disable BFV cloud save in Origin. then go into c:/users/documents/battlefield 5 and move your settings folder. Restart the game, do the first part of the prologue, then go and start the first mission of Last Tiger (easy mode is fine). You'll notice that the No Repair challenge is not already checked at the start of the mission like it was. Complete the challenge and it should unlock the skin. Then quit the game, delete the temporary settings folder, recopy your previous settings folder and re-enable cloud saves in Origin. hope that helps.
Pretty pissed that I have to sink time into the game every day to unlock the new weapons, or be forced to wait who knows how long to unlock them later. While my schedule does allow me to do this, it is a huge mistake to not allow people to unlock these new weapons at their own pace. Trying to force people to play your game through timed content isn't going to fill them with zeal to play your game. It's just going to piss them off every time. Dice seems to be determined to do everything possible to piss of their player base at every turn. Very disappointing, I was hoping that they were finally starting to learn from their massive mistakes lately.
To be honest you could probably unlock weapon in like hr and half as long as u dont get the stationary kill bug which i think might be fixed cause i unlocked it last night
It may be kind of annoying that we feel pushed to play the game a lot to unlock the new weapons, but I also think nowadays everyone is offended by everything. Everyone is pissed that he/she will not get the new weapon as soon as HE/SHE wants it... Deal with it, we will be able to get it later. It just gives the highly active players something nice to go for. Just so see it from another perspective.
@@JoeySpronck I do agree with you BUT there was nothing wrong with unlocking in BFBC2, BF3 & BF3. Medals and weapons could be unlocked at the players discretion. I think that works much better than what we've had with BF1 and now with BFV. If you want that weapon now and you have the time - go for it or if you don't have the time but want to chip away at it over time, that's cool too. Everyone's a winner.
Ofcourse they will be able to get them later on, dice confirmed that already. Wouldnt make sence if you get punished by buying the game later on, or when youre a busy worker or something
@@conkerlive101 it's not that they necessarily completely missed it. It's that dice was extremely vague about the subject. Given its ea, I wouldn't doubt some scummy scheme like an absurd amount of cc.

That is a great point about the rewards being of limited time! With the holiday season upon us, its rather stressful to try to complete all these quests while managing time with family. Open ended chapters sound fantastic

I get your point for most of the video... when talking about the range and vehicle cosmetics, I think they were rolled our simultaneously because the community complained as these were seen as "missing features" and not "additional content". Maybe they'll break it up after all the advertised (to be at release) features are implemented.
I should have the Vickers already but it won't give me the last challenge of killing one enemy with a stationary weapon even if I completed it multiple times
I got to the last challenge where you had to kill an enemy with a stationary weapon. I've killed enemies with a stationary machine gun and an AA gun and it still hasn't registered the unlock. =/
tides of war just boosted this game to a 10/10. so much stuff to do! it feels so unusual as a battlefield player to unlock tons of stuff and i really think this will even get better over time
I feel like some of my challenges for tides of war are not working. I'll through either a ammo pouch or bandages at a teammate and it dosnt count for progress. Yet I do that a hour later and it counts as if I first did it and then after I give out a few pouches it stops working. Am I the only one having this problem?
@@okay4492 been playing for a couple of hours and my challenge for the "kill 1 enemy with a stationary weapon" hasnt been counting. I've gotten kills with it and it dosnt count. Any ideas?
It's been very inconsistent. I played the first day trying to get the 20 bandage distributions and realized after an hour that I wasn't getting credit for any of them that I'd thrown out. This morning I switched to the branch that requires you to do something with ammo, or resupply at a station. I made progress on that but suddenly I was also making progress on the bandage distribution branch without trying.
@@aboxber I also noticed that at the end of each game it will show my xp and how much company coin I get. Let's say I get 2,000 xp and it shows that I earned 1,000 company coin. I go to the main menu to see I only earned 50. I'm a level 50 and it sucks that after all that work I only get 50 company coin after each game. The amount of times it says I should have gotten between 1,000 to 2, 000 company coin is insane.
I have to disagree about unlocking weapons thru weekly challenges. I understand that people do other things besides play Battlefield 5, however early rewards for players that complete the weekly challenges then allowing players later to unlock these weapons some other way rewards the highly active players first. I'm also noticing that I'm able to complete a week's worth of challenges in about 4 to 5 hours of game play, not too bad for a week's worth of challenges. I'm sure they will get harder. As long as players can eventually unlock everything then there isn't a problem. Since the content is free I feel like the game should reward active players first, if you can't play the game as much then you'll have to wait longer for unlocks. Sounds fair to me.
yeah but the game is lacking content as it is, bf1 was full of content compared to this game off launch. if they continue to release stuff like this then the game will become battlefront 2, adding a tiny bit of content every two months which will make the players comeback as soon as it is launched then there is nothing else besides one new map, which make players leave again. @@dingleberry42069

You can easily cheese the first week “heal yourself 10 times” just stand near ur deployment shoot a flare at ur feet heal, get another bandage and more ammo rinse and repeat you can do it for most of the challenges so far lol

the same goes for the last class assignment for the support. 2 of them where dumb hard but 1 was build 25 fortifications in one life,i boarded up 3 houses and got some epic skins for it XD

It still sucks that Medic guns are so weak compared to ALL the other guns :( Even in the CQB area they get outgunned by some Assault rifles. That's just wrong.
I know, they should really just give them a different type of weapon because any other class has 2 types except the medic they have 1 type of weapon which is smgs. @@heyant7753

Find a few friends on bfv or make friends. Work together to get this done. That's what I did. I play on consoles and opened a game invitation asking for people to help finish the tides of war cp1. I'm a quarter done after one game.. I'll finish it tomorrow most likely
The community needs a Battlefield 1 remasterd (including the new gun mechanics of BFV), thats it!!! I really think BF1 delivers more in terms of epic battles and immersion.
Give us battlefield Vietnam or give us nothing! Strafing caps while blasting fortunate son is by far the most fun the battlefield franchise has ever been

I just like the fact my bullets go where I want them. Everything else is just nice. Random bullet deviation was the only reason for me why I didn’t play bf1. It ruined my fun. Now I am having a blast mowing everyone down. Love the new tank map. Just Rollin around from point to point having small battles is fun.
EA just made this game perfect with this progression system. The best thing about it that if you can push for the rewards, but if you busy with your life you not missing anything because every rewards can be earned in an other way later. Only thing that EA and DICE need to communicate how that is going to work. Amazing, well done !!!

The cosmetic menu shouldn't be called "The Armory" it should be called "The Wardrobe". I clicked that menu once, saw it was a bunch of cosmetics, and closed it right back up.
Fully agree on the chapter events. I like the staggered/timed release, but they should be left open. Perhaps they could include some type of reward (ribbon/medal/dog tag???) for completing it within the initial week for those that are able to.
See no one will ever be happy. What fun would it be if you could just play with the guns as soon as you download the update? It wouldn't be and most players would get bored quickly. Giving challenges to unlock stuff keeps us busy and keeps us grinding. I love the progression in this game. My soldier rank. I can unlock stuff with that. My class ranks i can unlock stuff with that. Gun ranks and Chapter ranks gonna keep me busy for ages. I easily pour hours into this game cause i wanna unlock everything, gives me more drive to play knowing I have to work for my rewards. People asked for more progression cause of the lack of it in BF1 and now they're doing it and doing it in DLC and still no one is happy? Like come on.... Enjoy this beautiful game and stop bitching about it. Yes the iconic stuff isn't there, yes there's guns like M1 Garand I wanna use but It'll come and until then I'll enjoy what they've given us cause this game is easily one of the best games they've made...
People aren't complaining about assignments you braindead walnut. It's the fact that they're timed. Not everyone can devote their entire life to a videogame. And don't say "They come back at a later date." because it's just as likely that someone could miss both dates for an unlock.
That aspect of missing the assignment week really got me like "WTF DICE" like your reaction on twitter a couple of days ago. It's study time here, finals are coming and I would love to play BFV but I know I shouldn't. Thank god they are actually reachable after the week but I wonder how...

Completely agree with this except dumping all the season content day 1, although drip feeding would help player retention it would also cause a lot of complaints.
I'm ok with timed challenges but the timer should start once you open the challenge, so if you miss it because you're away you can still do it later but you still have to do it within the time limit.
I'm fine with the Tides of War but the thing that bother me is, what happen if you missed the week that reward the gun you want? For example: if I missed the week to unlock the VGO, how would I unlock it later on.
Nope, in the Chapter Rank I'm already ranked 13 and still have a few things to do to rank it higher. Ill probably be done Tuesday when the second chapter starts.
After the update, i got a disturbing bug...using 21:9 and any FOV above 75 makes the left arm cloth be stuck in the screen...only secondarys dont have the bug. I cant find any solution for this....really annoying.
I like tht they have stuff to unlock but I care about game play and different modes and guns. I could careless about cosmetics. I enjoy bf for the graphics and fun gameplay lol but they r trying make people happy who complained about cosmetics and skins before lol. This all sounds great but maybe i missed it can you lvl up your chapter rank by any game mode or is it only going into it and playing conquest i think it is and i think they should leave it open so you can get it any time during the chapter so 4 weeks but maybe if you do it in that week that it drops you get a skin or something
Thanks for the clarification westie. I don't like the time gate weapon unlocks. As somebody who doesn't get a lot of to play, I hope they change that so you can unlock the weapons on your own pace.
I was wondering if you could tell me what is build a snow man? It is one of the things you must do in chapter 1 when following the path, before you unlock the gun.
well the event for the VGO Machine gun is relatively easy, about 5 hours or less of playing, since most of it was spent on The Last Tiger, it didn't take long, especially with a friend.
The Key to make sure no one is left out when it comes to getting the weapons, would be to add them into the company screen after the chapter, and if you didn't get your free version for completing the chapter you just have to grind to get game currency to unlock it. Now I'm not saying make it too expensive or too cheap, but I'd say 5,000 to 10,000 would be a solid number range to work towards.
Had a question here about certain assingments cause I'm doing what the first one says by healing myself 10 times but it doesn't register the progress I make. Is there a certain amount of health I need to hit before I heal or is it just a bug currently?
