Battlefield 2042 has 100k players on Steam which is Insane considering the launch. Let's discuss and play on the new Redacted map with the crossbow. Leave a LIKE and a comment, thanks for watching.
@@5ebliminal doesn't even have to be portal... there's dedicated co-op modes on breakthrough and conquest in AOW already where you can pick any map... people just don't actually know anything about the game and only like to complain about made-up issues
Who knew that if got your AAA game into the state it should have been in at launch, in terms of content and playability, and sold it at a massive discount, it would attract players?
@@Shuganuttzdoesn’t matter buddy the point still stands. People will always complain you can’t please everyone. The point is the game was horrible at launch and that’s why no one wanted to play it
@@sondergaard913 Oh come on. It's still the worst modern BF entry, but I wouldn't say it's horrible at this point. Still tons of issues that are inherent to its design, like the inclusion of specialists, but oh well. Still solidly fun.
I had my favourite ever 'moment' in battlefield with this crossbow. On spearhead a rather brave (?) pilot landed his heli on one of the platforms side on to me, doors open. I randomly fired towards it, the single bolt heading straight through the heli from one side to the other, headshotting both the passengers in one go. Wish I'd been recording. Sheer fluke of course but so much fun.
If it was on xbox you could've used the screen recording feature to record up to 5 minutes of what just happened, although the lowest option (15 seconds) would've probably done the trick for your moment, keep it in mind for the next time something cool like this happens brother
Regardless of how good it is (now), 2042 is the last time I ever buy a Battlefield game on release, there's no excuse for 2042's launch and first year performance.
Don't even bother buying one ever again; when they fix the game after half a year or whatever after release it'll be free, and the white whales will pay for all the post launch "content"
Battlefield won't get a dime for me if they continue this trend of trendchasing with specialists. Battlefield is unique and it's time that's embraced again.
As a veteran its nice to see players enjoying this part of the franchise. I havent played much of 42 or any fps in awhile. I hope these players stay and i can find some grest matches with people Edit: wait wait wait I meant battlefield veteran not an actual veteran 🤦🏾♂️ I'm sorry
Loved this video. You could tell that Jack was having a blast using a crazy build. Always fun to do things like this in games like these. Helps break up the monotony that can come at the end of a season.
i bought it a few days ago since it was very cheap, and it feels a lot better than before, the new map is really good too, makes me feel like in operation locker
Oh man, you should try out the Portal servers that play the new map on rush with 128 people. It’s literally 5x as chaotic than operation locker on rush
I like to thank all the people that rightfully complained. I got the game free with my NVME cause of YOU. I'm so honored to receive this incredible comeback.......for FREE
I’m a long-time BF player, right from 1942. I’ve been put off after they left us with BF5 half done but the weekend drew me in and the sale price of AUD14 made it an easy choice to keep going. I’m enjoying it.
Me and my buddy are having a blast on that map, especially that is infantry only. Just last night we had that wild round where we were losing substantially but my friend flanked the enemy team and capture their furthest point forcing them to pullback which allowed us to mount a last push and we won with 14 tickets left. I have never felt such excitement for infantry play since BF2 - Strike at Karkand.
Because they fired a lot of people at DICE and got ACTUAL developers to re work on the game fast to bring back dedicated BF players. I hope they’ll never do this sloppy launch again on the next chapter of BF games
The player base is mostly new players who tried and liked it during the free to play weekend. Honestly, I'd rather see new players. BF4 is still around for the old player base.
I've been grinding out this season in between a few other games, and I think the game is really fun now. A few people i spoke to in the game said they really liked Redacted, and there's been a lot of new players since the sale!
@@TobyEckles Well that's usually the case for a battle pass. The concept of grinding XP has always been a thing in video games. And video games are fun. I didn't say I wasn't having fun playing BF2042
@@TobyEcklesyou can grind in any game tbf, like i grinded to get like 7 guns in bf2042, but its a challenge for you to get guns in the first place. You need to keep players engaged, thats why the battlepass has stuck around for such a long time, its efficient. I have fun grinding games because its rewarding to have something finally pay off.
I really enjoyed the fortification system in BFV. If you didn't want to use it you didn't have to but it could really help in a lot of situations and changed the flow up. Dice never carries over good ideas, it's kind of their thing, lol
i miss the first time i smoked my first joint that chemical release in the brain that cements the nostalgia and member berries is always good although not an indication the game was good.
I had the game at launch. Was completely disappointed with the state of the game, performance, lack of legacy features, the Specialists and just the general feel of the game. Lacked so much. Periodically I jumped in to check it out and just couldn't bring myself to enjoy it. Then the fixes came in. Changes to mechanics. Additions to features (albeit ones that should have been there). I stopped letting the Specialists bug me. The maps got better. Performance was solid. Now I actually enjoy the game - as much as I can't believe it. Still nowhere near the fun I had with the like of BF1, which is on a whole other level of immersion and gameplay, but it has at least been brought up to a level that I can actually get enjoyment out of it. Most of my friends who wrote the game off too, are now enjoying it as well. So Dice did make a nice turnaround, even if it isn't the same Battlefield we all love. Just a shame that companies have to keep "fixing" their games to get it to this point.
I feel the same, literally felt ripped off initially because I was dumb enough to pre order even though I told myself I'd wait. Now I can actually play it and it's a solid experience.
My thoughts exactly except replace bf1 for bf2/3. Have to say though that the great thing about bf2042 is that portal allows me to have that classic class system when I do get the itch. I do think the main game would have better team play with the old class system but the specialists do have some pros too in that you can get some really fun/crazy moments. It does work.
I’ve been really enjoying this game recently, it’s got the “fun” factor for me right now and I’m really hoping they continue to support it for at least 3 more seasons! It’s come a long way from its launch state.
Is it a coincidence the biggest Battlefield RU-vidrs release videos at the same time with almost the same title, thumbnail, and topic? What are the odds?
I really like where they are going - And am hopefull for the future. They fell on their noses, stood back up and turned it around. so no matter if it's a new battlefield or more of this getting better, works both for me. It''s been a long time since the mates and I had such a Blast in this game
I didn't realize how annoyed I would be if someone in a youtube video didn't break the spawn beacon that i heard or saw. You saying "yeah i saw that" made me realize it and appreciate you for not leaving it lol
I just got this game on the 10 buck deal and I’m really enjoying the gunplay reminds me of 4 however the connection issues u get maybe 3 match in and then u have to hard shut down and back up
Ive always been confused as to why people like maps like this. Its either you are sitting at the end of a corridor just throwing grenades, dying or running around behind to get a few kills before getting killed
I guess just because it provides a little variety. Something to play other than the wide open maps. I liked Locker in BF4 but don't really care for Redacted. The map is decent but the game mechanics and instadeath make it unbearable.
On one hand, I do like this map, not having to deal with vehicles is nice. But on the other, I’m constantly dealing with clueless blueberries who don’t watch the long tunnel which goes from one end of the map to the other, which should be watched to prevent the enemy team from taking the home point.
I love how excited you are while playing this Jack! Really brings back the memories, I think this is the most excited you’ve been in a while when playing BF! I’m all here for it :)
It’s tough on RU when they’re spawn trapped. The out of bounds on US prevents enemies from having line of sight on the zip out of spawn, but the RU spawn zip is easily farmed since out of zone starts at the door way
But hey, the RU side has a slight advantage because of that. Every single match, the RU team reaches and caps C1, while the US team hasn't even reached B1!
8:30 "Stay back demons!" Random comment, but this Jack reminded me of Ark Jack where he was roleplaying as an adopted mother and he avenged his dead daughter. (YT randomly recommended it to me recently)
I thought Redacted was very unbalanced at first, but since then I have not had an even match at all and it’s been completely random which way it’s been biased. Pretty sure it’s just bad balance because some teams just seem to suck at working together.
Great video Jack! Love your content. Have been a long time fan. With the new bf infantry only map reminicent of the old metro maps would you ever do a one of video with Marino , level cap and the rest again?
This update has ruined what made bf2042 enjoyable to play. They patched it to make it less fun, and it's just so boring now. The amount of guns nearly 2 years post launch is still laughably small.
I think after the recent weekend hike in players, Battlefield and the 2042 player base deserve more seasons considering the first 2 years were rough. There should be support up until they release the next Battlefield.
Naturally so… the distance from D1 to C1 is way longer than A1 to B1… just observe the enemy team capping the flags. There’s at least 5 seconds difference. That is the reason, the US team is always in a disadvantage. And if your team is bad too, you’re getting that ass penetrated like no tomorrow.
The most aggravating thing about the new map is the tunnels. For some odd reason one team always sends half their team into the tunnels to flank while the other team ignores the tunnels entirely. And then you try to tell your team that the enemy team is taking the tunnels, and you get some childish response. USE THE TUNNELS PEOPLE!
Glad someone else understands. Any time I have EVER tried to get people to work as a team in 2042, it's either just silence or "lul it's battlefield stfu". Oh how Battlefield has fallen.... All the teamwork oriented people went to other games like BRs and Squad
@@whatNtarnation90Reminds me back in BF4 in Operation Locker, the moment you say "SNOW" people would usually know enemies are flanking outside trying to get to C or the other obj and rush to block them.
A few days ago I played BF2042 and unistalled after 2 days. Yesterday I played BF4 again after a about half a year...man, BF2042 has nothing on BF4...nothing
Really happy the game has won over a big playerbase, i hope they take the opportunity to release more content and try to keep those players. A really fun game now.
It's to their best interest to continue support IMO. If they continue to do well, it would be a better spring board for the next installment rather then an awkward quiet period for a few years.
I still can’t stand the non military or lack of. Specialists on both sides is unimmersive.asththetic this has compared to BF3-4. Regular military training infantry grunt soldiers.
The last time I played battlefield was battlefield 3 on Xbox 360 now I got back into it for the free access but I got so into it that I decided to buy it and even the season pass kind of giving me some good old times playing this game also I’m on pc so it’s actually a better experience
This game was free too play i think in may 2023. You could downloaded it for free with playstation plus. This game has made a comeback, all maps reworked and bugs fixed. If you have a choice between Cod with thick sbmm and games are rigged, or bf2042 with no sbmm and fair gameplay than the choice is easy bf2042 all the way.😊
Crazy how they did this. Hope this shows them that listening to the fans is the best way to make a good game. The only thing I would still want from 2042 is some work for the gunplay. The recoil feels a bit cheap and the guns rather unrealistic. Taking some inspiration from CoD would improve the gunplay by a lot. But it's still great to see that they managed to turn this game around
x2 at what our friend sv_11. since it came out the game gunplay didnt have a drop of battlefield, was pure cod. an horribly copy. they just reeeeeeeeeeally only need to look back at older battlefield, 3, 4, even 1 and V
@@SV_11 The gunplay is the only thing CoD is nailing rn. It feels punchy and realistic. I agree that the entire customization stuff was bs but you can't deny that the gunplay in CoD is better than in 2042, where it feels uninspiring. Don't get me wrong, I hate everything that CoD does currently with their content, sbmm, mtx etc. etc.
@@moritzrossbroich yeah the gunplay in cod does look great, completely agree but what I meant to say is that it already looked like they wanted to be similar to cod, but it just turned out way worse than it was before
This game was like the opposite of cyberpunk for me. As time went on I liked cyberpunk more and more but this game is still the same old shitter from 3 years ago 😂
The same thing i have been saying from day 1, make smaller maps. Map sizes of Bfbc2 and Bf3 were perfect. Smaller maps = more action. And you can also maintain the quality of game. Lower the player count to 40/40, 80 players are enough in 1 map.
@jackfrags really sounded like you enjoyed the game play on this one 😁 glad 👍 great vid as always 🤘 thank you. Ps. Made me come back from my cod "hole" to have a good dose of bf💪
Well what good is about this map is that you have the locker feeling, but there are a lot of places to go so you don t end up in 1 point where everyone goes all the time like they had in locker end metro
If I wasn’t playing Spider-Man 2 I would continue playing battlefield. Ive had a lot of fun coming back the last few weeks and battlefield has done a great job improving and actually making great changes.
This map, played it last week after not playing BF2042 for roughly 6 months, reminded me a lot of BF4's Operation Locker or BF3/4's Metro. Where I did like Metro on maps where the UCAV in BF4 was allowed (it stays amazing to just fly your UCAV with warheads through the tunnel up to the second flag and just shatter everyone around it to pieces), I spent a lot of time playing the Metro clusterfuck. I haven't played BF2042 as much as I anticipated, more like due to it not giving the same feel and joy as BF4, but I do like maps like these on hardcore-only servers. Maybe I'll play more during the winter season.
