Truth. Movement still beats anyone parrying every attack though. Those fights against good players is like an insane chess match.

Yo good job; I've played since the day before launch and haven't done that before. I got close the day before yesterday but died shortly after the second one

After this video I was able to 1v2 consistenly, I only won one 1v3 though.

That's a good idea, it would be nice to see more updated guides for 2020

1. I've found that most who play as Vader don't seem to realise how slow he is even when he's just turning (so try and go for the back.. honour is for dead men;)) 2. Environs with a lot of obstacles help as they can block his saber throws, just try to not get backed in to a corner. Most characters you can easily evade in that situation but with Vader that isn't an option because A. He's a tank, and B. If you try to jump out of the corner he'll just choke you and then you're stuck. 3. Attacking when you're in close proximity is fine as long as you remember to put your guard up the instant after the attack animation has ended. 4. Pick your hero accordingly. A battle can be won and lost simply by your choice of character.

5. Utilise your dodge/evade button. Running away leaves you exposed (especially if you are controlling a slow hero), but using the dodge function allows you to make your way to a preferred area (or escape an unwinnable battle) without the downside of being vulnerable to attack.

That’s not what he’s saying. It pretty much is a mechanic now, but it originated as a bug when the old saber combat was removed at the start of 2019

Parrying is great but if u just abuse it all of the time & the only thing u do is parry then it starts to become gay & toxic

It’s safe to say I got the parry down gosh idk like a month ago. Honestly isn’t even that hard I came back to see if there was more I could learn. I thought this comment was older but it’s only two months old. It’s crazy to see how much I improved in two months.

to be fair, isn't it a bug that occured a good bit AFTER launch? at least from the wording of everything i've seen, it was not there from the beginning and was a bug that players adopted as a feature, like that one thing in smash bros brawl that became a feature. so not all that surprising that folk who play casual aren't aware of its existence

To start the lock, a defender must first PERFECT parry your attack. When that happens, you’ll take one hit, but can initiate the lock by slightly delaying your next attack to perfect parry their attack. Then the chambering will start, and it will go on for as long as you two are still attacking each other at the same constant speed. If one person is too slow with the timing and breaks the cadence, they won’t be able to chamber back and they will get hit. However, if both players are equal in the timing of the attacks, then it go on until someone runs out of stamina, or you do a sneaky trick like dodge behind them and hit them. Most players won’t have the reaction time to react to something like a dodge during a lock, as they will probably already be confused as to what’s happening, and they will be partly blinded by all the flashes happening on the screen. Long answer but that’s the best I can really explain it. But the most important thing is that it is started after a PERFECT parry, not a normal one. Use the other countering tips against a normal parry Additionally, you’ll know if you’re doing chambering wrong if you find yourself getting perfect parried every attack, as you can see in this video P.S. I think it may also be possible to start a parry lock without taking that first hit, as you can see in the last part of my chambering segment. However, I think that requires stupid amounts of timing beyond a human’s normal reaction speed, so I think that just comes down to anticipation skills and luck. 99% of the time you will take that first hit

@@FulcrumHQ99 I have a question. You said "initiate the lock by slightly delaying your next attack"... this is where I'm confused. All forms of parrying involve holding the block button, yes? So when do I not hold the block button? And for how long (not holding block), usually, to start chambering? And by "next attack" do you mean me as the attacker attacking for a second time by pressing the attack button (R2 on PS4) once with a slight delay as you said while NOT holding the block button? And then immediately after that I hold the block button again? Sorry for going into this level of detail but this mechanic really is timing-sensitive...

dueling with only jump attacks or dodges is boring and less intense, With parrying, especially parry locking, this makes the game more fun for all since there's a higher skill ceiling
