The cardboard tokens from the the Alpha Strike starter box do A LOT to help with record keeping for who has moved, how they did it, and even gives free objective tokens. It's pretty handy.

Just keep in mind that this is the Alpha Strike ruleset, which is significantly different from Classic Battletech. You'll note the lack of a hex grid..

I like the d12 system more. I get that the criticals are significantly more common using it, but I really don't like rolling 6 pairs of differently colored dice and then figuring out whats what. My buddy does this in Classic to roll everything at once and at some point I just have to trust his eyeballs since it just looks like a bunch of colors to me. I roll every attack one at a time, which is fine in Classic, but really slows Alpha Strike down.

Hi new to battletech. A question to clarify something please. So you are rolling multiple sets of d6 in attacks. So is that how much damage that mech does and your using it as a number of attack value more than a damage value? Is that in the rule book ? I just ordered the new box and I can't wait for it to turn up. Thanks

It’s called ‘Variable Damage’ and is an optional rule in the Alpha Strike Commanders edition rulebook. Damage results from the pairs that hit and not from those that don’t.

i really dislike this style of play, but this was very entertaining!!😉 i totally disagree with u guys readily telling the other player how much armor and such, specific mechs have...i think it would be more playable when u only rely on ur senses and don't know technically, the specific stats on a mech at any given time!!🤨🤔 also, watching...no offense, but some of ur guys rolls suck!!!😜 u have to at least turn over ur wrists on a roll to make them legit, its a basic roll for any game with dice! in any legit gambling establishment, u guys would be accused of cheating!😜
