I buy only slab wood from the local saw mill so an electric chainsaw works great for my needs. Just keep it full of chain oil and saw all day long with no gas refills to be concerned about! Has more power than my 16" gas chainsaw too! The corded Bauer chainsaw is built well and work perfect!
I bought this highly rated, powerful corded chain saw from Harbor Freight for $65. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't turn it on and it had to do with the "Hand Guard/Chain Brake". So I watched your video very close and you pulled it back, locked it and that is what I needed and it worked. So, THANK YOU for taking the time to record this and share it with us. The only suggestion that I might offer is what I read and that is not to climb a ladder or be in a tree with a chainsaw and they say not to cut above higher than your shoulders. Thanks again for the great information!
Good video. I have a Harbor Freight Bauer 16" electric (plug in) chainsaw that needs a new plastic gear. All teeth teeth are worn down. My trouble is I can't find a replacement gear anywhere. The gear I need is about 4 1/4" dia, but the spindle in the center is a bit different than the one I see on line...one side has a 1" bearing that is attached to a geared shaft. I was trying to find out who manufactures the saw so I could contact them directly as HF was no help. Would you have any information on where I can get this gear? Thanks.
The part that he missed (and I did too) is the necessity to add grease to the grease port on the guide bar BEFORE using the unit. After using my same unit chain saw on a mango tree, I THINK the chain got dull; I did not run out of the sample oil provided, but it was low. Also, remember to buy chain saw oil for this unit. People at harbor freight had no idea what's needed to operate this unit (grease pen gun bought at home depot, and oil). Bought chain sharpener as the chain isn't cutting as well any longer. Yeah, I'm a total amateur :)
I wonder if I could also use this as a hedge trimmer to brutally cut through briars, or would the vines just get hung up in the blade notches. Never seen anyone use it that way so I'm guessing probably would not work so well...
@@AnnaLynKendall Yeah, that's what I thought, I bought a 9ap one with the 15amp electric chainsaw order about 12 hours ago online from harbor Freight. Weird that you can order this stuff online and it be delivered to your house.
I could see it in your eyes. you read the manual that says to soak the chainsaw blade in oil overnight but you werent about to wait that long. went on witht he job possibly dmging your equipment. lol
You do not need to soak a new chain. How do I know? I have called the manufacturer for the HB pole saw. I got to talk to one of their engineers. He said, you do not need to soak it for 24 hours. He said he knew that was in the instructions but he had no idea why it says that in the instructions. He said I could soak it if I’d like but there certainly wasn’t any purpose in doing so.
