Thank you Monika Stadler and The Barbican centre for this amazing lecture. I have only just discovered it here on RU-vid but better late than never! I was very interested and influenced by the women weavers of the Bauhaus when studying Art & Design at foundation level. I did not realise how little recognition the weavers of the Bauhaus got and I'm saddened by it. Gunta Stölzl created some amazing work and I so wish I had known about this exhibition when it was on.

I have been learning about the Bauhaus in my class, Design, Theory and Criticism. I am amazed by all of the amazing women who studied and worked with the Bauhaus. I would love to learn more about Gunta Stozl-- does anyone know where I can access and read the journals that are mentioned at 8:30? Thank you!

This is the most wonderful talk and I am so grateful to Monika Stadler for bringing her mother to all of us. I am very moved by this history ... and saddened by the shunting to the side that has happened to women through the centuries. What a mad world this is. But how beautiful and fascinating all of the Art! What a blessing to have THIS. I know I will come back to listen to it again. Thank you so much, Barbican Center, for posting these extraordinary lectures. I am very grateful.

thank you for your talk and especially for the samples of weavings and tapestries. i have always known that gunta stolzl was the only bauhaus female master, but have never been privy to her work, and samples of other weavers. i am sorry bauhaus women were discrimanated against, but unfortunately that is still true for many women artists today. i also appreciated her paintings and recognized the influence of her art teachers. i could feel her great depth and inner beauty in the book she created for her child. monika stadler: wonderful presentation!

@41:07 - (not really sure why I’m bothering to taking the time to right this) the angle difference is 38 degrees not 45. Initially I looked at the base of the doors which appears to be nearly 30deg, it’s actually 28deg, but wait, there’s no reference to that on the cut down photo and what is to say that the doors would appear level. Check the eyes - perfectly horizontal on the ID card and 38deg on the original photo. Anyway Love Bauhaus, went to the museum in Berlin too many years ago, the year before the wall came down. Mies’s New National Gallery is T H E building. P E A C E 🌍
