As a long time tabletop fan, and MWO player, I'm glad to see the collaboration between the art and style you all are putting out. I know their are some variations that I like from both systems. I really like the Night star miniature you have out, but I like PGI's version of the Marauder 2. The new box art book covers are awesome! Can't wait for the Universe book!!! Wow, did Randall really say that they sent the Shilone fighter to all Clan Invasion kickstarter backers? They certainly did not, only to all the Wave 2 backers, and a limited Wave 1 backers, in USA, UK and Canada, if I recall correctly.
Surprised to see Alpha Strike cards with the battle armor. Certainly didn't get any with my elementals which seemed random. Welcome though to have something in the box.
So this was a kickstarter huh? Are they going to be sold in store or online elsewhere? Especially the vehicles. I don't keep up with kickstarters, first and last one I invested in I am 4 months past when they said it would be delivered and seems I'm one of many that are still waiting.
Just about everything that's run in the kickstarter in terms of units and maps will eventually hit stores or the CGL webstore at some point in the future. KS-backers mostly get first dibs and a bunch of swag-bonuses like patches and dice.
The whole package looks great. I'm happy when I can hold my things in my hands. A question about the legendary maps. Would it be possible to combine the Legendary Maps with other maps or combine them with two Legendary Maps, like with the "Ring of Equal" map, so that you can also play larger battles?😍
Love it! Especially swappable parts! Thats a no-brainer regarding any minis from any franchise. Just some suggestions. Have " Swarm " packs featuring the lightest of the light mechs ( Clan or IS ), similar to the Urbanmech pack. Say Fleas and Locusts. I love those buggers, have each pack be hmm... 4-6 Fleas/ Locusts 1 of each canon variant. Cant wait to get my hands on the Battletech Mercenary Box once in store for the rest of the world ( Norway here ) to buy. One of the things that just " Yes! Im buying that " Is sure the whole box but the FLEA! Just wish as said there were multipacks of the little buggers. Also wish the Marauder design were that from MWO, Alex Iglesias style. BUT keep the centeralized gun on top, not to left/ right. Maybe canonize a new model of Marauder or something for that? Anyway, top notch!
For the mats, is there any plan to make hexless mats that lack that hex style elevations? The only hexless mat I've seen still has a bunch of hex style cliffs and such.
I don't care for the hex style elevations either. If you're not using the hexes, does it even make sense to have the elevations on the map at all? I would rather see them make maps with properly scaled city streets, airfields etc rather than landforms, and then do 3D terrain sets to expand them, but those fields are pretty saturated already. Maybe in time.
@@EverythingBattletechWhat about the other maps that are currently neoprene only like Alpine, Lunar, Savanna and Tundra? And the Strana Mechty ones? A lot of us much prefer paper and keep getting priced out of exclusives.
I agree 100%. There's a clubhouse-aloofness to the way they handle things. I don't want to see them go full wotc/gw, but a bit more polish wouldn't hurt.
