BFV's M1 Garand had not one, not two, not three, but at least four different reload animations, all animations randomized, giving the weapon an extremely organic, less robotic feeling. I always admired that detail.
i think this is kinda the point of portal they aren’t supposed to be 1:1 recreations otherwise they wouldn’t have done tac reloads. they aren’t that stupid. it was very much intentional.
Ah I see WW2 soldiers are learning how to do tactical reloads and holding pistols 2 handed from their modern descendents. And let's not talk about how anachronistic they are reloading with fingers away from trigger
Why they didn't just port the BFV animations remains to me a mystery, I understand porting isn't as easy as just copy and pasting, but it would have been a better solution to what they did instead.
Apparently, the Frostbite engine requires the developer to start from scratch when programming. That's why many features from games like BFV wasn't able to port over Quality of Life improvements from Hardline and 4.
@@munanchoinc Ah well that is fair enough. The Frostbite engine sounds like such a bitch to deal with, one wonders if they really should continue using it if it causes so much hassle. Of course I'm no game developer so I'm sure they have their reasons.
BFV depicted the bolt usage of the Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk. 1. Always finger and thumb by British manuals, and allow faster firing. I haven't played 2042 yet, but I don't know why they decide to go with palming the bolt. It's slower..
It's called the "Mad Minute". They shoot with their pinky fingers while charging the bolt with their thumb and index fingers. You can also do it to other bolt action rifles although best done with a Lee Enfield.
Most of the portal animations are either crappy ports from the base game that don’t fit the weapon at all our was done by a intern at criterion/dice la
2042 just feels too stiff. Previous battlefields have been pretty loosey goosey. Personally I’ve never liked how pistols feel in battlefield games, but 2042 pistols are egregious
