@@fokka6010 None. It has no weapons. Aside from itself. What you do is you wait until you win initiative (and with this speed you can reliably not get shot by either getting ridiculous To Hit mods or just weaving out of LoS/Range) and then you charge. With Spikes. For 80+ damage if you manage to pull off max distance charge. The only thing that can stop you is the TacOps optional rule that applies proportional damage to the attacking unit per distance moved for charge. But if you're using this rule in the game, this Urbie is useless.

The only ones I have read were the Blood of Kerensky trilogy. Its basically the tales of various heirs to the thrones of the Great Houses, and where they end up as the Clans invade. I liked it, just be sure you know what a Rasalhague is before you start reading, and have a map of the Inner Sphere circa 3048 on hand.

I started with Gray Death Legion trilogy personally. Kinda pulpy action, but it really sets the building blocks for alot of 3025 era stuff. Plus it is literally the first novels they published, so why not start there? I also second Blood of Kerensky.

Depends on your taste. If you're looking for a small good story on mercenaries: Double Blind If you're looking for a good larger story set on one or two worlds: The Gray Death Trilogy Larger stories for the universe itself: Warrior Trilogy followed by the Blood of Kerensky Trilogy A small personal story that'll make you hate Kurita ("These were the swords of an HONORABLE MAN"): Wolves on the Border Story set in a more recent era: Ghost War (look Dark age had some hit an misses but I'm still plugging this book because it is worth it). Also the Shrapnel magazines, the Battlecorps Anthologies offer small stories here and there set in the universe if you like that scope as well. The universe is vast, lots of places to come into, welcome home warrior.

That's fine. I've played warhammer 40k tabletop for over a decade and a turn rarely takes less that 30-40 minutes. A standard game can last 3 hours easily.

For the concept of the Battlemech to work in Battletech largely relies on the utilization of the Neural interface helmet, which allows certain functions of the Mech to be relegated to the person's central nervous system. It allows mechs to have some things like arm and leg movements emulated by the pilot as if they are actually moving their arms and legs. Though games don't portray it well, mechs are quite flexible and nimble. Not near like, anime levels, but they aren't as clunky as they feel in most of the games because of that, and the complex nature if arms, torso, and legs all moving independently at the same time is largely what put the Battlemech as the dominant factor of military might in Battletech. Even the fastest tanks can only go about as fast as an assault or some heavies, with a fraction of the capacity for battlefield power. Thus tanks are used in more supportive roles or as shock forces. Mechs can adjust on the fly when battlefield conditions change. Tanks are still crew-piloted, mechs are single individuals.

@@THEGRUMPTRUCK Regardless of who's piloting the thing or how, a tall/high-profile machine will be an easy target for missiles and just about everything else. That's why modern tanks are so flat-looking. - to minimize height above ground.
