Check out HEMA before you made such statement about "heavy sword" because medival longsword is just as heavy as a katana, they're almost the same weight and the longsword has higher reach. Each weapons were designed for it's own purpose, you bring a "superior" katana to the west and the longer reach of a saber and rapier would destroy you hard. Because that sword was not designed to work in the western medival context
