Co-produced by one time Kiss FM (UK) DJ Patrick Forge and musician Chris Franck. This is a great Brazilian Jazz Funk 12" from 1993.

The great Joyce concert at Brixton Fridge in 1993, Batu were the support act... Warmed up that cold London evening as soon as I walked in...

This was a big hit on the Acid Jazz scene in London, produced with the dancefloor in mind. It seemed particularly special at the time because although samba jazz from the 70s and 80s got played a lot, most current music on the scene was funk based. I saw Batu perform this at Villa Stefano, a little nightclub in Holborn and Patrick Forge, Kev Beadle and James Lavelle were dj'ing. The Brothers in Jazz dancers from Leeds turned up but the hardcore jazz dance scene was more or less over in London by then so unfortunately no dancefloor battle with the locals. The packed crowd had a great night though and I remember Brazilian Rhyme by Earth Wind & Fire, Deja Vu by Weldon Irvine and Fuselage by Monk Montgomery getting played so it was pretty deep stuff! The vocalist is Sharon Scott (not to be confused with the soul singer) and I have no idea what else she recorded, if anything.
