ive done this trip from st lucie many times. congrats.. nice to see families spending quality time with the kids. they will learn so much and be mariners for life.
Awesome video. That’s is what it’s all about. Might hit you up with some questions. Last year we did Bimini in our bay boat. Might try this trip instead of going back to Bimini.
This is what i really want to do. I just bought a 26ft Avenger. Has low sides but i know it can be done. Still working out some of the issues for now and have a few more bolt ons. Once all thats done and i have faith in the rig I'm going.
I own an Everglades 243 as well. Im going to cross to the Bahamas eventually. I would love to know how to set up an extra fuel tank for reserves. Great Video!
It was not that hard, I added a fuel tank selector valve just before the fuel filter. I attached a fuel hose long enough to reach to the helm seat and had a quick connection on the end. I just ran the hose across the deck. The fuel tank was a plastic marine above deck fuel tank the would fit under the helm seat with the cooler slid back. Once I made it to my destination, I removed the tank and stowed the fuel line out of the way inside the gunnel.
What speed you cruising at generally? Great video! This is one of the reasons why we are moving to Port St Lucie next year! Just closed on our house there!
Most was shot with a GoPro Hero 10 Black & Drone shots were DJI mini 2, there are a few with AKASO Brave 4 but those are not as good quality and noticeably different.
22 gallon Moeller, I was able to get 24 gallons in it. I removed the tank once I got there and then used it again for the trip back. I also installed a fuel selector valve with a quick connection hose to the tank.
did i understand you say it was almost 190 miles from home to your destination? may i ask why you chose that particular spot? 190 miles is a trek! haha. I own a Everglades 223, 200hp suzuki and considering this trip.
I could have stopped for fuel much sooner but chose to go directly to my destination which was the Abaco’s. I have been there several times before by airplane. It’s my favorite place to visit in the Bahamas.
I honestly don’t remember, I searched the web and bought it online. It’s a muller 22 gallon above deck gas tank. I also purchased and installed a fuel tank selector valve and hose with quick connections. That’s how I connected it to the engine. I would burn the fuel in the aux tank until it was empty and then switch to the main tank.
