Im from chicago and i was bumpin all that bay sh!t back in the 90'z.....Too short, e40, pooh man, ant banks, 4 tay, dru down, mac mall, spice 1, celly cell etc
LA? The whole world was listening to the Bay. The bay was slappin LA music too the whole World was slappin & copying LA's music & style. The bay didn't copy LA. But LA started G Funk. The Bay started doing G funk too RBL Posse - So Funkdafied, Concious Daughters- Funky expedition
@@B-KnockzTV For the confusion on the Game Recognize Game’s release year, JT’s album Playaz N the Game was released in 93’ (I think). That version of Game Recognize Game has one verse from JT and one verse from Mac Mall. The remix of Game Recognize Game is the one with the music video and that was on the radio. That has 3 verses from JT. Mac Mall is only on the chorus in that version. This version is on the GLP album ‘Straight out the Labb’, which came out in 94’. Some of the years shown on Google and wiki are questionable. Wiki has 11/5’s Fiendin 4 the Funk’s released date as March 31, 1995, but I’m sure it was out in late 94’. Quinn’s Live-N-Direct and Cellski’s Mr. predictor were also either very late 94’ or very early 95’, but the dates shown online vary a lot.
this the shit we need. the bays rap and street scene frm the 80s and 90s is so undocumented and its sad cause theres so much classic music and stories that just arent told
alot of mfs got locked up due to bein influenced by this type of music. say wut u foos want but rap music really contributed to tha destruction of black n latino communities n we glorify our own ignorance
Facts 💯 also 415 and dem, tybb and dloc.. He nailed most of the classical from the hood no doubt. Seagram was Hella slept on from most of the world. True rapheadz remember the deal. 🔊🔊🎶🎶
"Sick wit it" had it on lock for the Bay back in the 90s. I purchased all of the affiliates on sick wit it records, PTS, The Mossie, A-1, Little Bruce, Celly Cel, Levitti, Funk Mob, B-legit, D-shot, suga-T & of course E-40.
@@B-KnockzTVYou sound like Herm Lewis from Master P's Westcoast Bad Boys vol 1. He did the Intro. It came out in 1994 also. U sound like more like of a Gamed up player version of Bruh
Right in for showing the bay some love town bizz much respect and especially giving Seagram most people don’t kno about him or give him his props he was one of the best rappers ever 💯
I was always a fan of bay area rap especially the 90era. All My favorite rappers are from the bay. The beats plus the player flow lyrics, is straight 🔥
I grew up in Martinez in this era so I love when anyone shows light to what was going on in the bay so much classic shit. We never get the exposure that should be do but we have always had our own flavors an trends so many talented dudes who shined then an some blew.up big but thanks for the video it brought back a classic time in my life!
Great choices from 1994! Missed a few more though like Dre Dog - I Hate You With A Passion, West Coast Bad Boys, and Get Low Playaz - Straight Out The Labb.
Spent some good years up in the Bay. 1991-93 after the LA riots, then again 1998-2005 .Lived in Stockton San Fran 3rd Street Bayview Filmore East Oakland High Street Seminary then to Sacramento before leaving California Bay was lit 🔥
Playaz n da game is fasholy a classic!! There ain't no no if ands or buts about it. That actually might be one of the best albums of all time around the bay top five.
Bro, I’m very surprised Goldy’s song Whip Cream Nuts and Cherries didn’t make your cut. That song was like one of Goldy’s singles that Too $hort was promoting. That beat was funky and it slapped!
Was the soundtrack to what was supposed to be my senior year in high school. But i was too busy listening to this music, selling dope, gang banging, & going in & outta juvi & boys ranch 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I just found this channel and I'm obsessed. New subscriber! Growing up on the East coast there were not a lot of other people into Bay area rap like I was. Amerikka's Nightmare is my favorite release from '94.
You so right, I grew up in eastbay, and Amerikkas Nightmare was on of spice ones best produced albums ever. I use to bump it everyday. I believe blackjack did most of the beats, and it had a eastbay feel to it, that was addictive.
@B-KnockzTV I saw the video clip in the beginning lol I was waiting for your review of it then never pop up......I will stay tune for that master p and others videos in the future 💯
so I was working at the snack bar in Durant Square when I heard my homeboy’s beat shop knocking Pimp of the Year. I went over and asked him the song details. “It’s Dru Down. It just came out. I just bought it now from Lance (owner of Homeboyz Music next to his shop).” I bought the tape and I kid you not, like before i could put the tape in my pocket, I see the dude on the album cover w/the braids behind dru down and he’s like 20 yards away from me! I walked up to him and said “hey excuse me is this you?” He laughed and said no but his friend signaled to me that it WAS him. Crazy ass story.
RIP Mr.C I was locked up with my boy n juvenile San Mateo. The coolest person on earth. I’m from EPA, he told me one day he’s gonna take me to Frisco. Rip my brudda
Thank you for this bro this is perfect timing I’m from NY but always loved west coast rap since day one but there was a few albums I missed. You just filled in the blanks for me
Bruh. There was a Bay Area track I heard in the 90s. I remember the hook..." All this work and no damn payyyyyy/ All this work with no damn payyyyyy". That was the whole hook. Crazy song. Anyone know who it was?
Shit the rap game in the bay area been lit since 1986! We was beating out too short when he was with 75 girlz! East palo alto Ca!! 2 stoges rouge✌🏿✌🏿 you forgot to mention totally insane
