Thomas marsh, this made me Crack up aloud. But yeah their set was amazing. I was fixated. Only band that evening to use the cameras in a cinematic way.
@@boingomendoza8303 Totally agree - Peter Murphy's initial close-up and his reveal after the first song, the camera angles on Ash and J, the use of black & white images, the ghostly stage fog. Really beautifully crafted and cinematic aesthetic. Would love to see them live at an indoor venue where they have even more control over staging - and where there's no sunlight to suffer.
I made the best of it by watching one of the Gene loves Jezebel brothers prance around and shake his lil hiney they were quite hilarious. And the Damned was awesome. Oh and DEVO was soooo good!!!
Their set was gorgeous to watch. I was at Sundays show. It was actually amazing. DEVO bright and poppy while the sun was still up. Bauhaus dark and goth af as the sun set and the blood moon rose. Morrissey, romantic, while the lunar eclipse ended and the moon became bright. That shit was amazing. So glad I ended up goin. Hah
I liked bauhaus also way back but the onLy Godlike moment you will ever feel is when you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior and hopefully Peter will do that soon
The greatest gig of my life. Sunset, outdoors, California, full moon. I'd waited 40 years, and Bauhaus did not disappoint. Every thing was perfect. Peter Murphy's face blown up the size of a building, with those famous spooked eyes staring down. Daniel Ash in stellar form, David J magnificent, and Kevin Haskins playing in flawless time. It was unbelievable, so fortunate to have been there, for almost certainly one of the final Bauhaus shows ever.
@@darianr3645This. Devo was way down on my list of bands to watch, but that's where our group ended up, and it was easily the best set of the day. They had all of the energies.
Seeing them this weekend. This may seem kinda insignificant, but I am glad to see Ash using a Telecaster again. He has been using different guitars since all their gear was destroyed in a fire in the 90's.
@@zetetick395 ikr?? I loved that movie in my teens...I even wore a Ankh pendant similar to the ones depicted in the film (sadly they were not daggers tho)
We were there Sunday. Flew in from TO for 24 hours. Awesome day. All the gray haired Goths hiding from the sun in the shade of trees like vampires. Everyone was super friendly. Would love to do it again next year!
I have always loved how Bauhaus and Peter Murphy, solo always ends the concert doing a David Bowie and/or Iggy Pop tune. Two of his biggest influences! ❤️
I waited 2 1/2 years to see Bauhaus on Saturday. I got COVID on Monday and could not attend. Tears running down my face watching this now. Thank you for capturing it. 🖤🖤🖤
53:13 Ziggy. Back in 1982 we instantly recognised the brilliance of this cover. The video was super cool, and it got a great dancefloor reaction. It's loud, it rocks, it's as good as the original. Live it is the best.
Peter sounds incredible & looks even hotter than he did when he was in his "Hunger years" all pale, thin, and gaunt ~ He still commands with THOSE HYPNOTIC EYES! My he has aged well (now with a sweet twist of Tim Curry beard). The guitar riffs and drum sets ...just as they sounded from my 30 yr old vinyl when I was 15. AGELESS. TIMELESS. MAHALO NUI LOA to whomever shot and uploaded this entire concert for those of us who have waited decades to see them LIVE.
I knew Dark Entries would be an encore Bela Lugosi's Dead...alone in a darkened room...the count. Tune I still have the 12" blue vinyl. That's what she said 😀
Bauhaus, the damned, London after midnight, English beat, devo, and Christian death were the real mvp and highlights of the fest Morrissey was just meh good songs though but performance was meh for him
Thanks for catching the full set! We were there for the first part of it, and it was incredible! Made the choice to catch Blondie’s set across the way, as we never got to see them Live after all these years. It was a phenomenal festival, despite temps in the mid 90s in the afternoon! Cheers!
You are a master cinemotrapher. I was there. You have captured the ethos... The vibe.. the Zeitgeist!! I am in your debt. I can re-live this evening. My leige...
YOU ARE A AWESOME. Was up nice and close on SAT - what an amazing set!!! Even better than the Palladium show I saw before Covid. Wonderful - thanks so much.
Saw them in Seattle a few days later and they were loud and transcendent. Peter has a voice that is timeless and sounds better live then I could've hoped. Daniel is a God! Pure Midnight - Glam/Goth Prince. I love his guitar playing more then anyone. I hope they stick it out and come through again! I would absolutely get the $$$ tix again!
The difference between Bauhaus and many other bands is that they have such a unique artistic strength that transcends the mundanity of Rock now, as they did when they started. That's why they stand out so clearly.
Holy shit! Didn’t know Bauhaus were doing any concerts nowadays or that they have a new song out. The band and Peter Murphy were on point with the music and delivery.
I'm going to Cruelword this year, co headlining is Love & Rockets.... But I'm secretly hoping for an impromptu apprearance by Mr Murphy (pleeeeasseee) 🎉
Voice immortal! Just epic! Thanks to whoever gave us the glimpse into this fantastic performance. Min 21 a bit of ska/dub mood. And the Bela Lugosi bit phenomenal. With this he just created the need for more of his performances. Man, the last bit, his voice is immortal! Wish Bowie was still here.
great set list, wonderful to see them play Silent Hedges live. Kevin Haskins is one of my fave drummers ever, the parts he came up with for Bauhaus were so unique, & challenging! this is the first time i've seen him struggling to play them. AMENDING! i only watched the first half of the show, the 2nd half he is right on the whole time & absolutely killing it!!! he was probably just getting warmed up. you rock Kevin! ❤️
Love this band so much!! They still sound so freaking good! If you want to check out another unique goth metal nugget, give the new Lucious Bloodfire single 'Shallow Grave' a spin. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QfPSWsp0IuE.html
Wow, I was just thinking Peter Murphy should re-emerge. Bauhaus was one of the Premier Goth bands during a time when Goth was a movement in music.. They sound great, Bless the 80’s when music was evolving and influencing an independent and unique sound. Bela Lugosi’s dead… a masterpiece and played excellently here.. Peter took a fall , David Bowie must have had something to do with it!
I was there too and this was the highlight of many highlights. A beautiful atrocity exhibition...in the flat field and stigmata martyr were particularly delicious.
I always love Peter. They sounds great! He still has amazing voice. I'm little bit surprised by his "Gurgief look like" (he loves him)...😊 Anyway - it's pleasure to see and listen.
