Saturated soil + high winds = downed trees and lost power, landslides, house races, debris flows, huge pulse of toxic contaminants into freshwater system and ocean, lots of salmon spawning streams likely scoured out by rain-on-snow floods. Stay safe - I can't imagine the water levels receding anytime soon since there is so much snow!
It is awful 😢 unfortunately, it's not going stop long enough to give anyone time to recover from these weather anomalies and rebuild the damage done. We are witnessing the last of the last days before this system of things comes to its conclusion-end 🙏🏼

I was born in San Francisco and have old maps which show the original waterfront, most of the waterfront that exist was built on top of ships they’d come in and trash that’s why it ‘liquifies’ during earthquakes.
There might be some of that effect in terms of where a given species might still be able live, but the climate is also becoming less stable, meaning that the extreme events are becoming more intense and more frequent in all locations. Some species may not be able to relocate geographically, and will die out.

They cut forestry because of a spotted owl. And maintenance on grassland because of air quality. Then try to pass climate change as the reason. Every year they have massive fires and flooding when it rains. Lmao glad I got out years ago.
