BATTLESTATIONS PACIFIC RESURRECTED In War Thunder (New BATTLEGROUP Gamemode) 

*Hey all!* We’re really excited to show you more about *BATTLEGROUP* within the next few weeks, and yes, there will most certainly be public servers live soon. Below I’m going to put a list of common questions that may be of use. If you have anything else you’d like to know, put it below and I’ll do my best to reply. *Q. How many players per side?* There will be 32 players per team with AI also boosting that number. *Q. Do I need high tier ships and planes?* No, not at all. The entry-level ships for this mission are the reserve destroyers and tier I & II aircraft. *Q. How does spawning work?* Each player has unlimited lives but will need to earn supply points in order to deploy higher powered vehicles from their dedicated factory points. *Q. Can I capture a shipyard with a plane?* Yes, you can use boat planes. *Q. Can we attack the D point?* Yes. *Q. Can we use LVTs to capture shipyards?* Not right now, but we may consider it for the memes. *Q. Can I spawn a battleship straight away?* No, you’ll have to build up your points by starting in early warships and aircraft. *Q. WHEN CAN I PLAY?!* We'll be announcing public servers within the next few weeks. Make sure you're joined to Phly's discord server for announcements and updates. As a mod developer for Battlestations Pacific, I find this really interesting how you are able to recreate an entire game mode from an 11-year-old game into a modern-day MMO. Very impressive on the work on Battlegroup! Hats down to you!

Battlestations pacific was the first game i played as a kid that really got me into ww2 vehicles and tactics which eventually led to war thunder. Love this.

When gaijin doesn't make new game modes so the community does it instead . . . Bravo!

Gaijin, please take note of this and implement this as the go-to gamemode: sincerely a naval player

This is magnificent. On the other hand, it serves as a sad reminder of WTs wasted potential... Just imagine having some diverse gamemodes which are actually engaging and fun to play in the long term.

I would actually sell my soul to get either A. This sponsored by Gajin, including maybe all types of ships (Submarines, Iowas, Kongos, etc etc) and actual accurate guns (Type 26 aa guns, Japanese 150mm coastal guns, etc etc) or B. Square Enix, (Who now owns Edios, the peeps who made BP) to make a new BP.

Wait a minute, this doesn't look Almost Fun. This looks ACTUALLY fun. Can't be War Thunder...

After the D point capture: The mission...the nightmares...they're...finally...over....

Oh dude imagine Webe also added ground vehicle combat in this gamemode so you can capture the points in the big islands by destroying pill boxes, fortified positions etc.

This is almost exactly what I’ve been saying WT needs for a long time. - Less power creep, less about grinding, more about playing and therefore waaay less toxicity across all levels - Dynamics. Now there is incentive to actually move instead of sitting and waiting to ambush, which in then turn creates a whole load of different situations like brawls, long range engagements, and actual strategy. -Overall freedom. Unlimited spawns. You have nothing to lose now. Go have fun! No more restraints keeping you from doing something. For almost a year now I’ve been saying I wish WT would almost follow a DCS/Hoggit campaign style: Unlimited spawns, the more you do the better, dynamics so that everything is not so boring. Multiple roles to play, and a ton of things to do. But multiple people told me that DCS is far too realistic and therefore not practical in WT. It’s not about the realism for me. It’s about the freedom DCS has in its meta that WT simply doesn’t have. What a welcome thing to hear about.

Battlestations Pacific is one of my favorite games of all time, I cant believe people are resurrecting it

When I played Battlestations Pacific for the first time it really inspired me to play more ww2 games and learn about the war. I still enjoy playing it.

This WILL literally get me back into playing War Thunder again. All the updates over the last few years have been meh, to me. But THIS, this has absolutely sparked my interest... 😐

Webe's intro alone piqued my interest. Seeing the Zeros, Wildcats, B-25s, and Catalinas in such a prominent role definitely took me back to the early days of War Thunder. I'm definitely feeling a little nostalgic right now. Well done, lads. This sure makes me wonder what the community could come up with in terms of tank maps.

All we need now is , tanks on the map, and player controlled aircraft careers which can give commands to the aircrafts, and aircrafts are real online pilots who have to get there

I loved playing Battlestations Pacific when younger on the Xbox 360. My favorite mission was Guadalcanal playing as the IJN i for some reason found it funny when I would use artillery to repel the beach landings.

As soon as I heard the Battlesation music I was hit with so much nostalgia I nearly died XD. God I loved those two games.

Day 2: Play the P-51C-10 to show em a little trick you learned

I'm one of the rare ones that actually LOVES playing Fleet! And I love that strategy can truly be used because of the environment. And using Arcade features to maneuver and such really makes it more fun. This levels the playing field by a LOT!!! This was damn near perfect!

If we could earn RP in this, I'd never play any other mode

The air to sea attack is going to EPIC !! I'm loving the less complex gameplay. Adds a different element to the game for sure. Imagine going in with 10-12 P-47's and wiping out the ground tanks, clearing out the AA and then letting the B-17's come in for runs on ship...... speechless

I'm happy to see this, battlestations Midway and pacific are the whole reason I ever got into history, learning more from my great grandpa who worked on the planes of that time and playing with them in game felt so nice. Got me to look into the whole of the history of WW1-2 Korea and ect. It was a shame that a 3rd game never came out

the one element we're missing is the ability to control your ship and planes movements (not just your own boat), something very unique to Battlestations Miday/Pacific that I loved so much.

This is perfection itself. Get a bunch of folks together and start out in PT boats to build up your points. Then jump in to F4U-1A Corsairs and play Black Sheep Squadron! (Yes, I’m old enough to remember watching the original broadcasts of the show) Sure, you’ll have to fight it out over who gets to be Pappy Boyington. But so very worth it.

Nice, Phly! You’re using PT-109. Along with being Kennedy’s boat, that’s the Elco 80 footer that the USN PT boats in the Battlestations series are based on. Give it to them like it’s going out of style.

Hey Phly Idk if you’ll see this but I just watched your video about the game mode Battle group but since Warthunders new update, my potato computer graphics card can’t handle the game. I love your content and I’m so happy to see that the game I’ve been playing for years has gotten so popular thanks to you and Oddbaws, WEBE, Benny and everyone else. Keep up the great content and I hope to see you on the battle phield once again.

I can see the magnetic sea mines for the pby being very useful for guarding/ laying traps for parts of the map

This is the best thing to happen to naval battles since reserve destroyers! Which I know is recent but 2 huge game changers so quickly are really bringing people to naval battles.

One of my major gripes with destroyers and up in naval battles is that it's pretty much only long ranged combat. Mortars and torps are essentially useless when you're only fighting at 10km ranges. This map looks like it'll be able to force large ships into close quarters battle, which would really be interesting. Looking forward to trying it out sometime.

This one video has convinced me, I’ve been a 4 year player of World of Warships, but the realism of Warthunder’s navel warfare has convinced me. I just hope amphibious assaults are included.
