My brother was telling me how they were super respectful in b1 with the brutal truth of war and all these young kids fighting in them. In contrast b5 takes real stories and replaces the men with wahmen instead of telling the real stories of wahmen in ww2. Playing b1 you feel scared and heart ache during the campaign or at least I did to some degree. b5 looks like it has no atmosphere. Just another run and gun fps
Tbh I liked the sound of movement in BF1, such as sprinting, more. It’s not just footsteps, but you can also hear all of that heavy equipment you’re supposed to be carrying (like the rocket gun) clunking around on your body.
maybe it's because i have pretty great speakers but I heard all of that in BFV's sound in this video. Just all sounds slightly turned down and more emphasis on movement
iKickBullies I do hear what appear to be his pouches or equipment in BFV, but in BF1 you can hear the clicking of metal as well as the rustling of his other equipment that lets you know that he’s carrying a lot.
Battlefield 1’s darkness helped add to the feel that the events in-game are historical. The brightness of Battlefield V doesnt give as much of that effect. But overall, both are good games.
@@deepdog8729 I'm just saying that the frosbite engine is used from batledield 3 including the BF 3,4,1,5 and the batlefron 2, and the previous installments including the bf 3 have better and more realistic explosion effects than the batlefield V but batlefron 2 is I have enjoyed a great game since it came out
I actually had a chance to look at some clothing detail in an EXTREME close up during the campaign. I was playing Nordlys, during the final level. I killed a German soldier, and his body rolled down a hill to me. I proned in front of him and realised that his textures were extremely detailed... You can literally see every individual fibre that had been weaved into the uniform. That's no exaggeration. His face textures looked muddy as hell, (not sure why) but his clothing texture was seriously impressive. It was a sort of twilled weave, and really high quality, too. It was one of those video game things where my face was literally pressed against his uniform so I could see EVERYTHING. In BF1, the textures were good, but not really quite as impressive. However, they're a bit more consistent in BF1. There are a couple of problems where textures meet in BFV.
@@JackLively yeah battlefield V uniforms really shine at some parts but is not as consistent like you said, as well as it being in the campaign the graphics are a bit more detailed because of it being a single player mode but at the same time it is a different time period as well as battlefield V being more bright and colourful than battlefield 1 being more dark toned
I feel like you are more emerged in BF1 than in BF5. I can recall several times where I felt like I where actually there in the battle, especially on the European maps when it was dark, gritty and thick smoke everywhere. It felt like an old tape recording from the time. I have much harder time recalling such experiences in BF5 with its hollywood explosions and bright graphics. The only times I almost get such feelings in BF5 is when it is raining or thre is fog or somthing similar that darkens the setting. Also the new customization in BF5, though fun and all, makes the battle feel more like a Halloween party than a battle between two highly organised armys. It does really ruin the immersion when you see a German soilder runing through the desert in his thickest winter coat
Honestly I preferred the bfV effects, but I do get a satisfaction from bf1 that I just can't get in bfV , I actually quit 5 just Because it just felt too easy and too much like a wannabe cod and not for the better
Yeah it's just shallow with hardly much to do with minor tweaks and improvements making it okay to be called a new game but the menu UI is fucking stupid
Bf5 has more content on release then any other battlefield ever released yet you people say it lacks "content". You obviously played for 10 minutes and went back to what you are used too. Bf5 is superior in every way.
Good thing this isnt the infantry.. its a video game that exaggerates every aspect of war to make it fun and enjoyable. Hollywood explosions look better in a game like this. Realistic puffs of smoke can stay in military sims instead
@@Nick930 Go take a gander at the effects in every previous Battlefield game, and especially Battlefield 2; the series staked its entire reputation on being the more realistic of the Big Two mainstream combined arms multiplayer shooters. Leave the Hollywood effects to Call of Duty.
@Bryce Moll Hit or miss, I guess they never miss huh? You got a boyfriend I bet he doesn't kiss ya, muah. He gon find another girl and he won't miss ya. He gon skeet and hit the dab like Wiz Khalifa.
Im Epi eh they feel very different. I’ve played BF1 for hundreds of hours and BFV feels very different. Other than that visually it’s usually filters and higher fidelity.
I liked the “blue filter” and darker version. They give it atmosphere and visually represent the grit and bleakness of war. It’s the same reason war movies don’t have the bright colours of say, guardians of the galaxy. Imagine if Saving Private Ryan was very colourful lol
I wish DICE would bring back levelution like BF4, I know in some maps like Lancang Dam it made the map worse, but with how the frostbite engine is now I feel like it could be a lot more dynamic. Like (using Shanghai as an example) if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left. I think the massive map changes made BF4 really cool and I hope they would bring it back to new battlefield titles.
The levolution on Lacang Dam did barely anything to change the map. Siege of Shanghai though was ruined when the skyscraper was taken down as the best fights occurred up there. Of course this is already somewhat ruined when DICE decided it was a good idea to allow attack helicopters on a map with lots of cover without any effective counter like anti-air.
" if you destroy the left side of the buildings base it could fall to the left." Thats NOT levolution, thats a more dinamic destruction... Levolution was just the same instanced destruction always seen but on big/iconical unpractical elements of the maps
I have 30 hours on this game and I just don’t Find it fun. There is nothing there for me to earn through playing the game. In bf1, BF4, and bf3 I played because I wanted this Gun or I wanted to attain a rank, but in bfV I don’t care for any of that. Idk why but it’s just not fun.
the improvements in movement, and types of things you can do (both yourself and when watching other players) is an enormous step up from BF1. the only thing BF1 seemed better with was the smoke/dust from explosives lasting longer - but maybe that just partially has to do with where it was tested.
Bf1 immersion is just a lot better. Everything looks so movie like and soldiers, weapons and atmosphere look more robust. The sounds and screams are so powerful with deep impact, kinda like I would imagine being there. Bf1 is just pure war atmosphere. Bf1 has it's technical problems, but in all around feel its so good.
The Dynamite explosion in BF1 is more realistic than in BF5, cause of the smoke after affect, and in BF1 there is a lot of dirt thrown around the map witch makes it more Dynamic than in BF5,and doesn't simply show the same small crater of dirt each explosion from different explosive.
The Soundtrack to BF1 cannot be touched by any AAA game. The visual tone and soundtrack (score) are an absolute perfect match. BFV is a cartoon that caters to Fortnite kids.
When I first saw bf1 I thought the graphics in video games could not get better , I see bfv graphics and I’m like oh nice graphics smh dice really let us down on this one
Honestly, the desaturated lighting in BF1 fits the aspect of war much better. Yes, I know war doesn’t make everything dark and gloomy in real life, but when playing a game at home you don’t feel the darkness and the horrific atmosphere of war, and I think desaturating the world perfectly compensated for that. It is effectively a replacement of all your senses combined getting hammered by the brutality of war, for just your visual sense while playing.
What bothers me the most about these comments is everyone complaining about how unrealistic BF5 is because it's "too colorful" Just because Steven Spielberg made everything grey in Saving Private Ryan doesn't mean that WW2 actually looked like that And don't give me the "It's because the smoke and the smog caused by the machines of war" argument because it's not true. It doesn't work like that.
BFV's graphics are pretty good but tbh the improvements feel kinda...unecessary. i mean sure footprints being there longer and blowing leafs are cool, but they also take away FPS for stuff u barely even notice when u are shooting enemies and explosions errupting on the sidewalk. And i like the explosiona of BF1 more because of the realism. Overall i would say that BFV made improvements, yes, but unecessary ones that just take away FPS for things u barely notice.
1:50 Battlefield 1's lighting is darker than Battlefield V is because thats the atmosphere in a warzone. Mud, a lot of smoke gritty, dark and destroyed trees. And yes, BFV is more brighter and more beautiful and I love that feature. But when compared to Battlefield 1's atmosphere it looks like an actual battlefield and a warzone. Battlefield V's atmosphere.... just looks like it wants to be like Fortnite.
I know i'm being a beech about it, but its a recurring theme when browsing the foreign internet to see people looking at battlefield V RTX running on 30fps, three years ago, and saying it is "miserable" If so... Then what is my PC? I dont like to say "haha first world problems" bcz this is an analysis after all, he's a game critic so he's harsh with the words and i'm aware of it, i also dont want to be going around making people feel bad about themselves just because they were born in a more economically/technologically better place and situation than mine But just a first gen RTX 2000 series costs multiple minimum wages here, and i worked freaking hard to build my first gaming pc this year, and i dont think it can run battlefield V above 60fps with rtx OFF This comment is really big but its not cuz im angry or anything, its just a view that i felt like sharing, and most of it is just me trying to not look toxic Im very proud of my PC, and i'll get an rtx one day but for now im very very glad, i'm not gonna say where i live but where i live the most graphically advanced games that i see the kids and teens playing(i'm 23) is still PS2 and android mobile games, and not everyone can olay genshin or cod mobile, but still, people can still get better phones on christmas at least, and let me tell you, my country's gen Z are a horde of game modding masters to make all kinds of modifications to make games run faster, minecraft pocket edition with 8x8 textures, a lot of graphic downgrade mods and even resolution decreasing through root, thats not a trend thats actually a necessity if you want to play the latest games and dont have the latest gear (and with latest gear i mean anything from less than 3, 4 years ago) Thats it Gaming pcs are like Cadillacs
For me personally on technological and graphical scale, every Battlefield sine Battlefield 3 has been a half step forward (excluding Hardline which was one step forward two steps back imo) So Battlefield 4 felt like Battlefield 3.5, Battlefield 1 felt like a solid step up so it was a true BF4, and BF5 is like BF4.5 (BF1.5 if you want to get technical) so the next one Bf6 or whatever it ends up being will be a full step up from Battlefield 1. Again purely on a technological and graphics scale.
@@dayumgirlRS "No historical accuracy in either."? Just because there's females, other races, and wounded soldiers that aren't supposed to be there? The maps are based on real world locations. The battles and the guns too (although some of them are prototype), everything else were given thorough research by the dev team so you ought to give respect.
They took the bs that pissed everyone off away and you do not even realize any of the PC shit in the game unless you are looking really hard for shit that doesn't matter who cares that woman are in the game.
bf1 is a lot more realistic because of 1: The lighting is supposed to be darker because it's absolute death and war and not light and bright 2: The realism of bf1 is a lot more than bf5. Dot sights where NOT supposed to be strapped on an mp40 or and stg44 in ww2. While bf1 does have it's weird history moments, it's a lot better than bf5. 3: The sound design of bf1 is A LOT better than bf5. It's so cinematic when your playing operations and you charge up into the next sector and everybody screams their war cry and the sound of whistles tells everybody to charge. Plus of course the headshot sound is very rewarding.
I can't even say which one is better they are really similar to each other and each one has its way of doing things like the colors are dark in bf 1 cuz it was in ww1 so that gets the player more in the game's atmosphere Same thing with bf3 and bf4
