Jack!!! The white horse could refer to the Battle of White Horse during the Korean War. I’ve been doing research and that war is really a war that changed everything. Had the US dropped tactical nukes like MacArthur wanted it could’ve changed warfare forever. Just a thought.
I'm calling it right now. The game is going to be set across multiple times in war, WW2, korea, Vietnam, iraq, afghan... Then why would you buy from the main rival, COD. always set in one time period.

And besides, they did something like that for Starwars Battlefront 2. It just never got to shine. So there is probably going to be 2 at the very least, WW2 and Korea. WW2 hasn’t been covered in a while, and there is still many fronts in WWII which are not covered in video games, including the war in China, I think there is very few that cover the stuff that happened in Thailand, and Burma, and parts of India. And I’m sure many people would like a refresher on some of the great stories from the previous battlefield WW2 game, and the many other games which have covered WWII, and if they add Korea, they will pretty much have that locked down, especially with some of the great stories that are in the Korean War, dogfights and all that.
World War 2? Cool. Korea? Cool. Vietnam? Cool. Modern Day? Cool. In fact I wouldn't even mind a futuristic game if it follows the trails and gameplay of 2142 almost exactly. However, I have an uncle who has told me many stories from when he was in Vietnam in 1969. There were so many terrible and inspiring things that happened that are worth being told in a singleplayer story from that war, it would be silly to not take that direction. Oh yeah, and the music. The fucking amazing music.

One phrase that really got me thinking was the mention of multiple theatres of war. The only time I've heard of theatre being used is during world war 2. I'm putting my bet this is revolving around ww2.

I hoped its based around modern setting or near future like BF4, honestly, BF4 was one of the best games of the decade after it was patched and fixed up.
I don't get why so many people want the Korean War... it wouldn't have enough content for a BF game. It could work as a DLC, but as a whole seperate game? I don't think so.

Jason Infantry No, not at all. I can't speak on CoD WWII, but BF1 was alright. The thing is that I'm not interested in playing through WWII, WWI, and barely even Vietnam. I prefer games that are set in today's setting, like the Modern Warfare series.

If people are not wanting another game set in an alternate time then modern time, maybe because you didn’t enjoy it. It didn’t leave a lasting impression with you. Most likely WWII as we went back in time, plus V is used a lot in WWII and I had a feeling it was V-DAY when it first came out so. But Vietnam would be a nice contrast like comes out of nowhere but welcome.
I feel this might be Battlefield: Vietnam, because I don't feel like Dice would use Roman numerals instead of modern numbers. They didn't name Battlefield 4 "Battlefield IV", so why would they choose to use Roman numerals this time?
Here's my take on the purpose/meaning of the "V" in the title. With the wording in the 10 points I get the impression there could be 5 time periods for the game, these settings could possibly be WW1 - WW2 - Vietnam/Korea/Afghanistan - Iraq (2003) - Future Setting.
People need to remember, no one has done a World War One game as good as BF1, a very informative game aswell with lots of hints and further knowledge of the war in loading screens! Appreciate them educating you on the War to end all Wars

I don't see how we are going to get diverse and SURPRISING maps when it's just Korea or Vietnam. It's too limited. An expansion at best. We need to think about eras and conflicts in which you could possibly go all around the world. Modern, futuristic (pls no), Cold War in general and WW2 are an option.

Gage of Steel if V was for Victory Day symbolizing WWII they would have dropped the teaser on may 8th... which was Victory Day. That is too big of an oversight and opportunity missed for that to be the case.
Honestly I only want to know it's era. If it's ww2 I'll miss this. Anything else, well let's see what you got. Iv loved bf3 and 4 but this era shit is a massive wall to me (and many others it seems).

Interesting fact, during WWII, America pulled a thing called the "Double V" campaign, or "Double Victory". They wanted a victory in America, against discrimination, and a victory across the sea against fascism.
i think it's Battlefield 5, the V is for 5, because the "V" is below the "BATTLEFIELD" like Battlefield 3 and 4, while in Battlefield 1, the "1" is on the Right, so i think that the next Battlefield is the continuation of the 4. If it was the continuation of the 1, the "V" would have been ON THE RIGHT. I THINK (i'm french so sorry for my english)
What I really want in this next battlefield game is Gore.. and 3d audio and destruction like bf1 but better and with micro destruction like in bf3 close quarters. So a bit like R6 Siege. And also it really doesn't matter what setting it will be.. past awesome. Modern awesome. Futuristic? Awesome because 2142 was super fun. But I would love to see a ww2 game sinds last bf game was 1942.. I don't count 1943 because that wasnt a full game.

Tuelz exactly. I really don't mind what setting the game would be. With destruction available even futuristic battlefield would be cool. Can you think of it how amazing it would be with laser cannons and stuff lol but as I said the setting doesn't matter it will be awesome for sure.
It'll be a FPS dated in modern times. It'll be essentially an updated Battlefield 4 with some new things. Just how Call of Duty is. No need to get hyped for anything beyond that.
